And now I've got Lee in my ear making fun of his incredibly posh friend "David James Stuart Mitchell". 😂
That's a whole friend group
the north in me said it out loud laughing and i instantly pictures lee giggling about it
@@confusedskittles4811 It really is! They're all first names lol
which will inevitably turn into "dave jimmy stu" at some point
@@marycanary86 Especially if he moves to Appalachia.
I love that David just walks up, answers genuinely, no faffing about. Classic Mitchell.
Judi says it begins with M but on her Wikipedia it says her full name is Judi Veronica Thomas, She was really trying to hide it😂😂😂
Maybe Wikipedia won't find out the truth til her funeral
Meronica
Silent M
@@brooke6198 lmao
It probably isn't even Veronica 😂
You can really sense David’s giddiness when says “quite *regal*”
Everyone called my grandad Johnny his whole life. He had 4 first names, not one of them was Johnny 😂
You cannot have four first names. Only one of them is the first name, it's always the one that is at the start.
@@TheMikeTB pedantic 🙄 Fine 4 *given* names and a surname. Does it make you feel smart to correct casual language in throw-away UA-cam comments?
@@alex-holly lol, smarter than you yeah.
@@TheMikeTB 👍👍👍
@@alex-holly just to make sure you understand did you give me three first thumbs up or one first thumbs up followed by a middle thumbs up and ending with a last thumbs up?
I love how British celebrities just sit around normally & chat & laugh as regular people. Hollywood ones would never be caught looking so normal.
Same with the chat shows. Look at US chat shows vs Graham Norton for example. A much more relaxed, casual atmosphere
@@tensemurm5924 love graham norton for that- a few celebrities on a couch, relaxed and often with a drink. Produces far funnier stories and you can tell theyre actually having a good time and feeling comfortable, the US late night host circuit just feels more like an extension of their job unless they have a prior long friendship with one one the hosts
To be fair, these aren’t A list celebrities, they are comedians and comedic actors. American comedians and actors sit and talk together all the time. Just check out all their podcasts.
@@joshuaverkerk4532 amen...not A list celebrities, a bunch of "comedians" whose entire career consists of being on each others shows
My grandma went by June. Everyone called her June, but her name was Rosella. Apparently some aunt had wanted her parents to name her June but they didn't. She decided to call her that anyway and it stuck.
LMAOOO guess she got what she wanted! 🤣🤣
Facts! I thought my gran was Viola, get to the funeral, one Rosalie 🤦🏾♀️
OF COURSE David has 2 middle names. Im honestly surprised theres no number after. David James Stuart Mitchell the third.
All my kids have two middle names
My beloved Great Grandmother Dora was buried "Patricia". No one told me until I saw the gravestone 😂
My grandma went by Madeline her whole life. At 94, end of life nurses were calling her Ada. That's when I found out Madeline was her middle name. They wouldn't stop calling her Ada and I was so mad about it.
My grandmother's maiden name was Ada, too! She was also known by her middle name! 😊
I am sorry your grandmother was disrespected. 😤 So unnecessary of them!
I guess that was one advantage of my grandmother dying totally unexpectedly, and instantly of a brain haemorrhage, at 58 years young, No nurses calling her Ada!
@daniellamcgee4251 I'm sorry you lost her so early 😔
Yes, the Jamaican name thing! I always called my Godmother's sister, Peggy, as did everyone else. I was in my forties before I discovered her real name was Veronica. My mother always called my dad Earl, but his first name was Errol. Utterly baffling and endearing at the same time!
David James Stuart Mitchell. DJSM for short, as Sally Phillips said on The Unbelievable Truth 😆😁
I found many of the older aunts in my family had names like Ella or Vada but where I live the last A becomes an ER so I thought I had a great Aunt Vader for most of my life.
My grandads real name was Shirley, i thought it was Perry for nearly all the time he was here 😅
Found out last week that my uncle Neville is actually called John, everyone I’ve asked never knew
Called my grampa Eddie as did everyone all my life, his real name was Albert 😂
I only found out my grandfathers name was Brian at his funeral. I called him Poppy (oldest grandkid couldn't say grandpop as a toddler - so it became Poppy at it stuck.) He was also known as Dusty, Bim, him indoors. Nobody ever called him Brian.
My grandpa's name was marvin but apparently his army buddies called him by his middle name.
Goddamn. David James Stuart Mitchell has got four first names.
So true. I knew a woman called Del for years. At her funeral found out her name was Miriam
This sounds like a bunch of 🍃🍃🍃 smokers just chilling, in the best possible way 😂
You find out most people's real names at their funeral, but not David James Stuart Mitchell.
Had a friend who we had always known as Cathy. Introduced herself as such.
Many years later we found out that Cathy was her middle name and that she was actually Linda.
She just didn't like the sound of Linda.
My family is like that, you can never be sure what anyone’s birth name is
My dad called hid dad Donald his whole life. At his funeral, he found out that that was actually his middle name and his first name was Bernard.
I have two middle names as well, and one of them is the name I go by. So almost no one knows my first name.
We called my Grandad Tom all his life. Found out that his name was Alexander 😂
Live Judy ❤❤❤❤
Grew up being told that my grandas name was Joseph, but he went by his middle name, John, when my father (Joseph) was born. Found out after he died that his name was Patrick Joseph.
Everyone called my grandfather "Red" and "Reddington" his entire life, I went to his funeral, and it turns out Reddington was his middle name, and his actual name was Bertram; no one told me that... for 23 years.
My mum's partner for 20+ yrs was Harry.
Real name ... William Henry.
Going by your middle name isn't that odd
Harry as a nickname for Henry is pretty usual. For example, Prince Henry of Wales, aka Prince Harry
This name would hit different in Northern Australia 🇦🇺 😂
My Brothers Grandad, nicked named Bert, full name Hubert had to get a new birth certificate, it arrives and he discovered his name was actually Hugh Bert.
He was in his 70s, he had a grandkid named after him.
Yup, cause I found out at Aunty Janey's funeral that Uncle George's name was actually Neville....and that her name was Alice😂😅😂😅😂
Love judy ❤
I love that David's middle names are James and Stuart. All the men in my family, almost, are named George Stuart!
So many butters women in one place
My grandfather was called Jack all his life. His real name was Stephen.
When my grandma died we were sorting her estate and found out my uncle Martin’s legal name is actually Michael, and he’s just been going by his middle name all his life 😂
Everyone called my grandad Tommy, get to his funeral, his name was John
Anyone else googling Judy to find out her middle name.
My family call both me and my niece, either Agatha, Agi, or Lucy, neither of which are our names or ever have been anyone else's in the family
What is this show?? It looks awesome!!!
I believe it's David Michael's Outaiders
The name is on the screen. David Mitchel's outsiders.
This is so true. I found out my grandads real name at his funeral.
So many people in my family go by their middle names, on both sides!
I bet it maudrie!
Our carrinbean elders loved tgat name for some reason!
Ally sistters got pretty names like diana, cleninia, ivy, but nope, not mine!
I had 3 aunts that we called Anne, Jess, and Trina. Turns out all 3 of their real names were Maria 💀
Irish people are thr same, my ex husband is called Anthony to everyone but i marriend Eugene Anthony - Eugene is a family name so its always been used for the oldest son throught the generations, could be worse, his brothers name is Declan Mary 😅
I knew my mum's West Indian work mate Yvonne all my childhood. Then years later I met her at another job and she was calling herself Maizie. Still not sure that was her real name.
Yes ! I can relate my cousins my brother and myself all notcusing out furst nanes.
So David has 4 first names, poor kid 🤦🏻♀️
He's got 4 first names
Middle names were generally your grandparents.
I knew the first letter was M. Spooky!
What show is this please?
I changed my middle name from Courtney to Elizabeth.
She later went to the Sun to say Alan racially profiled her by asking if she had a middle name.
My aunt thought all her life her middle name was Geraldine, and she hated it. Then one day she looked at her birth certificate and apparently my Grandmother accidentally put her first name as Geraldine, so legally she was always Geraldine.
So he's got four first names for a name LOL
Anyone know what show this is
What show is this?
This is good funny and can't wait to see more🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

yep thought my dads name was Jim. turns out its Gunter. he used jim all his life bc he got bullied for being german. less so but my mum goes by sue rather than susan.
Yep 😂🇯🇲
DJ S&M
My Auntie Joan's real name was Margaret and found out at her funeral 🤦
My grandads mom we always calles nanny maud. Our entire life. Only once she died in her 90s did we find out her name was Alice, but she hated it so made everyone calm her maud. That wasnt her middle name, wasnt a family name, she just hated the name alice?! And my uncle mike my entire life we have called him Mike, im in my 30s now and found out his name was charles!!!
So, what the actual heck is her middle name? I’d like to attend the memorial?
Veronica (so says wiki)
Jesus Christ. They say never to trust someone with 3 first names. David must be the least trustworthy person on earth with 4
I till I was around 16 I fully believed my nans name was Bill. Then learn her maiden name, Mitchell
For no reason other than it was the only name I was given I believed her name was Bill, apparently everyone expected a boy that was gonna be named Bill so it became a nickname of Daisy
Just for context, a white British family, for some reason nobody likes their given name!
I had a west Indian friend and her middle name also had M and i never found out😂
Jákubina
My Mum was called Jane but in reality she was Georgina (we are Scots).
Judi’s middle name doesn’t begin with an M tho …
David is that cause king James started the stuart dynasty
Tub if lard
What is this ?
I’m so upset I want invited to this party. Come on, I’ll bring the drinks! 😁🫶🏻
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My mate had an uncle Croc. When he died we found his name was Crocodilus. Never suspected that. We got no crocs on our country, so?
That is an EPIC name.
If I ever have a child, I'm naming them Crocodilus.
Dammit, I wish I saw this comment before I was done having kids 😂😂😂
You used “mate” and “croc” in the same sentence, stop lying you’re Australian
I find it ironic that on the mitchel and web look, david quite often denounced dave as a channel and uktv as a company in general. And now he's stuck on it. I do love him and his comedy tho. @DaveTVChannel
What show is this?
Hits me everytime Judy goes "His was Norbert".
Like the dragon Hagrid got in HP2 (was it 2? idk anymore...). But yeah, like the dragon.🐉
I’m mixed and Jamaicans and Irish both do this, my Uncle Charlie’s name was Patrick and my Uncle Beres name is Landel 🤷🏽♀️ 😂❤
Yeah I’m Irish, my dad is called Frank, his name is actually William.
We tend to have at least 2 middle names though so Francis is probably one of those.
My South African great grandfather Pat was called Oswald Benstead Ormsby (2 absolute banger middle names)
I know an Irish family with 5 daughters all named Mary.
Grandad is really Clive but he's gone by Robert forever which is his middle name
Irish heritage here. Doing a family tree is bloody difficult!
Older Irish people do this too. My mother and all her siblings go by names with no relation to her actual name
“Oh is that your middle name?” No. “Confirmation name?” No. “Then what…” Don’t worry about it 🤫
My mum had an aunt called bunty. Called her bunty all her life until I was born and mum said she'd name me amelia. My nan then asked my mum if I was named after my mums aunt amelia... her name was amelia, not bunty
This is so true! My grandad was known as Tom all his life but he was called Alexander 🤷♀️😂
I knew my dad's aunt as Mollie all my life. Only at her funeral did I realise her name was actually Margaret. 😂
Why does this happen?
The West Indian name thing is soooo true!!
I was in my twenties why my aunty Jean begrudgingly told me her name was Sarah 😂
All of Davids names are first names!
My grandads name is Jim - not short for James, but short for Ronald.
Excellent! 😅
As a dude with family from the west Indies I can confirm...
Called my godfather Ted all my life... discovered 40 years later that was his alias from a life of womanising 😂
Mans got 4 first names
How did I not know that this show existed?!?! Still trying to get through QI, planning on watching As Yet Untitled, now have to add this to the line up 😅
What is this show's title?
@@davidbethke5463 David Mitchell’s Outsiders :)
My mom had a nickname that was Diggie. ( Long story that was just what she used to go around saying when she was a baby). She preferred it to her first name so she had no problem with everyone just using it. When she died her great nieces and nephews said "who is Agnes?"
my cousin is a junior. my whole life I called him Junior. One day I had to stop by his work to pick up something. His co-workers had no clue who I was looking for. I looked at them and said "you know what I think Junior might be a family name let me find out his real name." My dad told me his first name and matter a fact-ly said he is named after his father. Like I was supposed to know that. My mom is even worst she legally changed her name to something she wanted but never bothered to tell anyone so when I call her work and ask for her "new name" they have no clue who I am talking about and have to use her original name. I asked her why she even bothered to spend money and time to change her name if she doesn't go by it. Conclusion, my family is crazy.
Usually when a guy goes by Junior it's because they have the same name as their father, who is Senior
haha I am well aware but it was one of those adult relazaions that you never thought about until it hits you. Like people whos parents told them when they were little that their pet went to live on a farm. Then one day as an adult it hit them "WAIT there was no farm!" 😅@@raynemichelle2996
YES! I have a jamaican uncle we call Garth. I was in my late 20s when i found out his legal name is Derrick. 😂😂
It's almost 3 am when I watch this, and I had a moment where I was legitimately gobsmacked, as my middle name is Stuart, and my brother's is James.
That sigh says it all
I used to work for a travel agency. We had a client sing up for one of the programs. About a week later another lady came in to sign up and told us that she wants to a seat next to her friend Mary. There was no Mary/Maria or any name of the sort in the list. We told her so. The lady asked us tp save a seat for her friend, because she should sign up shortly, of she hadn't yet. When the time for the last payment came, the 2 ladies came in together with what turned out to be a big friend group. Turns out Mary is actually called Gretchen and none of her frients had any idea up until we asked them, if their friend Mary is travelling or we should release the spot.
German associated names were persona non grata because of a certain moustache man so an elderly person going by a middle name or more english name is pretty common... like a lady i know is hildegard only cause i briefly saw the name on her license when she was paying but she goes by beth always has thought it was her name. Plenty of irish do this too. Maybe because we have a lot of people named patrick or mark etc so they go by whispy or butch or donk etc
@@PhoenixFlowerEmmaDonk?! 😅 I hadn't heard that one before! I only know 'donk' meaning 'to bump'. E,g. " Patrick, did you donk your head on the door frame again? Maybe you need to live in a more modern house."
Why doesn’t Judy know that Jamaicans have two names? One is for just family or just household and the other name is for everyone else.
It goes back to slavery.
I thought my Jamaican grandfather's name was Philip and called him that for years and then from his gravestone I discovered it was Charles
Norbert is the name of my dog lol.
