Ooooo maybe could do a part 2? You could include Nyi Roro Kidul. Known as the Queen of the Southern Sea in Indonesia. She has a whole empire, apparently. Folktale says when you visit the southern sea, DO NOT wear green as it is HER signature colour. There are many stories of people being dragged to the sea disobeying that rule. Could be true myth, could be a sea coincidence. Who knows
Fun fact: Scylla was also a kaiju in the MonsterVerse. She is eventually killed by Godzilla in GxK (according to the people behind the movie, despite previously cooling down melting glaciers in King of the Monsters, Scylla starts attacking humanity and melting said glaciers). Also, MonsterVerse Scylla looks like a hybrid of a spider, a crab, and a squid.
Also in the MonsterVerse, the Loch Ness Monster and Leviathan are one and the same thing and is one of the many Titans that were previously contained until King Ghidorah awakened them.
As I think I have said before I have not really made many sea critters in my stories... because as you said this video there are so many already its hard to think of actual new ones. So I will mention some current ideas of mine thought of as I type them here. 1) Auom'Guech-Herongan. Imagine if you will that your traveling the sea's. Suddenly your ship begins to sink but you see no whirlpool and nothing appears to be holding your ship. The sea is completely calm... you have just entered Herongan's territory. Its a simple but cunning beast; its only clue is the smell of sulfur in the air after the ship has began to sink. Thats when as you are drowning that you see this neon bright rainbow of colors and sinilatingly mesmeric shifting of lines that are apart of its sea anemony like head with 1000's of feelers with barbed tridents on the tips to grip and rip things. the mouth behind these feelers is a Bulbous tube filled with highly potent and extremely noxous fumes and an acid so dangerous it decays gold and glass. its body is that of a squid and each of its ten tenticles is where one of those mouths are. Its beak that it rarely uses connects to a separate system than the rest of the mouths. It breeds by using its beak to pierce fierce and large prey and then spits its eggs directly into the body. after 7 days if not removed they developed into the grub form that parasitizes the body until nothing is left then goes into a cocoon like stuff it produces after its birthing feast where 24 hours later it comes forth roughly the size of a dolphin with its weird shape and search out hunting grounds. That smell mentioned is from its spitting its stomach juices into the water...which breaks down leaving a sulphur and methane like gas that changes the waters buoncy. Bermuta Triangle area has spots where the water is strangely less buoyant... and as I have heard it its suspected to be from underwater methane vents or something like that... looks like normal water but is no longer. for the inspiration. 2) Steam Cloud Clan. Your walking at night and your not near a river or ocean as you can see but its still considered in the area. You see a mild fog bank coming up but you came walking prepared in case of fog so others could spot you before bumping into you and such... anyhow the fog is mild so maybe half vision but not like you cannot see things before you walk into them. So you walk forward never realizing that you are to never be seen by others again. As you enter the fog you notice off in the distance some fog obscured people. Strangely dressed as Samurai and Vikings and Roman Soldiers... well all kinds of ancient warriors where what they wear gives away who they are. Even if curiosity does not get you to chase them they will continue to close in slowly. As soon as they are close enough to see clearly in the fog you realize they number in the hundreds or thousands as you see nothing but these figures stretch out to the fogs edge. You see they were originally a clan of warriors from the most ancient of times the first civilizations after the hunter and gatherers began to unite. They were cursed for being the first threat society by the new gods of the developing peoples. Now they roam collecting people of every era rising from the natural fog found in any location. once you step into the fog they charm your mind into seeing this illusion as your body slowly begins to fade into the fog around you. It can take on ships and towns even but normally just collects individuals. once asemilated you don some sort of ancient gear and join the ranks. 3) Xana'Teela. Your finding yourself lost at sea or in the tundra or like death valley... Basically there is no drinkable water and natures about to kick your ass because you lost track of where you were going. No fear, Xana'Teel is near. Born from the unfortunate souls of those that died isolated and in your current situation in some way. This Faery is actuallyyour friend and not dangerous at all. She simply detests seeing others die as their souls have and will guide your path and the paths of others to interact and change your fate. They rarely show themselves directly but rather assume a trickster animals shape or pretend to be a voice in your mind you might confuse as intuition to get you moving or doing things to save yourself. If you must sleep they guard your body from the elements and preditors. If you are being possessed or otherwise negatively affected by supernatural forces they will even battle on your behalf to free you of your troubles... in which cases they are wood, metal, thunder, water elemental spirit... so not exactly easy to handle, Using powers more along energy manipulation than weather like stuff; it can redirect Leylines and electromagnetism and all sorts of stuff like that to rob those ill forces of their personal powers and leave them helpless to its comparatively weak direct offense. In otherwords it fights with Reiki and Chi channeling and telekinessis and all that energy altering martial or otherwise arts. Lets just say a coyote attacks and the animal not deity finds that its suddenly paralized as its brain can no longer send signals. As I started with have no tales featuring them YET. But you can imagine the sort of reversals she could bring to the fortunes of heroes she aids in their darkest moments. Now as a Faery she does need to be rewarded for the services. All she takes as payment is an hour of life span per day of service and in the case where that might insta kill the one she just saved its taken from the next of kin that can afford the loss. But being a curse breaker means she is often adding more life span than taking while saving the person. Sure you never asked and Sure she never asked but she takes your situation as implied consent to render services. Hope you liked these ideas. I had a good time thinking them up.
Sea creatures in Folklore: Loch Ness monster. (a kind of sea worm) Norse mythology: Midgard's serpent (one of Loki's offspring). A bit of mythology and a bit of folklore: Sea monsters that lure men with a song (Sirens). They were disguised as mermaids. A giant octopus (beast) called: The Kraken from Pirates of the Caribbean. This was actually a shape shifter according to the movie. (A lady that Captain Davy Jones had as a lover). But who turned out to be a sea goddess. And then he turned his back on her, and broke his promise. As punishment, she bewitched him and his entire crew. They were hybrids between men and sea animals. She even bewitched the ship. (The Flying Dutchman). Then she transformed into this squid, spun her tentacles around the ship and dragged it down far into the ocean depths. And every night the ship pops up like a ghost with the captain as an octopus man hybrid. (Episode The Dead man's Chest).

Krakens also appear in the Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R.R Martin. Like in Scandinavian folklore, they attack vessels. Is the creature to hard to imagine for modern day artists so they just translate her to what she creates instead of what she is described as?
Lovecraft transcribed the pronunciation of Cthulhu as Khlûl′-hloo, and said, "the first syllable pronounced gutturally and very thickly. The 'u' is about like that in 'full', and the first syllable is not unlike 'klul' in sound, hence the 'h' represents the guttural thickness -Wikipedia and my big book of HPL stories.
@justkiddin84 but still it's a thing made up by a horror writer....though I do like his books .... but I deal with ancient sumerian demons etc and it's kutulu.... no matter how one says or pronounces hpl name it's not real
@justkiddin84 yes it is.... it's h.p.lovecraft thing only.... all the monsters are made up names nowhere near the true Sumerian titles of the demons he names in his books....
