Project Zomboid is an open-world isometric video game in development by British and Canadian independent developer The Indie Stone. The game is set in the post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested exclusion zone of the fictional Knox Country, Kentucky, where the player is challenged to survive for as long as possible before inevitably dying.

Small tip for sleeping in cars: if you park so that the drivers seat is blocked by a wall or another car, the zombies won't be able to reach you, allowing you to sleep safely.
Edit: I'm pretty sure this also works if you block the passenger side and switch seats in the vehicle but I've yet to try it

Use the "walk to" function when going through the woods. Your character will take the optimal route and you won't get scratched or slow down.
You can also fast forward while doing it.
Swear they changed something with the pathing a while back. Now if the 'safe' route makes you veer off path more than a few tiles it seems to pitch you into the trees anyways

25:54 FYI the reason you're getting tired so early is cause Zomboid actually somewhat simulates your character getting into sleep deficits and messing up their sleep schedule.
Essentially just like real life staying awake for way too long and then only getting a few hours sleep will mess up your schedule a ton and you'll be stuck fixing that for the next couple of days
idk about this part but from my experience it's best to go to sleep when you have the tired moodlet, not the drowsy moodlet, in my experience at least it, it's been the best way to avoid the unproductive sleepy survivor

Fun fact;tue longest run in project zomboid is eleven months the run ended by not dyeing by a zombie but the intire map ran out of food(yes the intire map) and at the time farming amd hunting was not in the game and yet i cant last a week

I managed to last 3 months it's easy if you stay in one house until you exhaust its resources then move to the next house but damn 11 months is insane

Does anyone else think there’s just something SOO COOL about the concept of having only ONE MISSION, just to make it to an extraction point alive? I feel like it’s just the duality of safety getting closer, but it also gets more stressful cause of that. Like, THE HOPE COULD BE RIPPED AWAY AT ANY MOMENT. Idk why I’m being all deep now BUT I REALLY like the idea, anyone else feel the same??

I feel like extracting Kevin and bringing him back into the regular world is a worse situation than leaving him there
They didnt knew what they were getting themselves into. They thought they were rescuing people from the apocalyse, not bringing the apocalyse to them. Not necesarily saying Kevin caused the apocalyse, just saying the chances of another apocalyse happenning increases by tenfold with him around.

200 hours in like 2 or 3 weeks. This game is so addictive. New pc gamer here, beeen wrapped up in Zomboid and My Summer Car.

It’s funny, the hardware store in West Point is actually marked as the wrong location on the project zomboid map. Kevin was parked a block away from it, glad I’m not the only one to get fooled by that

Reversing w/ a Sunday Driver perk actually makes a lot of noise. That's probably why they all came to you--also, van is loud xD But man, I love PZ videos! Got anxious watching some of those near bite moments haha!

@@theoguncleslappy9150 I saw in some comments prior that it's a louder engine over all w/ that trait? Not as loud as Speed Demon's reverse but overall it's a louder engine? Pair that with the slow ass van, zombies will be all over you.
I may have mixed Sunday with Speed Demon but overall, I think it's a bad combi with van while driving off road. Kevin's very brave for doing that

Kevin, you can turn on range indication for melee weapons in the options, makes it *much* easier to survive hordes.
Kevin and making things easier rarely go hand in hand. He much prefers to suffer his way though any given scenario than actually learn how to play the game.
The major problem with sunday driver is that it basically disables your ability to conserve fuel by coasting. If you get up to speed on a stretch of road and kill the engine, you can travel a good distance without burning gas.
Sunday Driver is absolutely fine...until the first time you want to travel between towns.

@@POTUSJimmyCarter sunday driver are just bad trait straight up , it use the same amount of fuel as speed demon except it halved the speed you were driving while ramming the RPM to the limits , it does nothing other than lowering the driving speed while making sooooo much noise and get you stuck in large horde super easy if you ended up in 1
Ahh Project Zomboid is such a flexible game - you can play it like a Sims or CoD or anything really 😅

Kevin is definitely the main reason I finally got this game. It can seem like a complex and daunting game, but Kevin's enthusiasm and genuine joy playing the game made me finally cave lol
Sunday Driver is an underrated trait. It’s a terrible pick for someone who wants to kill zombies with cars (you can’t really build enough momentum to reliably deal with a horde), but I find it extremely useful for preventing damage to my car. Plus, longer car rides in multiplayer can leave time to read skill books.

You would think finding medical supplies, a car and gummy worms at the start is a good thing but it’s just the game luring Kevin into a false sense of security before disaster strikes.

The fact that whenever kevin doesn't have Sunday driver he always crashes and dies is just the best. I assume he drives irl and is the best driver ever cause I always crash in games but am the perfect model of safe driving irl. I imagine he drives a Honda civic with a modest turbo.

Real talk: Could you imagine if they made a game mode where you play as a military extraction team needing to find survivors? I know a game like this shouldn't have an end per say, but it would be a fun distraction. Maybe be a good excuse for a Left 4 Dead Mercy Hospital reference (which ended on an extraction).

Just so you know Kevin, at 9:32, losing your hud was from pressing V. V hides the hud if you press it. The problem is that's also the vehicle maintenance. So if you are not close enough to the vehicle it hides the hud instead. Then you have to get out of the vehicle and far enough away from it to be able to press v again to show hud.
Running puts zombies on high alert. You naturally walk faster than zombies. Crouch. Sneak. Survive.

I haven't seen the video yet but just the thumbnail got me thinking. Imagine a game like PZ, but the job is to set up a base / team and gather new survivors via extracting them. You could be chasing dead broadcasts, horrible scenarios or get there and decide it's not worth the risk and have to leave the person to die / reject them.
Like a colony sim built on you progressing to a rescue OP style gameplay while continuing management of your settlement.
I'd like that. Oh well sucks to be me.
