Magic brush is nice and all but reason I'm going to get this is visibility of images in child folders - hallelujah! That was one of my main gripes after switching from LR years ago.
Is it just me, or is their version numbering super confusing now? Capture 1 21 14.3 - huh?
Yes, it’s a bit ridiculous alright. I don’t know why they can’t just call it 21.3
@@thomasfitzgerald Sadly, the visibility of child folders only applies to the folders where the originals are kept - it doesn't work for user collections. Sad! I just use the folders to dump the originals into automatically dated folders, but do all my real organizing through projects, albums, etc. Unfortunately it's not allowing me to see albums inside projects if I click on the top-level project. Maybe in the future...
So...in the minds of the software developers at Phase, removing the 'Output' button from the Capture One interface...thus making additional steps to simply process files...is considered 'progress'?!! Likewise having to now pick a destination folder for the processed files, instead of them automatically being dropped into the default 'Output' folder within the Session, as has been the logical norm since Capture One Pro v1?!! And if that isn't bad enough, tethered shooting is apparently disabled during processing, so if you want your digitech to output files for your client while you continue shooting...tough luck, Pal!!!
But beyond how this 'update' about the way C1 processes files, I didn’t see anything in the Bug Fixes about proving a remedy to the way the app consistently will destroy layers after transferring a session folder from a tethered laptop to a desktop computer and opening the session for the first time! Ever since C1 v20 came out, this has been a MAJOR ISSUE, but Phase acts like they have no idea what photographers like me who have been having this problem are talking about, or at best, they seem to think it’s no big deal. But lemme tell them...it’s a bloody big deal!!! I just shot a gig last week with files that had 6-8 layers added that were totally wiped out after I moved the session folder onto my desktop computer and opened the session! I had to delete and re-transfer the session three times (!!!) from my laptop onto my desktop before Capture One stopped killing the layers...and that bu no means implies it won't delete these layers later on, when I go back and open that session again.....IT HAPPENS ALL THE DAMNED TIME!!!!!
Phase has once again shown they truly don't give a rat's ass about what working professionals want and need from their product. They claim to work with professional photographers about necessary upgrades to the app, but I think the panel of 'expert photographers' they consult when developing new versions of Capture One are nothing but tech geeks who know less about photography than my cat.....
there's a petition from professionals, digi operators, photographers, assistants, etc. who are petitioning to keep the simple export functions and exporting in the background. If it's not possible to render the files in the background whilst shooting, every digitech AND clients will be doomed to wait hours after the shoot if they need to take the files home that evening for further processing...... my watermark disapeared from my export. any idea ?
