I’ve said this on a previous video Scotty, I don’t have the skill, budget or space to do what you have. I applaud you and the boys because you have done exactly what I wish I could, so I appreciate being able to see what the end product looks like 👍🏼
Holy 40 minutes Batman, that was a nice, long episode + an engine fire-up 🙌 Women think blokes rev their engines to impress them, but blokes all know the fact of the matter is, we rev them to impress other blokes (and maybe the odd woman). We just appreciate it more 😂
Scotty, you need to have "Hassan Chop!" & "It's crossed off the list!" T-shirts. This has been a great series on this ute. Just wish I could do it to my '03 VY S ute with the optional LS1. Again, another great video to watch before I head off to work.
Love this build mate. You have done a fantastic job and it sounds great. Finish line is just ahead and we are all look forward to seeing it. PS, Loved the length of this video as well.
Sooo many manufacturers put a foam cover on their shifter cables! Also being a similar height to you, Scotty, I too have clobbered my head on the hoist legs… which is why I always wear a hat, it adds a little something.
Scotty correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you're an ex-Telecom tech? My dad was one for decades, trained with the old PMG, and he is an absolute wiring magician. Those skills never seem to die!
It was actually fuel, mixed with a little oil. The oil was from when I had the issue of the turbos backfilling with oil. I've fixed that. the fuel was because it was running so rich that unburnt fuel was coming out of the unfinished welds in the turbo pipes. I corrected that in the base MAP, started it again and it's fine now
In my LS converted VS, I ran the Teflon fuel hose along the inside spot welded flange on the LH sill. Where the hose passes over the jacking point at the base of the LH Guard, I made up a 3mm thick tube that sits and bolted nicely inside the sill flange for the hose to pass through and be totally protected. It’s about 150mm long. The hose continued on and then up behind the guard liner to the hole which is used for the side indicator wire to pass through from the engine bay. This hole is punched in, and about 20mm so it doesn’t need a grommet. I used right angle fittings to make this work perfectly. Then the hose has a straight line to the regulator mounted just next to the AC pipe inlet on the firewall. Keeps the fuel hose completely away from the exhaust, or any other heat source. I don’t have a pic of the underneath, but you can see the braided hose which I only used in the engine bay because I had leftovers from previous builds. Then I extended the indicator wire down to the headlight area, and back up to the indicator inside the LH Guard.
Scotty mate you forgot to say hassan chop at the 2:54 mark, can't wait till she is breathing fire mate. keep up the great work buddy. My guess is low 8's if she get traction and also if the power curve settings are done right for 1 to 2nd and then all power at 3rd, cheers 👍👍👌👌🦘🦘✌✌
@@STREETMACHINETV Yep so do I ,its all about the weather at the time if its hot like in summer now way, but during colder months for sure i hope she does do hi 7's like say around 7.5's for sure if she hooks up just right, maybe think of putting drag rail on the back of her just in case, like the trolvo mate she hooked up alright to the point she almost flipped over completely. Can't wait to see the dyno runs as well. cheers 👍👌🦘✌
Yep i use penrite oils . Never had a trouble with engines after using penrite oils . Us car guys like the go hard but not at the expense of an engine . We used brad pemn oil in the burnout car though . Because penrite and methanol dont like it . Brad penn was made to be used with methanol . Hopefully this ute will be a beast . Go hard i say . Scotty you would love 2000hp . Not that you could use it but wouldnt that be fun .
Nope, we've had it on the car. The only reason it's not on is because there is still things to be done, and every time you take a bonnet on or off there's a risk of damage
Great stuff Scotty. Can't wait to see the dyno video when it arrives. Maybe get a sticker made up "Taylor Made", or as she's there to serve you then maybe "Taylor Maid".
The point is you want to catch that oil and not have it go under the tyres at 170mph+. We'll have engine safeties in lace to protect the engine but physics is important. You still need to slow down safely and if there's oil under the tyres the chances of that are greatly reduced.
only 1 thing I hate about LS's, their a very untidy looking, mine I went with remote mount coils and spent a small fortune on stainless steel braided Hose for everything and going to lose every piece of wire going to take ages to do with rewiring, but effort will be worth it, I like how you have hidden the turbo's unfortunately my turbo is physically huge so won't fit most places you've done a brilliant job on the Ute Scotty hasn't taken you long to get it all together mine I'm now almost 2 years in but almost done
I was tempted to hide the coils but Haltech are a sponsor so it's good to have their product where everyone can see it, plus it's easier to work on. Good luck with your project.
@@STREETMACHINETV fair enough Scotty I 2k my intake and rocker covers colour coded to the cars colour, I'm about to video my build shortly once I get every part I need.
Those rear coilovers look pretty lightweight - I see they're blue? Is this some sort of King prototype model? I thought they did mainly off-road stuff, not drag cars?
Hello Scotty !!!! Since - it is winter over there - how cold does it over there ??? I am in the U.S.A. - and it is summer time for us now !!!! It has been up in the 90 degree's and high humidity for us !!!!
Our winters aren't quite as savage as you guys get, but the last month or two it's rarely over 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Most of the time it's ranging from 32 to 54 F. But we're very used warmer temps in summers 90 degrees for us is nice, in summer we'll frequently see 100 degree plus and we're in the southern part of the Australian continent, so it gets warmer and more humid as you go north.
Maybe your next project could use water cooled turbos. They really work on a Lamborghini Huracan STO with twin turbo kit installed. Your cars may benefit with them too😎
Because a 100k turbo kit is the first one to use water cooled turbos? Buddy, you obviously just look up high $ performance parts throwers instead of learning about things.
Loving it mate 👍
42 minutes if goodly goodness to enjoy with brekky and my morning coffee.
God bless you Carnage boys.
Enjoy!
Thats what he said! 😂
I’ve said this on a previous video Scotty, I don’t have the skill, budget or space to do what you have. I applaud you and the boys because you have done exactly what I wish I could, so I appreciate being able to see what the end product looks like 👍🏼
I appreciate that!
Awesome job mate always give you a great feeling of pride to do something like that well done
"30-minute jobs are taking half a day to do." LOL, that's project cars for you. Everyone watching knows exactly how you feel.
Yep, It's frustrating as hell, but that's project cars
Welcome to my life- half a day jobs take half a month, haha! There just aint enough hours in the day...
lol, not wrong. A couple of months turns into a few years
Almost done Scotty! I got to see this beast at MotorEx looking forward to going out to the track to watch it run😊
Even as a Ford bloke, this is my favourite build yet 👍
Holy 40 minutes Batman, that was a nice, long episode + an engine fire-up 🙌
Women think blokes rev their engines to impress them, but blokes all know the fact of the matter is, we rev them to impress other blokes (and maybe the odd woman). We just appreciate it more 😂
There is NOTHING better than the sound of a V8’s initial startup - months of work and it finally lives 😂😂
Penrite A better class of oil
Scotty heck yes all the hard work is paying off. Can't wait to see it hit the dyno.. oh it's alive..
13:27 Hey it's that guy from the Nugget Project!!
IT MOVES!!! WOOHOO!!! Can't wait to see the next one!

Great suggestion!
Can't wait to see this beast tear it up on the straight. Great work as always, brother.
Wow mate. Sounds really tough. Well done.
That’s sounds tough, it’s going to be one hell of a ride when finished. Done a great job as always Scotty 👍
Good episode Scotty and Matt really looking forward to seeing the next episode
Good work, it rumbles!
Always a pleasure Scotty each Friday watching your channel. Thank you.
Great feeling when they first start 👍
Love this build mate. You have done a fantastic job and it sounds great. Finish line is just ahead and we are all look forward to seeing it. PS, Loved the length of this video as well.
Love your attention to detail Scotty. Getting there slowly, great work ❤.
Great Video update. Now starting, running, and moving. Yippee.

Ooh yeah, can’t wait for the next episode, well done Scotty, happy days
Big job ! Getting there !
Woo yeah! Onya Scotty! Can't wait to see how she goes down the 1/4. Keep goooooing!!!
Starts, Runs, Moves ..................... Nailed it Scotty :-)
Great work mate im really enjoying this build
That was worth the wait!
Great achievement so far Scotty, building the entire drag street car
sounds extremely rich scotty!
Yep, I had no Wideband sensors fitted, so it was feeding whatever fuel the base map said
Great work Scotty! Your wiring is inspiring me to do a better job on my cars
Scotty correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you're an ex-Telecom tech?
My dad was one for decades, trained with the old PMG, and he is an absolute wiring magician. Those skills never seem to die!
Still cleaning the beer from my keyboard after "tugged it a little too hard". Thanks, mate!
Can't wait for the tune pull.
Next episode we fix a leaking roof, well done on the build Scotty looks amazing. 👌
Great stuff as always Scotty!! Can't wait for the next one! Hopefully those spots of oil on the ground aren't anything too bad!

It is alive and moving. 😜👍
Great work mate
I've been using Penrite for close to 30 years and never had any issues from burn out cars to my daily landcruiser
hassan chop!!!
Aw she’s going to sound good after a tune. Congrats.
Go the drag challenge ute shit hot Scotty 🔥
Next time you do 70a relays, pre tin your relay terminal and your wire and solder them together. Will be a more solid connection then a terminal
Keep chipping away Scotty it's close now. Cheers😊
Haltech always make the point of not needing relays with the nexus
True enough, but when the circuit is over 25amps you'll need a relay
Future Scotty carrying the fronts for the 60 😂
👍👍👍

Yeah, E85 seems to taint it pretty quickly too.
Use a vf power block off the battery as its fused with 4 outlets and a plastic cover
Are u putting a hard body tub lid on scotty to prevent wind drag
If I can find one for the right money, that would be great
Look like when you put bonnet on.. would hit the intake slightly abit?

What cam you running in this thing
Custom Crow Cam, I can't give you thr soecs because they're not mine to share. Same cam that Adam from MPW runs in his 7-Sec VK Commodore
😃🤘
Anyone want to guess the hp or kw ?
You forgot to put a fuse on the fuel pump circuit 😅
Yeah, I might look into that. It'll need to be a big Midi fuse or something.
Hassan CHOP!!
5 litre catch can on a 6.5 litre sump capacity. 1.5 litres left in the motor if that happens 1.5 and good by oil pressure
The point is you want to catch that oil and not have it go under the tyres at 170mph+. We'll have engine safeties in lace to protect the engine but physics is important. You still need to slow down safely and if there's oil under the tyres the chances of that are greatly reduced.
@@STREETMACHINETV understand and obviously as the can fills you would be adding fresh oil in the pits between runs. I get it.
2 episodes in a row and you didnt say "Karate chop", when you were cutting.
Scotty, why didn’t you put a fuse on the fuel pumps? A ten dollar fuse on the pumps saved my project burning down when I had a brain shart.
It's something I'm planning on

Love it! will it be street legal or a drag only car?
Street legal-ish
Guessing it will be registered with it old drive train otherwise it’s going to need engineering

5L catch can?! If you’ve spat 5 of 6.5L out of the rocker covers, I’d say you’d have more to worry about than the catch can overflowing? Just sayin’!
That's true, but if you're doing 170mph when it happens, you don't want that shit under your tyres
@@STREETMACHINETVthat’s also true!
Penrite = Australian.
Valvoline = not.
Scotty can you please change the very ugly steering wheel
Yep, we will be doing that at some point anyway, just so we can put transbrake and bump box buttons on it.
