    Paul! Remember the cow painting that you inspired me to paint? Well, my stepsister talked me into entering it in the County Fair. Not only did I get a blue ribbon, but I also won the Sweepstakes Award, given to the judges' favorite piece overall. I couldn't have done it without you!!! Your tutorials have really helped me fine-tune my painting. Thank you, thank you for all you do!!!

      Yes and over the years there have been quite a few. One memorable one was a charity painting demo day. The forecast for this open air event was not promising - was it a sign. The organiser thoughtfully put up a pop up garden marquee just incase. Righ on queue the hevens opened and we found ourselves crushed into the corner with some 100+ viewers all trying to get under cover. The problem was the marguee was only 10 foot square! I painted with peoples faces only inches from my canvas. Someone nearly lost an eye on the end of my fan brush! Oh the joy 😂😂😂😂😎😎

    Hi Paul!😄 thanks so much for explaining everything so clearly and for showing the brush applications too! Every little detail helps so much! I’m loving the colors for a winter scene. They’re warm colors that contrast the coldness of snowy scenes. Very gorgeous. Also, “wow- factor” moment was how you cleaned up the palette saving the colors for later. Oh! And The cabin - I feel confident in trying to paint one now. Thanks for taking the time to go through every step. I’m very grateful that you do that for us students.

    Your Henry cat would get along well with my Zoë Belle (fur babies all share the last name VonWaggintail LOL). She sits in all SQUARES! She’s never been a circle girl but give her a square. A box, a placemat, a newspaper, and she will make sure she weighs it down as long as you’ll let her 😂

    I may have missed it but how do you get a perfect oval?

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi - thanks for dropping by. I used a variety of things for ovals in the past. First I looked for a cheap plastic oval platter used for serving party food. People thought I was very strange measuring the size of plates in The Range ( UK Big Box Store ) I also made a template with two pins and a loop of string with a pencil. Google that and you'll see a few demos better than I can do. You'll also notice that once I have a light pencil shape of the oval I use a narrow masking tape for a nice clean edge to paint against. I've found sticky back plastic wont stick well enough to a canvas but will to the tape. Hope that helps - Paul 😃😎
