    I admire your courage in digging in so deeply to this model. I just received mine, and now know I need no mods whatsoever. You have done a tremendous service for everyone who bought this Jeep. And I am so impressed by the quality of the manufacture. One note: the model I received now comes with the newer FMS transmitter which has the DIP switches. I actually prefer this radio, so thumbs up! Thank you Donald!

      Check mainly bearings in the outer axle areas and maybe gears (those probably after several submarine runs).

    You did an awesome review on this unit. I'm wondering if a slightly larger battery would fit if that molded in back stop was removed.

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  2 роки тому

      Thank you. Yes, for sure, if you wanna make some cuts in the plastic under the hood, slightly larger batteries will for sure fit, if they have the right form.
      However, I recommend better to buy some more Lipos and change more ofteh ;-) (for example the famous Turnigy 300 mAh 2s fit easily and are cheap).

    • @christopherbrown5338
      @christopherbrown5338 2 роки тому

      @@donaldsneffe It comes with a 380 mAh. I would want something larger than 380, but if I can not find one, I'll probably end up just getting a 2nd one. Mine will come today and then I will know what I'm working with.

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  2 роки тому

      @@christopherbrown5338 The "old ones" of RocHobby/FMS/Hobby Plus have the same size but 600 mAh. Not sure, if that is true (never tested).
      You will see, if any larger battery fits - but probably you'll also find some small ones locally. Switch plugs, not so difficult... they do come with those JST "Losi/Walkera/Syma" style plugs...

    Danke! Wäre cool wenn du den Jimny 1/12 auch anguckst bzw verbessert/modifizierst.

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  3 роки тому +1

      ... leider gibt es bei denen nicht mehr so viel zu verbessern, der Willy scheint echt schon fast perfekt (hab grad etwas an den Blattfedern rumgespielt und die Kabel gekürzt und die Beschriftung ab), beim Jimny ohne Blattfedern wird wohl noch weniger nötig sein.
      Anderer ESC geht nicht, wegen dem genialen Lightcontroller im Board... und 3 Servos, wäre ultra aufwändig (neuer Lightcontroller, Schaltservo, Lenkradservo...) und der ESC ist eigentlich auch ganz gut.

    • @runnerbaba
      @runnerbaba 3 роки тому

      @@donaldsneffe Danke dir. Naja, dann gucken wir mal wie die Serienstoßdämpfer beim Jimny sind. Und ob das Stock-Lenk-Servo ausreicht. Ich habe beim Jimny schon einen Mod des Lenkservos gesehen, das sich das Lenkrad weiter dreht und dazu eine Fahrerfigur mit einem beweglichen Schultergelenk. Beim geschlossenen Jimny ist aber eher die Lenkpower entscheidend, sollte diese zu Schwach sein bzw. wenn das Serienservo mal seinen Geist aufgibt.

    Thanks for taking the "detailed look" above and beyond the call of duty. The only thing that concerns me is the pitiful turning angle of the front wheels... but now that I have seen your review and learned that there is steering trim and the angle is adjustable, some other less scrupulous reviewers may not have had it adjusted for maximum angle. Also, this thing has a TON of options!
    Do you think it needs the universal joint steering of the C34KM?

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  2 роки тому +1

      Steering is ok. Do not think C34 steering would fit (but did not try)

    I just got the willys 1/6 jeep. It looks awesome however it seems extremely sensitive The ma Hal has one small section relating to jumpers in the Sec. It advises to use tweezers to pull or insert this piece of plastic to move it to for and reverse (crawler mode) I am not sure how strongly to pull on this plastic. Can anyone help me understand this

    • @donaldsneffe
      @donaldsneffe  2 роки тому

      It has to get out easily. I never had problems with those. Pull out the plug (Hobbywing 1060 ESC) to get in Crawler mode (forward - direct reverse).
      You can use tweezers or pliers, but normally this should get out only with fingers. Cannot really damage anything, just two pins and a plug that sits on the pins and shortcuts them.
