Hello sir, this is Harald from Kattegat viking support. You have Ivar in your castle. Please give me 50 horses and I will remove the Ivar from your castle
Ivar is very clever, reckless yes but clever too.He says:"It's worth a try". His brother is just a way for him to test the water with the king Harald. How far He can go and also a way to demonstrate his power over his mans. His warriors don't back away when the king said no. They waited for the next order of Ivar. It's war. And Ivar knows it. There is no shame to try to kill your brother here. Wake up guys! His brother is with Lagherta. Did you forget? You know the women who killed Ivar mother IN THE BACK?! Do you see honor in that?
You mean she killed that crazy annoying witch bitch? Under her watch Little Siggy died and she was just smiling on it? Almost two of Ragnars sons died when she was fucking with Harbard.
This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire show and it actually made me respect King Harald. "You know as well as I do, that this is not our way. It's not our way!"
My favorite part of this scene is when Bjorn says "doesn't he (Ivar) have enough world to conquer?" Subtle yet a deep line in my opinion. Ivar and Bjorn are the two most dominant Vikings at this point and each have different leadership styles and opposing ideals. Bjorn leads with charisma and battle prowace while Ivar uses fear and pride to lead his men. In the end of their story arc, I feel that Bjorn wins in this theme of corruption in power. At the end of Bjorn's long journey he becomes the noble king of Norway and maintains the righteous virtues of being a leader, overcoming the challenge of corruption that Ragnar warned him about.
I don't think Ivar attempting to kill Bjorn was his main goal in this moment. Much like in York, he's making it clear who is more powerful. In both incidents we see it happen. Ivar took over York and Ubbe left with the minority of the men. When Ivar and Harald defeated Bjorn, it was Ivar who became king, even though that was Harald's ambition. In short, this was a power play, Ivar made it clear to Harald who was in charge, and Harald was visibly threatened
Good analysis. It's also obvious that Ivar has the most power because only when Ivar made the sign that the guards/vikings can go again thez went away and not when Harald said "this is not how we do it".
Harald: Killing Bjorn under a banner of truce is not our way. Also Harald: Trying to kill Bjorn after an election even though the only reason I'm alive is that he tried to save me from Viking Buddha is our way, though.
Harald throughout the seasons had many opportunities to let Bjorn die and keep his hands clean, but he didn’t do it. I think despite everything he said and did, those moments reveal who he really was.
Well, it is okay to send assasins to kill him and there is no shame or dishonour in this way of killing someone but it is certainly dishonourable to kill him when he is your guest and unarmed.
Also important to understand that Bjorn is the most famous Viking alive at this point Harald regardless of their rivalry respects Bjorn and understands this he would not let the main symbol of Vikingism die like that it would have been an utter disgrace not only to Bjorn himself but everything he has achieved
Yah what are you even saying Ragnar understands everything...he was trying to find who he was... I can relate when I was younger I viewed myself as a god... I felt immortal like I could do anything....life has taught me a different lesson the same one ivar learned lol
Ivar was a ruthless tyrant because Ragnar literally told him to. Ragnars dream at the end was revenge against King Ecbert which only his son Ivar understood
I think that Rollo would not betray Bjorn and that they already made a deal before Hvitserk went and asked for help If im wrong then any small bit of respect i had for Rollo is gone.
The try from Ivar to let kill bjoern like a coward, shows how much fear Ivar has from Bjoern. He's did this just bc he's afraid to loose against Bjoern. And what make this situation so real. Ivar is a narcissist and these people reflecting her own thoughts, feelings and fears on other people. Thats why Ivar said to Bjoern that he's afraid, although Ivar is the only person who is afraid. Narcissists are coward people, and all of together make this scene perfectly realistic. Geniusly! 😊 And yes, revenge is a fools game. Sometimes it is better to let the past behind you and go on...
I think the reason why rollo allied with ivar is cuz rollo wanted bjorn as his second and if bjorn loses the battle rollo would propose him his army and to join him.
All Ivar want is justice for his mother that's all he wants and is getting heated for it. I get that's your mum Bejor but Ivar is your brother you shouldn't be apart of this fight. Let them deal with it themselves they can handle themselves.
Ragnar would've whopped all their arses for going against each other. Ivar in particular needed a good beating by his father. Get that anger in check. O well ... eventually, it was Rollo's line that continued. And Alfred's.
Ivar, Hvitserk, and Sigurd didn't really know Ragnar well enough to know what he valued. If Ivar knew Farmer Ragnar then he would have shared the same sentiment as Bjorn but since he only knew a desperate Ragnar, he didn't understand Bjorn
Couldn’t watch this show after rangnar died. Nice to see burins actor really filled out his role. But unpopular opinion but ivar really ruined it for me.
@@TheHighborn I can understand what you mean honor is important even to me... but in the Art of war ....you know is not the same... ( Remeber Ragnar last words) .
You have to admit he's been put in an impossible position, it's his mom. This is all Lagertha's fault, there was no way killing Aslaug was not going to have repercussions.
I don’t agree, Ivar represents the anger within Ragnar that nobody ever fully understood. As a man with a disability, I can understand Ivars anger toward the world for always taking pity upon him, and underestimating him. However, Ivar certainly has his moments of complete assholeness. And these moments make me understand why people don’t like Ivar. Still, he is an interesting character that kept me engaged with the show after Ragnar’s departure.
Ivar is deeply psychotic, but he has a point. If Auslag had murdered Lagertha with an arrow in the back, Bjorn would overturn the world. He cannot even acknowledge the righteousness in Ivar's cause. Lagertha did indeed murder Auslag. That demands vengeance.
Rollo wanted to take bjorn to his castle so he sent army to ivar so that he capture kattaget and when bjorn have no idea where to go after losing kattaget Rollo will take him....that was the plan but bjorn didn't go with him else he go to England with lagartha and uber
He wanted Bjorn out of the politics of Kattegat. The world of the Pagan Northmen is shifting into the world of the Christian Normans. That was the way the future was heading. As Rollo says, "What is us is changing" He also wanted to save his son.
The actor who plays Rollo explained in this behind the scene interview. The reason he sides with Ivar and Harald against Lagertha , who he has always loved .He sees Hvitserk in himself and he needs to give him these soldiers and his boats so Hvitserk can go back to Ivar , this brother that is so like Ragnar . He is giving him a chance to shine and make himself Famous. I guess from what Clive Stanton is saying is Rollo was always overshadowed by Ragnar. he sees the similarities in the relationship between Ivar and Hvitserk and is probably living vicariously through Hvitserk so he can prove to himself that he was just as good as Ragnar . by siding with Hvitserk he is proving something to himself. He sees Hvitserk in himself being overshadowed by the more Famous brother Ivar. who has so much of Ragnar’s intelligence and personality traits.
*Ivar has no honor or principles.* He was willing to break a truce and murder his brother Bjorn while he is a guest and surrounded by enemies. It was the ultimate insult and disrespect to their culture, religion, and tradition. But, this should be expected as Ivar also murdered the Seer because he told him he wasn't a god, and Ivar was too much of a sensitive narcissist to accept it.
He learned that from Ragnar Ragnar invited Earl Borg in the pretext of peace but captured and blood eagled him, Bjorn was with him at that time yet never learned any tactics from Ragnar.
Bjorn is right for the greater good of humanity, Ivar should've let this family tiff go...and for the love of his father he would've not wanted vengeance.
Ivar should have rid of when he couldn't walk from the start period. His mother was proud strong ivar mom was brought in out lust an that it. Bjorn said father said I'm grateful to you but in the end that's it.
Ubbe is the only one who fulfilled Ragnar dream. All Ragnar wanted was to be voyager and a simple farme. He became a Jarl because the Old Jarld did not wanted to sail West. In the last Ubbe find new lands and i'm sure he will become a farmer.
IVAR is the legacy! IVAR is the best Son of RAGNAR period! Ragnar told him what to do Ivar kept his promises to his father Ragnar! Bjorn and Hvitserk are second best! Ubbe and Sigurd are less so they both took the side of their mothers killer. That's something Ragnar would have never done! Lagertha killed Ragnars legacy! Rollo made his own legacy!

He didn’t want to kill his family, they merely stood in his way. Ubbe switching up on Ivar and returning home to Lagertha was a scummy move all around and made him a traitor
You are wrong. I hate Aslaug since the beginning but she did rule Kattegat without Ragnar for about 10 years. Just her, as a single woman, emotionnaly lost and look how Kattegat grew while both Ragnar and Lagertha were far away. And Ragnar never loved her but he respected her, as he said to her at the end and was grateful to her. Ivar did horrible things (specially when he was King) but the truth is that Lagertha and Bjorn were the true hypocrit of this story. Lagertha killed Aslaug for a story old of decades and then gives lessons to Ivar like "It's all the past Ivar, put out differences aside" Yes put the differences aside and do what is best for common good is the wisest thing to do BUT not everyone can do it and Bjorn or Lagertha never did !

In Ivar's final moments he acted like he wasn't afraid of death, shouted battle cries and led his warriors in the battle in such a fearless way that even king of Wessex realized how great Ivar the boneless was.
Fearing of death and not believing in the gods - two if the most non-vikings characteristics dominated two of the greatest vikings of all time. What a great story.
@@PatoNani18 Finally someone gets it! Kudos 👏🏼 It doesn’t take away from the stories at all. It adds to it, if anything.
Walked out like a straight up G! I ain't bothered
He's right tho bjorn would've done the same.
Boy i bet Harald regrets this moment lol
“All that is in the past now, Ivar” that’s why kvitsvik should of said to Bjorn when bjorn was confronting him about his mother lol
Ivar is afraid of bjorn
The other way around judging by Bjorn's face during the battle.

King Haralds random Indian accent at 1:42 had me gone 💀💀😂😂
Hello sir, this is Harald from Kattegat viking support. You have Ivar in your castle. Please give me 50 horses and I will remove the Ivar from your castle
King Harold was a real one for that
Ivar is very clever, reckless yes but clever too.He says:"It's worth a try".
Exactly!!!
Ivar, on the other hand, fears the reaction of King Harald. His influence is pretty awesome.
You mean she killed that crazy annoying witch bitch? Under her watch Little Siggy died and she was just smiling on it? Almost two of Ragnars sons died when she was fucking with Harbard.
Real talk they
You fucking stupid Ivar mother was evil bitch had no honor! The fools her agree with this shit lol
Damn, I don't even remember this scene
Yep Mr. Bjorn aka double standards.
Ivar: If i kill you now, you will be in past too
I don't think Ivar attempting to kill Bjorn was his main goal in this moment.
Great thinking!
Harald: Killing Bjorn under a banner of truce is not our way.
Also Harald: Trying to kill Bjorn after an election even though the only reason I'm alive is that he tried to save me from Viking Buddha is our way, though.
He saved Bjorn and nearly died. What are you saying lul
@@avekatten3207 did you watch the latest episode? Harald does try to kill Bjorn: ua-cam.com/video/FXliSsJIl5A/v-deo.html

Who would've thought jelouse king Harold wiuld stop the elimination if his competition. That guy is the opposite of littlefinger.
Mtume Umrani hes never been a bad guy....... Out of all the people I’d follow it would have to be him and ubbe
Harald throughout the seasons had many opportunities to let Bjorn die and keep his hands clean, but he didn’t do it. I think despite everything he said and did, those moments reveal who he really was.
Funny how Harald was against this here but in the new season he sends for Bjorn to be assassinated.
Well, it is okay to send assasins to kill him and there is no shame or dishonour in this way of killing someone but it is certainly dishonourable to kill him when he is your guest and unarmed.
Because the situations were different here Bjorn is an emissary, while a season later he is Harald rival for the throne.
Also important to understand that Bjorn is the most famous Viking alive at this point Harald regardless of their rivalry respects Bjorn and understands this he would not let the main symbol of Vikingism die like that it would have been an utter disgrace not only to Bjorn himself but everything he has achieved
I hate what they have done with king Harald
Ya'll think Aslaug really bewitched King Ragnar as Lagertha claims?
I do.
Nah Ragnar & Bjorn just can't keep their pants on for one freaking minute.
Thats what they all say
Bjorn should of said “for the sake of our father” to lagertha before she killed Aslaug loll
Ragnar would truly be ashamed of what Ivar would become, a monster and a horrible king
Ashamed my ass, he would be proud of Ivar since he became the most famous viking that ever lived in history.
@Pure Scrub did Bjorn not become more famous? But he didn't kill his fucckin brothers to do so innit
@@purescrub8187bjron literally was the most famous man in the Vikings world ivar was the most feared get it right 💀
If someone killed my mother, I’d seek the same. Ivar is total BA.
He didn't even flinch
I think that Rollo would not betray Bjorn and that they already made a deal before Hvitserk went and asked for help If im wrong then any small bit of respect i had for Rollo is gone.
ShamGB your wrong. Rollo even told Ivar where they were hinding after they refused his “help” Bjorn should have killed him
Doredar He did it knowing they would be gone by the time he got there. That’s a strategy to show that he’s still on his side.
Geniusly! 😊
And yes, revenge is a fools game. Sometimes it is better to let the past behind you and go on...
Bjorn was called Ironside for a reason dude didn't feel threatened at all his just so relaxed like its nothing
I think the reason why rollo allied with ivar is cuz rollo wanted bjorn as his second and if bjorn loses the battle rollo would propose him his army and to join him.

King Harald: Its not our Way!

LoL.
Lagetha started all this shit but everyone blaming Ivar…. Nobody told Lagetha to leave Ragnar when she did…… gawd she’s annoying
Agreed, had she just let Aslaug leave, none of this would be happening.
All Ivar want is justice for his mother that's all he wants and is getting heated for it. I get that's your mum Bejor but Ivar is your brother you shouldn't be apart of this fight. Let them deal with it themselves they can handle themselves.
Mother vs half brother. We all know bjorn was/is a huge mamas boy. No way he ever lets anything happen to lagertha willingly.
I've watched this scene more times than I'm comfortable admitting to. 🤦🏽♂️
Bjorn punked every dude in the room😂😂😂😂
God, it really says something that Harald is the one telling Ivar he's doing something wrong, with all the messed up stuff Harald had done....
Couldn’t watch this show after rangnar died. Nice to see burins actor really filled out his role. But unpopular opinion but ivar really ruined it for me.
1:41 Harald defends him damn
It was worth a try!!!
Look ivar can be a prick but hes completely right to avenge his mother
Ivar dont give a shiet honor..... he doesnt need that ... he is smart and evil thats his strength
"Honour means nothing to a corpse"
@@TheHighborn I can understand what you mean honor is important even to me... but in the Art of war ....you know is not the same... Ivar wants to be like Headmund if you remember, but he was a cripple , so he have two options, live like a cripple or live like a viking even if he needs to be evil or ruthless ,people will fear him. ( Remeber Ragnar last words) .
Bjorn was the biggest hypocrite on the show
You have to admit he's been put in an impossible position, it's his mom. This is all Lagertha's fault, there was no way killing Aslaug was not going to have repercussions.
You blaming bjron but you don’t blame his mother ?? Are you serious? If you were in bjron shoes you would literally do the same shit 😂😂
IVAR is less than trash, Bjorn is the only true son of the great Ragnar.
So too is Ubbe.
Ivar has all of Ragnar's intelligence, battle planning, and overall rage. He is the truest son of Ragnar, Bjorn is dumb as rocks.
Bjorn is not the true son of Ragnar. hence, he's Son of Rollo.
My favourite character harald fair hair!
When ivar said"you would do the same bjorn" I rlly wish bjorn said"your mother would be dead by now"
king harald saving ivar's guard getting killed 🤣
I fail to understand how getti g rid of a cripple was so hard
I still dont get why rollo sent his army against bjorn...
To do a deal with Ivar for spares bjorn life.
I think he knows that ivar was going to won that battle, so he prefer to do a deal.
As Rollo says, "What is us is changing"
He also wanted to save his son.
@@Thunder-Ghost wow
“All of that is in the past Ivar”. Yeah, kinda like Hvitserk killing Lagertha right?
It was worth a try 😂😂
*Ivar has no honor or principles.*
He was willing to break a truce and murder his brother Bjorn while he is a guest and surrounded by enemies. It was the ultimate insult and disrespect to their culture, religion, and tradition. But, this should be expected as Ivar also murdered the Seer because he told him he wasn't a god, and Ivar was too much of a sensitive narcissist to accept it.
He learned that from Ragnar
Ragnar invited Earl Borg in the pretext of peace but captured and blood eagled him, Bjorn was with him at that time yet never learned any tactics from Ragnar.
Attitude
I fckn love Ivar he is a true king and the only real son of Ragnar
Bjorn is right for the greater good of humanity, Ivar should've let this family tiff go...and for the love of his father he would've not wanted vengeance.
You kill anyone’s mother, don’t be surprised if the son’s wanted you dead.
If the roles were reversed would Bjorn let it go? By his own admission he said he'd do the same, so..
Ivar should have rid of when he couldn't walk from the start period. His mother was proud strong ivar mom was brought in out lust an that it. Bjorn said father said I'm grateful to you but in the end that's it.

Bjorn is the truth i keep saying this all his other siblings besides ubbe fulfilled their fathers dream
Ubbe is the only one who fulfilled Ragnar dream. All Ragnar wanted was to be voyager and a simple farme. He became a Jarl because the Old Jarld did not wanted to sail West. In the last Ubbe find new lands and i'm sure he will become a farmer.

He didn’t want to kill his family, they merely stood in his way. Ubbe switching up on Ivar and returning home to Lagertha was a scummy move all around and made him a traitor
If it was your mama would you be saying the same thing?
You are wrong. I hate Aslaug since the beginning but she did rule Kattegat without Ragnar for about 10 years. Just her, as a single woman, emotionnaly lost and look how Kattegat grew while both Ragnar and Lagertha were far away.
And Ragnar never loved her but he respected her, as he said to her at the end and was grateful to her.
Ivar did horrible things (specially when he was King) but the truth is that Lagertha and Bjorn were the true hypocrit of this story. Lagertha killed Aslaug for a story old of decades and then gives lessons to Ivar like "It's all the past Ivar, put out differences aside"
