One thing that I didn't mention in this (as was pointed out to me) is the Copy and Apply buttons in the top right corner of the screen. These are the same as the copy adjustments and paste adjustments menu command or keyboard shortcuts. I personally never use these controls as its much easier to just use the keyboard shortcuts.

There's also: when you're applying settings from a single tool (as opposed to a collection of adjustments from multiple tools): select the source image and then the target images. Hold down *Shift* and click the chosen tool's "copy/apply adjustments" icon-the double-headed arrow. This copies and applies right away - _without opening the dialog box._

This is the first useful tutorial I have seen on copy and paste settings that understands the pain of a LR user

Capture 1 Pro use to be so cool back in the day in the very beginning. They had to make everything way more complex and confusing as years went on. Literally was using this program from day 1 of their launch back years ago when digital first hit the industry. It is hardly intuitive and all these variants and other options gets so confusing.

Thanks for the video. And even after using C1 for a month, I still find the Copy-Paste functionality pretty confusing. C1 has great features, but it needs to be more intuitive.

Thank you for explaining this clearly. I have been using C1 for a couple of years and I still get confused after coming from LR, especially when I'm finished editing but want to apply a crop. The individual tool copy and paste helped me otherwise you have to enable crop in the Copy Adjustments setting as it is disabled by default.

"A little confusing..."? You are too kind. I have never found a feature as confusing as this one in any other piece of software.
    Thanks for enlightening us.

Brilliant ! I will use this for spot removal , it will make the job automated. I was going to use the LCC profile but find this simple and efficient. Thank You.

Helpful vid! Also worth mentioning that the Adjustments Clipboard is permanently located in the tooltab represented by the clipboard icon (2nd from right on your screen, to the right of the magnifying glass). I find this easier than brining it up as a floating panel - tho the panel is helpful if you need to toggle things on and off over the course of multiple images.

One thing else you should mention is that if any adjustments are made on a layer, and that layer has a mask, the mask will also be copied. If the mask is not over the whole layer, it possibly won't work on image it is applied to. You will have to delete or modify it in the new image.

Thank you! Damn secret handshake bullshit these companies always have really annoying. Why can't you simply select all in this dialog box too like LR?! Thanks again.

Thank you very nice how cN we do this but also with multiple levels on one image that has to be authomatically created on a second image via for example an authomatic subject selexction that we want sharper and authomatic backgroun swlection that we want more soft? Thank you

Now I understand what I have always understood.
The problem is I’ve never used Lightroom, I used Aperture and switched to Capture One back at the time of version 7… so I’m quite experienced in using C1, but I have always avoided some weird functions that are way beyond my comprehension… like this “Apply” button, which, as you say, is like “sync” in LR (which is no reference for me), but as I see now it just pastes the adjustments from the clipboard to the selected images.
It is very un-intuitive and unpredictable to my logic, so I have always used other methods to copy/paste settings, but not this one…
I love C1, but it has a few corners where it is plain stupid…

OK, so off topic question for Capture One. How did you get your menu bar to be integrated into Capture One and a different color?

    • @thomasfitzgerald
      @thomasfitzgerald  2 роки тому

just dark mode on Mac OS I think is what you're referring to

@@thomasfitzgerald No, I have dark mode turned on. I was referring to the purple color menu bar for Capture One.

@@neostephens8980 Oh, it's just the wallpaper I have under it. It's one of the default macOS ones. One of the dynamic ones for Monterey
