I'm still using my BlackBerry Classic. I don't know why but I just love a Blackberry.
I have a key2 but still using passport. BB10 didn't support social media but still the best OS ever made

At least this review was unbias and fair. Just watch the Unbox Tharapy review and Lou sounded like a full on Blackberry hater. It was rather disappointing to watch.

Unbox therapy has been going downhill for years now. The man is just desperate for attention now because there are way better tech reviewers than him like marques brownlee. He cant beat the competition so he has to use clickbait and make his videos more interesting to watch
Even though I'm not in the market for a BlackBerry, I always enjoy watching your videos. You always have a certain honesty in your reviews, and I love seeing the different visual angles of a device that you don't see another reviews.

Erica very thorough review. Thank you. I’ve noticed that you take the time to point out reasons why someone can have their keyboard and eat it to. Unlike some reviews that just expect the phone to be a s9 or Ix. Nice vid please keep em coming.
I'm usually a fan of black, but that silver one looks incredible! If I hadn't purchased my S9+ not long ago, I'd honestly consider the Key2. Great looking phone!

I debated a lot in my head whether to buy S9+ or key2. I have never used a blackberry but always wanted one when I was a kid. My Key2 is coming in 2 days. Cant wait man.

Thanks for a great, very balanced review of the KEY2. The camera's decent, that's good enough for me for clearly not why I'm getting it. Ordered the silver variant but you almost convinced me that the black version was even cooler ;)

I just got this at my Walmart for $350 without activation.All black.It looks great .Love the keyboard.Battery is lasting 37 hours.

I bought the international key 2 128GB and I love it!!. Really brought it for the security features. I like the black phone each to there own. I went with ATT because it's GSM and the battery life is awesome!

As a longtime blackberry user I loved the design and hardware of both key1 and key2. Ended up buying all 3 variants of key 1 and both silver n black key2. With licensing deal on the verge of its end I jumped ship n went on with an iPhone 11 but as the news breaks out regarding a 5G blackberry coming next year I've started watching the unboxing videos of blackberry devices.Still have the black key1 without Sim but of course I'm buying the new blackberry.

yasmeen m Exactly, it is a merge of three BB phones. Bold (Keyboard), Passport SE (colors and arrangement between keyboard and screen) and Keyone (overall layout).
I agree, the KeyOne looked bad with silver due to the awkward banding on the top but the Keytwo with the matte finish looks great, like brushed metal. Paired with the chamfered edges and consistent design language and you've got a beauty.
Blackberry has never been known for awesome cameras I doubt very much any Improvement will be made to it via updates it's interesting that you type of bit slower on it than glass While others possibly previously long-time users of BlackBerry have they discovered that the type faster on it than glass. Obviously this isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea. Personally I would have preferred a flagship priv 2. I appreciate the fact that you take time to properly experience the device before giving your review.

Erica, thank you for the helpful video and especially your comments about the keyboard. One question: Has the extra clickiness sound of the space-bar actually diminished over time so that it sounds more similar to the other keys? Also, do you find that the space-bar feel/sound is different between the black and silver versions?
How is the call quality on this phone? What about the speakers? Nobody ever talks about this in their reviews.

Aw man, I had high hopes for that camera. Is there a way to change the capacitive buttons, like on the LG V20? I'm a big fan of having the back button on the right.

Glad to see a phone with superb battery life and no notch in 2018. I also had the V20 like you and the battery has not held up. Gotta run to the charger 2/3 through the day.

I loved the Samsung BlackJack II (in red) and I miss a REAL keyboard on my phones!! I'd go with the silver here, though.
Personally, I would like an updated LG Quantum (which as far as I know was only a Windows Phone, and yes, I unironically love Windows Phones - they are fantastic for me) because it had a touchscreen on the front, but it slid out underneath to have a GREAT keyboard.

I love BlackBerry phones. Right now have the Keyone that I rock as my daily driver. When people ask me about my phone they are always surprised that I'm using a BB. I still rock the BB Classic. I rarely take pics and I don't do any other social media outside of UA-cam. Blackberrys are to be used by grown people.
The best review of the Key2 EVER ! I had the KeyOne and got a Pixel 3 for Xmas, which has some awesome features but I gotta admit I miss the physical keyboard, especially the smart keyboard on the KeyOne and I hear the Key2 is even better. Now I gotta decide, do I trade in my Pixel 3 for a Key2 🤔 or is it a Upgrade ?

Wow I just want to know about the accessibility status of key2. I am using key1 with talkback.. But I am facing some issues with my phone. And I am still in the android 7.11. When will be the 8 update? Any idea?
My question is about Apple Music, I have a BlackBerry PRIV and I use the app daily but last week they updated it and I wasn't able to use it because it says it's not compatible with the phone so I had to download an older version
I watch these videos and I know for a fact I'm not even looking to buy a new phone smh, oh well

Wow the Tour..that's going back a ways. I had the curve 8530, bold 9650 and still have bold 9780 and curve 9315 I keep for nostalgia.. OS7 devices are underrated and kick ass.

Erica, do you consider yourself faster on a virtual keyboard even when taking Ctrl+cut/copy/paste/select all into account? This is where I think the physical keyboard really improves efficient. Selecting text and waiting for the prompts for these options on a virtual keyboard are too slow.
Hi thanks for comparing the silver and black edition. Currently have the silver keyone. Would love to get the black for key2. I just want to ask about the external keys (volumes, power, conven keys) is it the same as with keyone? As I have issue with my keyone. Dust usually gets in the keys, making it hard to press. Hello Erica, Could you do a performance review in a few months please? The factor that held me from buying the KeyOne was many said that the phone gets extremely laggy down the line.

I would consider this phone if it were about $400, i really miss typing on an actual physical key board. I wish Samsung would have a phone with an actual keyboard. Great video!

Samsung actually carries a keyboard you can put on a galaxy S8. Not sure about the Note8 or S9.
I'm fairly sure that the KEYone is going to be in that price range shortly.
Michael Duffy I might consider it, but it just does not holdup to a great media experience compared to the Samsung Note. I would like to support its effort though.

Does this Android BlackBerry retain the old sound profiles, where you could have the entire thing muted, save SMS from a certain contact? I really miss that granular control in Android.
The silver is so much more elegant but we can't discuss taste, I suppose. Whatever! I love mine. It is gorgeous in so many ways. The shortcuts are awesome. The scrolling is amazing. And their hub is the best on the market. Totally customizable phone

3 questions as I have a keyone and I am considering getting the keytwo.
1. Lag time...does the new model have lag issues like the previous?
2. My keyone tends to run hot at times where android has to cool it down, does the keytwo have the same issue?
3. How is the sound from the speaker? Does the keytwo have sound from both speakers or only one? Is the sound loud or on the softer side like the keyone?

can you confirm the Cast function on your Key2 on TV is choppy? I suspect this is due to Snapdragon 660. My Keyone Snapdragon 625 also produce choppy casting on TV.
After watching this review I'm not sure I want to upgrade from my KeyOne. So, the screen of the Key2 is "meh!" as you say. Is it the same quality as the KeyOne? And the camera worries me now too. It was supposed to be better than the camera on the KeyOne.
Edit: Looks like KeyOne may get the Oreo update. I'll hold off my decision until afterwards.
@Erica Griffin hey Erica! I love your review. Thank you for this. I understand that a lot of people will only consider this as a secondary phone. However, if you care about security, by using a non-bb phone as your primary, you might as well not use a bb phone as your secondary device. Is this correct?
I wish that the key3 will be the only phone in my pocket. I work in construction and we send back and forth a lot of indoor, low light photos, and color samples with the clients.
I’m crossing my fingers that with the key3, TCL/BB will be able to resolve the camera software for good, and also increase the screen size by transferring the navi buttons on screen.
If possible, I hope they transfer the headphone jack on the bottom so the wire doesn’t cover the screen while making a call and navigating the screen. I usually make a call with headphones on since it’s noisy in my workplace.

Pi music player, VLC for videos not sure about a recording app though. I have the silver one and love everything about it

The reason i didn't get the keyone was that it was a slow phone for the price. High performance is not very important for me, but i normally keep my gear for 3..4..even 5 years.. so.. i want my phone to have some longevity.
How's the Key2 behaving then, so far ?

That's what i thought. For a moment there, it seemed like you were saying that 6Gb could be under-performing, which would be pretty odd , hehe.
I am just about to format it, but my trusty Samsung 10.1 Note has been my daily driver since 2012 (!) True story!
I want to upgrade from this Wicko Ridge i'm using now.. and Blackberry has been on my radar since they came out with the Priv. i simply hate typing on tiny glass screens . I'm typing-with-both-thumbs-kinda-guy. Hence the huge 10.1'' 'phone' .
$600+ for this phone is still too much, though.
The KeyOne is around 400€ here in europe.. but i reckon that even the 64g 4Gb RAM version one would not hold throughout time.
What do you reckon ?

It’s kinda refreshing to see blackberry ph with key board as now a days all smartphones are full touch screen and all glass (front) design no matter it’s a 200$ ph or 1000$ phone.
