With advantages of RDS Ergonomics that are fully optimized for red-dot optics, Superterran Slide Serrations for ease of operation, a brand-new Performance Duty Trigger for accuracy and a Stepped Chamber for pushing higher velocities, the PDP is the next level in the evolution of pistols! Find this and more on our KyGunCo website!!
I’ve been an advocate for Walther USA for decades and I’ve owned and own some of the best offerings from them like the PK380 , PPS and a WW2 P38 and I love these guns.
I often compare firearms to cars which is my other passion and Walther as a whole is like Mercedes. Very functional, smooth running and handling and feels good too.
I had my old Glock42 and am very used to it but noticed a considerable difference when switching to my wife’s ‘Tiffany blue’ pk380. It was so easy to work almost toylike overall but was just as accurate with less flip.
I can’t say enough about the brand and I’m a Sig guy these days but still love them as much as I did back in the 90’s and my P38 after tens of thousands of rounds is rough to look at but still throws lead with ease.
It boggles my mind how Walther is under the radar when there products are above the others.
I don't need a red dot on my pistol. But this thing will be in my hands as soon as I can get one.
My PPQ has been killer for seven years now.
I just wish the Walther mags were cheaper. Because I tend to stock up for every pistol I own.
I think they accept PPQ magazines.
@@BigJon410 That would be awesome!
@@BigJon410 has this been confirmed? i heard opposite, i got my pdp months ago and still haven't found mags (full sized 18 rounders)
Damn it, I can't keep buying firearms!!! ...buuuuuut, ok, I need this pistol!!! Yup, Imma gettin her. lol. Thanks for the great video brother!!!
Seems like the best one yet 😳
I just did it and gunbuyer.com has them in stock right now 649.
@@minnesotanice369 I'm going to give it a year before I buy one. It seems like a majority of the guns these days have minor issues throughout the first 6 months. I think if you already own carry gun's that it's kind of foolish to buy something newly released.
Sure you can as long as they keep giving us stimulus lmao. Every check so far has gone to guns or ammo fuck you Joe
@@1stAmendmentfukyoutube same here brother
Owned already two Walthers and why no another one to my collection. Btw, loved them more than my Glocks
Loved my M&p more than a glock. But damn the machining on the slide on this walther. Also hear the trigger is phenomenal. Might need to pick up a walther to dual carry with my M&p. This thing looks sharp
You both have committed blasphemy! 😂
@@EchoSigma6 😂😂😂
I sold my Glock 45 once I bought my Walther PPQ. No regrets.
Which do you prefer, I'm in between getting the compact and the full size
Been a 1911 guy. My first striker fire pistol and this one has a great trigger.
“A new Stallion in the stable” huh Patrick?! Love it!!!! Thanks for the review brother!
I have a PPQ m2 but seeing this, I feel really compelled to switch to this... looks awesome.
Yeah they really made some nice changes. The only downside is that this one doesn't look as easy to conceal. I carry my PPQ appendix and it is very comfortable owing to the tapered slide. This looks more like a blocky Glock on the slide. The grip looks considerably rougher as well. Might rub the skin more.
I'll buy the PPQ.
I upgraded from the PPQ to the PDP. That grip is out of this world.
Seriously one of the best looking polymer guns out there. Mesmerizing!
I first bought the Walther PDP full size 5" barrel 18+1. It is so amazingly good: reliable, accurate with a smooth trigger pull, that I ended up buying the PDP compact 4" barrel 15+1. Both of them PDPs are superb modern combat handguns!
If you had to choose one the full size or the compact which would you choose?
@@Veneno24k you ever decide on the full size or compact?
@@garrison2042 hey, so I got the full size and I just liked how my ppq m2 felt so I swapped it for the compact. I didn't shoot the full size but I love the compact and definitely prefer it over full size. Hope that helps alittle. I wanted to have it as a carry option and home defense whenever I used it for either or.
@@Veneno24k yeah my buddy has the compact. i love it but just slightly small for my hands. cant find a single full size to hold in person in my area. tough decision
@@garrison2042 with the +2 mag extension that came with my ppQ will make it feel much better in your hands. It fits perfect in my hand. If it's not going to be a edc then I would say full size if your hands are big.
Great review straight to the point...
Recently got 2 5inch PDP(Gen2) full size from KYGUNCO, so far all well!!! Thank you for the FFL as I was having a hard time finding these in my local area!!!
I have 2 Walthers and previously had a 3rd. Love them all! And now I want a 4th...
Talk about consistent ejection. Good stuff
I love your company my absolute favorite gun shop and online source. I live in Las Vegas and tell everyone about you!! Top notch service
have to say the recoil ejection of spent cases was quite uniform. Great video.
I love the PDP Compact. The only issue I've had is getting an optic plate from Walther. The last time I called to check status, it supposedly shipped 37 days ago, and I still haven't received it. If they at least build them to fit a specific red dot, that would help, but according to their customer service, there are none. Other than customer service, this is a great gun!
I gotta checkout this handgun, it's made by Walther so that means it's better quality control than many other manufacturersl!! I love my PPQ!!
Thanks for the review. Might have to stop by and rent it to see how it fits!
Nice. Holding the compact and full size side by side I went with the compact version.Put 100 rounds of federal 124 grn American eagle also.Shot them very accurate. Ragged hole at 7 yards.
Thanks for explaining the difference between three models.
I have found that i can see my factory sights just fine with the Holosun 507K with the adaptor plate. Loving my PDP, with Holosun 507K.
Outstanding walk through!
Great review, but I wish someone would use just one of the magazines to do a slow fire, true accuracy test. (Even if they just showed the target after the fact because it makes the video too long).
I’m a target guy, and it’s very frustrating for me that 99% of these tests on UA-cam are basically mag dumps. Show all the mag dumps you want. They are a great function test, BUT I’m tired of people saying (nothing personal) “This gun is very accurate” and only testing it by spraying bullets everywhere...
Could be you making those slow fire videos!
Look like it feels amazing in hand
I just ordered the PDP...I have a 5in PDQ and it is the Most accurate gun I own...to include Ruger MK 4 bull target pistol. Far superior to any Glock...only real competitor is HK
Appears Walther made an improved Glock. I wonder how much and how available their magazines are? Over the years I have invested in the Glock platform so they got me based on my stockpile of reasonably priced mags and all the money on replacement sights. There are lots of excellent striker fired platforms out there now, perhaps this is the golden age of the modern 9mm pistols? We just need to get over the guns and ammo shortage now.
So this is brand new and therefore probably not many mags out there for sale but as a general rule I can walk into several different local stores and find mags for my CCP and PPQ in stock. I’d give it some time but then they should be available.
The full-size PDPs will work with Canik TP9SFX mags.
Takes Glock sights.
Take my 💰 money.. can I order this now please!!! Where I can’t find it on the site..
Is their any type of help for ppl like me that feel compelled to buy a gun 3 to 4 times a year.
@@reyhernandez1130 Yeah. There’s something amazing for people like you: ammo.
Patrick, don't see the PDP on your website! Would have thought you would have them up before doing this video!
2021 My favorite Walther Sweet hand gun
Excellent video. Excellent shooting.
Iv been thinking about getting one of these, think they woulda been spot on if they threw night sights on it out of the box. I was told this gun actually shoots better the faster you shoot it 🤷♂️
Awesome reviews, subscribed. Thanks
for some reason google isnt letting me go to your webpage.
Stop using google. Use Duck Duck Go or the Brave browser.
weird that they specify vortex viper, wouldn't venom also fit?
So I don’t know about on this one (PDP) but if memory serves me right when I got my PPQ Q4 Tac and I went to request the plate to fit my venom, they did differentiate between venom and viper. But that was a while back so maybe mistaken. I’d call Walther.
Best factory trigger and accuracy of any gun I own ~
Standard capacity mags, you mean... 😒
Right? I hate the gun grabber attempts at manipulation of language.
Lmao standard for now grab em while you can
Wondering if the 15 round magazines from a PPQ (model 1 or 2) will work in this new PDP. Also wondering if my PPQ holster will work this newer PDP.
Me too.
Same
@@lonecreations1740 they do fit
15 round mags work in the compact, 18 rounders for the full size frame
Firearm guy did a video on it . They ppq mags fit in this PDP .
I saw the compact being fired, I didn’t see the full size. The title to the video is misleading.
Great review, just subscribed for more
PDP makes the PPQ obsolete on many, many details.
I've owned both. My PDP Full Size 5" remains on my team 👍👍
This PDP standard capacity mag is 18, the PPQ is 17. If the mags are interchangeable then the 18 will fit the PPQ, right? We’re not gonna have a situation like the SC where you shouldn’t use “regular” mags are we?
It's a Walther!
Picking mine up in a day or so.....cant wait HEELLLOOOO 4473 we meet again
I love your company and the great prices, but it's a good thing that I watched The Honest Outlaw review when he demoed the accuracy of this pistol. Sorry to tell you, but you didn't do this pistol justice shooting it.
These are meat & potatoes reviews in order to give our customers just the facts they need to make their purchasing decision. There are a TON of channels out there that will put hundreds of rounds through these guns for you to watch and we encourage you to watch them.
Honest outlaw had a couple of inaccurate statements on his review. They were "all the optic plates come in the box" and he said the msrp is $600 it's $650.
@@mackies9151 let's just say his shooting made up for those discrepancies.
He's a great shooter & reviewer.
@@thekentuckygunco - Great review from your perspective. Love it.
@@mrtdiver Word!
Will buy as soon as it comes in .45
Please Walther make this in.45 acp!!!!!
I'm sure they will. This is the new PPQ platform so they will offer all the variations that the PPQ came out in.
Also the barrels are interchangeable.
I'll be getting the PDP, but so far I'll admit... The HK-VP9 has an "Awesome trigger" as well for a striker fired polymer pistol. I'll have to make my comparisons.
I've got a VP9, VP9SK and a new PDP Compact 4. All three are fantastic handguns, especially their triggers but I like the VP9 trigger a little better. It's probably just variations in tolerances, but my VP9SK has the best trigger of the bunch.
@@gregbrakefield7286 yes I agree, the Vp9 trigger is awesome. I think a bit underated in my opinion.
Great video
I know canik copied their trigger but I've heard many gun tubers say it edges out the Walther . What's your opinion?
I own a PPQ M1, so I know firsthand that Walther is a great brand. However for the price that the PDP is going for ($650) on the kygunco website, IMO you'd be better off getting a Canik TP9 Elite Combat ($700). It comes with an optic plate (add'l ones are $15 each), fluted, suppressor-ready barrel, flat trigger, magwell, (3) changeable magazine release buttons, a holster AND other stuff. I own one and it's the best value in firearms right now.
I'll take german gun over turkish garage any day
@@romang6437 Why?
Yes but you wouldn’t have that amazing new grip or the “Grip Toe”.

Should blur the QR code for the optic mount.
The new Male Bond should carry this model.

It's about time 007 got down with the dot..
Can I get ten round. Mags,?
when you opening up in louisville ? within walking distance...
Any idea if a sub compact for carry will be available?
Someone said Walther has had a carry consistently within months of a new release. I don't know if that's true at all. Just hoping
I want to put hands on the compact though. Maybe it's small enough to conceal anyway
where is my gun at... jk order over the weekend
Firing 1000+rounds of various 9 mm. will prove its reliability and durability to be a duty pistol.
One single malfunction during gunfight would be fatal for officers' lives.
Active Self Protection UA-cam channel shows LEO Glocks malfunctioning during a gunfight.
I recently built a thousand dollar glock 19 using a polymer80 lower. This gun basically has the same exact features besides for it having no night sights or aluminum trigger. You're basically getting the quality of an apex trigger kit without the trigger shoe with this gun. In polymer80 terms this gun is worth around $830 and you're getting it for $600 😳👍. It's honestly one of the best deals I've seen in a really long time. If I would have known this was coming I would have never built a p80. Im definitely going to buy one!! . Im going to wait a year and let the company work out any problems it might have. It seems like most gun's have minor issues throughout the first year. I have a really good feeling about this firearm :). It might be the best one yet when it comes to pistols under a thousand dollars.
Yeah the PPQ really needs a lighter trigger.
Definitely a consideration if you're looking at this for a defensive pistol. One reason I tend to lean DA/SA more often that not.
Who said it has a lighter trigger than the original ppq?
Overwatch Precision puts out after market style PPQ & match triggers. See the website.
Sexy gun...I may have to pick one up
great review but it's out of stock on your site :(
They should have called it the Walther APX
It does look similar but I think the Walther looks better, frankly. Also the PPQ trigger is insanely good and this one is supposed to be even better.
Ha! I'd like to see this new PDP line in larger calibers: .357sig, .40, .45acp or 10mm. If new 🇺🇸 gun mag limits: 10 or less occur, the demand will ⬆️ for large caliber pistols. The gun firms: S&W, Ruger, SIG, HK, Walther do not seem to grasp the concept.
@@DavidLLambertmobile Gun magazine limits are unconstitutional. Don't accept that.
@@DavidLLambertmobile Full-load 10mm is too hot for most people, especially with a polymer frame compact. 357 Sig needs a longer barrel for reasonable powder burn and velocity. 9mm Luger is the sweet spot and is just as effective as 45ACP.
Any reason to get the 4.5' barrel length over the 4' ???
Longer sight radius better = accuracy, and more powder can burn in the barrel that's longer in a pistol increasing velocity and power
The suits at Walther know what their doing. Put out a quality new gun. Already known for great triggers. Maybe the best in a polymer gun or as good as a HK. But priced competitively. Costing $100_ less than a new Glock Gen 5 19 or 17. Which will eat into Glocks bread/butter market segment. "first gun sales". Why would any one buy a Glock 19 or 17 if the PDP costs less and has a better trigger? :) Unless they've never heard of Walther. Live under a rock.
Got mine for 550$ ~ bad ass pistol ~
What sights should I use put on my pdp 4inch compact I don't want no red dot
Great video👍
Nice.
What is the asking price?Thanks
What size would you recommend for a guy with rather small hands. I was originally thinking about getting the full size 4.5 inch barrel because of the high capacity magazine, but perhaps it might be a little big? Please advise. Thank you in advance. 💯💯💯👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂
Serrations similar to BERETTA .
Centurion
Beretta definitely gets the nod for doing this over-serrations thing first, however, Walther’s is far more attractive.
When will you be getting more in stock?
Dreaming.....
very nice presentation, some other reviewer should learn from you.
present the guns first followed briefly with what s in the box, then test fired.
Man I wish this came in a 10 round mag. My state only allows 10 round mag for Conceal and carry.....amazing gun.
They do
The Compact PDP may take Canik TP9SFX 10-round mags.
I live in one of them unfortunate state. Do they carry the full size 4.5” with 15 round capacity?
Whats your thoughts on this vs the canik tp9sfx . Looking for just a range gun with an optic. Mostly shooting between 30 and 40 yards
Also anyone interested in a shield plus performance center 4" ported barrel with the red dot? Looking to connect with a buyer works out better for both involved. Only have about 400 rounds on it, will do a real fair price cuz I'm trying to buy parts for my Canik Rival
Walther misspelled 'Docter' on the coupon paper.
I held 1 last week. I wanted it but..
How much for full size pdp
I like it but the compact is almost as big as the glock 17. Still good gun. You should have showed that to everyone
"5 what? on the website.
Need more, stock is low. Lol. Great video.
How does the trigger compare to the ppq? And, like everyone else, I’m wondering if it takes ppq mags.
Great question. The Firearm guy shows that the PPQ M2 mags do indeed work.
I also own a few Walther's & carry my Walther PPQ M2 everyday!! Walther is an outstanding company!!
It's supposed to a slight improvement on the PPQ trigger. Lighter take-up and more pronounced break at around 4.5lbs. I'm going to my gun shop later I'll report back to tell you what I think.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 Honestly, I can't tell the difference between the two triggers!! There's just something about the PDP that I don't like & I don't know what it is, I just can't put my finger on it!! It's definitely not a bad firearm!! I just feel it's an attempt to recreate the PPQ using the same exact trigger only very slightly modified & still can't tell the difference between the two triggers!!
@@MikeMikeActual Yeah honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they are exactly the same trigger with a different return spring. That's almost no difference at all. Likewise this is really just a cosmetic makeover of the PPQ. I like the update generally, but I would have appreciated a total redesign to give a lower bore axis. The only problem I ever had with my PPQ was that it was more flippy than a Glock. Otherwise it is superior in every way.
When will it be available?

Anyone know if Walther plans on getting this Massachusetts compliant? I need one..
If you get the compact PDP, it will take Canik TP9SFX 10-round mags.
Is there a magazine compatibility with other Walther pistols like the PPQ? M2?? 😎
I saw in another video that they are compatible. Showed a physical change.
PPQ mags are only compatible with Compact PDP. The full size PDPs can take Canik mags.
All the parts are fully interchangeable between PPQ and PDP. Mags, barrels, slides, recoil springs and I think also the trigger system. But I have no idea why to do that (except the mags) 😁 Maybe if you bought supressor ready barrel for you PPQ and you want it on your PDP 🤷♂️
Problem --- I don’t believe the 2 little screws will hold the red dot in place for long.
I believe Walther ingeneers, but you could be right. Waiting for first troubles with MRD... Until now, no reports (almost 7 months in US stock)
Love walther in ca though so no new walthers for me
What is California's objection to Walther? No safety? California truly is Commiefornia.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 only walther left on the roster is the p22ca. No new walther wil pass because they need mag disconnect, safeties and now microstamping

That compact model is the same size as the Glock 19. You can also use the PPQ mags in it as well.
