Yeah I've personally seen it on too many low income housing units to even count tbh. I worked in the field for about a year with my cousin and some of this stuff is insane. They really don't give a shit when they redo those kinds of places in particular, it usually goes to the lowest bidder and winds up taking twice or three times longer than it would for a reputable company to come in and revamp the ventilation, then the low income resident has to pick up the bill multiple times a year when their stuff breaks. Or, if they dont (god forbid), their unit catches fire at some point. Even a minor fire for someone with a lot of money can be a big setback, imagine being low income and having to replace things and fix your unit? Nightmare.
