Hi Rachel thanks for the shout out.. I’m pleased my video is of help ... the project has been great to make me think outside the box again. The different ways this field notes project can be approached is unlimited… plus it’s great to use materials and tools from activities (Journal making for example) .. I’m looking forward to one day soon playing with your projects.. but in the meantime I just look at them.. lol
Corrine is my hero…being a 65 year old newbie 🤦♀️🤣. I’ve been sewing all my life but she has been a great teacher and inspiration to me in this slow stitch world. ✌️🤍
Op/ charity shops are a great source of fabrics, trims, doilies, table clothes, etc at a good price. I have managed to grow my collection via op shops.
Hi Roxy and all! I’m an old ( in many ways!) fan who wandered off but recently found you again, yay! Love Your work! While I would love to jump into everything, I’m packing up a very large house by myself and getting ready to significantly downsize ( yay!) and so have time for nothing else at the moment but eventually will have more time! I grab a few minutes with my iPad here and there and saw you again and was in love of course! I just wanted to mention that I saw Heart and soulful design’s “best method for printing on fabric” video and it seems good! That gal dives into everything and really researches and experiments etc. and swears by her method for printing on fabrics using an inkjet printer and a label paper backing. I plan to try after moving. Just thought I would throw that info into the mix for anyone who needed it. Love love love your stitching especially in the books. Don’t know when I will be able to make an entire book but possibly at least a cover fairly soon and maybe some page embellishments! An entire book?….Hopefully….Thank you for your inspiration and helpfulness!xoxo
Great project! I am loving it. I will admit, I struggle with getting all the stitching done because I love laying everything out and the collage aspect. 🙄 I really love watching how you put things together. It has its own magic. Saying that, your background fabrics are just fabulous and I am enjoying seeing what you and Sarah are doing with them. 🙂💜
Also… don’t feel bad about using your gorgeous new fabrics in this project! They are wonderful and l look forward to seeing your project evolve over the months ahead. I think I will do a mix of your fabrics and other fabrics ❤❤❤ great video Rachel, thank you!
Thank you Rachel I felt so lost..I wanted to do the field notes so much and now I have the inspiration without having the actual fabric ❤ So lovely Rachel and thank you for linking others videos ❤
Hi Rachel hope your Sunday is getting better. My grade 4 teacher always told us to use our brains and what we have around us. It's sad, that some people can not do this, maybe it's societys fault for always saying do this and not that. My skitching is way out of this world, I am enjoiying myself. I have bought books and watched videos to help me out. Thank you for all the information.
Thanks for this Rachel. I had been feeling a little stuck, knowing that the embroidered flowers on my title page were not realistic. I am a huge fan of Corrine, found her before you and Sarah. But my word, who can keep up?! She is so inspiring and I think you are right, she can’t possibly find time to sleep, 😂 Really enjoying my fourth volume!!
This project is labor of joy and love. The intent is to bind us together with a common aspiration. Overthinking can hinder. Your ideas are fun Rachel! Please keep using your fabrics as soon we will all be able to enjoy them and we can reflect back on your work through your videos. Thank you for enabling, inspiring and tutoring ❤
I am making without your fabrics. Just need to be thinking out side of the box. I use stamps and practice on plain fabric until I get a good clear one. Then clip and tare and sew on page. I am not using buttons or lace as this is a grungy working journal. One lady is dry painting her pages with vintage photo. Looks really good.
Hi Rachel. Thank you for being such an inspiration. I first started watching you and Sarah during the journal stitchery project and got totally hooked. Even tho I didn’t follow exactly what you guys were doing, you gave me ideas that I used in other projects/gifts for family and close friends. It’s been a challenging couple of years in my life; and slow-stitching has brought focus, inspiration and a calming effect to my very soul! I thank the Lord for letting me “happen” upon your channel. ❤
I've learnt so much,Rachel, during these months of projects with you all! You have always said that we didn't need to have what you have! Your fabrics are fabulous and everyone would like to use them but as you show everyone can do without. I think you are a marvellous artist, you are abke to create beauty from whatever! Thank you very much ❤❤❤
I’m so grateful for you doing this. You and your sister are amazing at what you share. You’re sense of catching feelings of your followers is fantastic. ❤this is the route I’m going.
Thanks for your ideas...I was a bit in a quandry trying to get started with this project. I think there is no right or wrong in putting together pieces to form our pages.
I am a newbie to this form of embroidery and am not experienced in collage or scrapbooking or journaling but these videos are great instructions. There are script stamps and flora out there some are available from overseas at a cheaper cost but you have to wait for the delivery. I have purchased the panel but am deciding on what I want to back it on. Corrine has used fabric glued to cardstock for the accordian. Because its an ongoing project I can come back to it later.
Thanks for the extra video. I received my fabric yesterday and I’m raring to go but I bought the prints not the pages so this really helped me decide a direction. Love this group of people who are so creative and sharing with others!
Definitely not struggling with this delightful Field Studies project, I am enjoying doing a sketch study in a sketch book for every prompt! My first being Snowdrops, this new project has sparked my imagination and I love using my Frixon pen to do script on the base. Thank you both very much for all your hard work and inspiration. XX
Hi your fabric are beautiful and fantastic so i am doing both on my field note some of your fabaric and some of other fabic which both together looks fantastic and i use my stamps on my fabric as well,i experiment with all fabric and stamps and colour
Thanks so much for all your inspiration.!!! I am a newbe in embroidery and I learn a lot from you. One question, what is the grey square on your desk? Greetings from the Netherlands ❤
Thank you again! I’m wondering if the County Diary Colouring book is copyright free? Would much appreciate if anyone can answer! I have sent a message to ask a bookseller but don’t know that they will respond. TYSM!!! ( P.S. I have never sold a book but wondering in case I ever do and also because I may have some classes and there may be questions)💕
Could you list a link for the water soluable non woven fabric you bought through Amazon? I was unable to find it. Also, I struggle with writing on my pieces and wonder if I wrote on the soluble fabric and embroidered over it... would this work, do you think? thanks.
