But let's touch on the real reason the Puma does well with Phly at the wheel. Every time Phly sees a Puma, it's like a red rag to a bull. *Must kill*
But if Phly's the one driving the Puma, there's no Phly out there to kill him. Everyone else sees it and goes "Oh, it's that Sonderkraftfahrzeug 234 or whatever you call it. Noonie noonie noo."
Logically, a Phly Puma is safer than a non-Phly Puma.
Day 49, I think: Take the Scimitar, the last Supermarine, out for a spin. You got quad 30 mm and 20 kg/s burst mass, you got 24 chances to find out if British AP rockets actually do anything... though the Sea Hawk is better for that. But, yeah, Scimitar.

there are people out there knowing what it can do, that don`t underestimate it. anoying for when you play the puma but logical, and then there are people who never gave it a chance at higher tier and think it is useless

Hey Phly! About 3 years ago you made a video about the AMX-30B2 BRENUS and how it was one of the worst MBTs in the game. Well today the BRENUS has had quite a glow up, as it now boasts a pretty nice array of tools at the comfortable BR of 8.3, such as thermals, a laser rangefinder, IRCM, and a pretty nice lineup to back it up. So I encourage you to take a look at this underappreciated vehicle again (day 13)

@@Ballistics_Computer yeah but most of the time when playing it like the meta. I love all of the AMX-30s but on 8.3 it has the highest skillcap of all the medium tanks.

Yes but to save weight they made the roof 0.1 mm of aluminium and when it was tested the speed of the tank kicked up rocks that fell down on the tank and killed it's crew
One of the other benefits of scouts- even players with near zero situational awareness will gravitate towards scout tags, meaning you end up with fewer team members out of formation and useless in a fight. And when it's a scout with a good enough gun to contribute? You get this.
I was playing it at 11.0 BR and actually doing pretty well. The trick is hide and spot, wait for enemy team to drive past you. And start shooting the stragglers in the back and work your way toward the front line. I even penned and one shoted a T80 from the front through the turret ring.

One of my favorite German vehicles. It truly compliments every lineup for Germany until the modern times.
Frankly, it deserves a BR on par with SARC 6lber or M24. I hate how German vehicles almost exclusively have lower BR's for comparable vehicles and in many cases vehicles that are objectively better. I laugh every time I see a Chi-Nu knowing it's at 3.3 the same as the Panzer IV F2 and G when those both have better everything compared to the Chi-Nu.

@@erke7835 The T-50 isn't as good as the Puma. The Puma has smoke, a better gun and while the T-50 has okay armor, it's turret traverse is abysmal and it's armor is really only good at that BR. At higher BR, the Puma is better served as no armor can save you from an APHE detonation. And the T-50 doesn't scout and it's APHE round gets through like 70mm of armor? It's not great. But at 2.7, it's a bit of a bitch. The one other tank at 2.7 I agree is really low in BR is the M4A3 105, but we can find bad BR's in every single tree. It just doesn't change the fact that Germany, hands fucking down, has the most ridiculously favorable BR's in the entire game.
@@adamg7984 I played it on 5.7 a few days ago and bounced three shots before dying, two from an EBR. The T-50 can also scout, check your facts. Can also oneshot Panthers in the side so it does definitely put in work even at 5.7. With the rest I can agree

I was just saying the T-50 is pretty cool to play at higher BRs aswell, I'm having a ton of fun in that thing and I'd like to see a vid on it is all. Also I'm not doing so well against KV-1s in my Puma but that's probably bad luck/skill issue

I remember using my Puma as my scout choice in my 7.3 lineup alongside my Leo 1, that thing is just so versatile and useful
Doing the Same thing with the BT-7A F-32 with the T-34 76mm gun. Pairs up nicely with the IS-2
the intro reminds of the time when I was sitting near C cap in the giant version of the eastern province map.
I was in my german bulldog waiting for someone to creep out of the forest and try to cap C. when an enemy bulldog parked near my bush. we both looked at each for like a second.(but it felt like an eternity) and then we both got gaijined. He shot first then i shot first. neither of us caused damaged. he fired again and only took out my driver. I got him in my second shot. it was super awkward. like were less than 20m apart.

The absolute best lower tier tank to use at higher tiers Ive found is for sure the BT7 F32 event vehicle from a few years ago. Its not as fast as the puma and has a little less pen but the round it has is magic at top tier and the turret traverse is a lot faster. Its my go to for grinding SL via god modes at top tier lol. I highly recommend checking it out, it hasn't had too much cover in the past.
Changing my spawn order to take out the lights first and mediums and heavies at the ende, roughly 12 month ago, significantly raised my KD and SL/RP income, solid advice
I'm planning to do that. I've seen some enemies do that and its really hard to kill them towards the end
The late game SPAA spawns are another good reason to save the heavier stuff for later.

OMG make a series of taking low tier ground vehicles into high tier matches! I use m22 locusts at every br, it's honestly the most fun I've ever had in war thunder

Day 135: Phly, you should play the Hawk III Chinese fighter; 900lbs of bombs in a biplane at 1.0 that you can dogfight in after dropping. Totally balanced.

puma is my most played tank, near thousand games in it i use it at any tier

I have this thing in my 7.3 German line up and it kills no problem.
The Puma is an evil vehicle. I've taken it up to 6.3 before (my friends dragged me up with their Tigers) and because its so fast you can get around the sides of the map and do naughty things.
Panzer IV F2 and Marder III H are also decent at 6.3. They didn't have enough armour at 3.3 to survive short 75s, so there's no real difference in survivability at 6.3. And the guns are more than good enough to kill Jumbos if you know where to shoot.
Kinda funny given the puma was mid-late war tank, so historically the 5.0 to 6.7 range would be the vehicle's it actually could've faced
The BR was not made based on its historical time. It is based on its performance

when i played germany i only stop using the puma when i got the BMP-1, i unironically went all the way with 7.0 or something with the puma as my second vehicle
So Puma is great even in much higher BR, but I just wanna ask, since I play british tanks, how does SARC 6-pdr do in simular BR as shown in this video? Is it wort it to take SARC to ~6.7 BR?

I can't tell if Phly sounds like winnie the pooh or a surfer, but I love it just the same
puma is realistically competitive up to 7.7. it's performance is on par with most MBTs from a mobility standpoint, and because no armor=best armor, it's decently survivable. the firepower is OK ish. if it pens, it kills. but it's effective pen with it's APC explosive filler round is something like 60mm.
But it has over 100mm pen?
@@austriankangaroo base pen stat doesn't mean jack on the battlefield. if you want to kill what you hit in RB or SB, be sure to understand your round and your target. if I know my round has a base pen stat of 149mm, I will assume it will reliably pen 100mm of armor at most distances, up to a certain angle. the UFP of a panther is 80mm sloped at 55 degrees. you won't pen that with AP from the sherman's 76 (which is the aforementioned 149mm of pen) on a flat-ish field at any range.

I just started playing the game again a day or 2 ago after a 3 year break and I just unlocked the Puma. I was terrible at the game before but by using the Puma it helped me to understand how to actually play the game in tank RB

A big issue with bringing a low tier vehicle with a higher tier vehicle is earning RP towards unlocking a tank at a higher is severely reduced. So there is not much incentive to do so.

T-50 works well up tiered for Russia. Pretty fast, decent pen. Fast reload and can't be killed by heavy MGs. Can even bounce rounds as well.
If you use that the the t-126 must be god tier
