I had my Jeep out yesterday with my TRX4 Blazer. My wife and adult daughters love these. Wife wanted her own Blazer and Scaler. Its great when a hobby spreads through the family!
O, yeah, what a great performance improvement is your shock update. I just filled them with 25 oil and removed the limiters and it is driving insane. Before when I drove full speed on the field the driver just bumped out and now he gets a smooth ride, incredible. I also found out if you fill your shocks too much they get very stiff so leave out the last 2mm and you get a 100% rebounce and I turned the spring adjustment all the way up. I like your unbiased video's, keep them coming!
Mine came today. I went to my local hobby shop to get a battery and nobody there had seen one so I brought it in so they could see what would fit. Everyone was impressed with the detail and packaging. The shocks were actually very smooth, maybe the factory watches your reviews!
Because of your original review on this vehicle, I bought one! It' just came in the mail a couple hours ago. Thank you so much for the review! A couple things I noticed with mine is that the shocks are great just as it came in the box- RocHobby must have taken your advice and put in the correct shock oil. Also, my Jeep came factory installed with an XT60 battery plug, not a Deans. That's fine by me as I prefer the XT60's and was going to change it out. Thank you again for your excellent videos!
really a good car for the money I'm impressed with FMS/RocHobby got mine last week look forward to doing a couple of these mods, and I agree 100% about having a driver every one of my trail trucks/ crawlers has a driver. 🙏😎☮️✝️
Thanks for youre nice reviews👍 Ive had mine for 2 years now, servo, receiver and controller is still stock. I only had some minor breakdowns and some rusty bearings. And it have way more miles in it than any other og my trucks. Im very impressed with this vehicle.
The ESC is not the reason it's jumpy in reverse. It's the radio which is not sensitive enough. Put in a FlySky receiver, add some expo to the throttle channel and you'll see.
I have been following your reviews on the MB for a while and just ordered one through Amazon after watching. I haven't had a chance to run my TRX4 from Christmas and have have an MB Scaler on the way.
Thanks for these great tips. I just finished changing the shock oil and I painted the engine bay to make it my own look. Looks great now and the shocks are like they should have been all along....
i found that the gear ratio is not 48p it is the TAMIYA gearing, I'm currently running a 12t tamiya gear on a hobbywing fusion on 3s and its everything i could ask for!
Second place. I got it today and now I know way. The drive train is so smooth compared to many of expensive RC crawlers. $300 bucks? They could sell this thing double the price and no one would complaint.
I wish I had seen your video before I ordered a set of pull-off Traxxas TRX-4 shocks: it probably would have saved me $60.That being said, I put a set of the Traxxas shocks on my Axial SCX10 II 1955 Ford F100 RTR on your recommendation, and I really like them. I replaced the plastic servo horn with an extra metal one I had laying around; I have a 1/6 scale WWII soldier on the way for a driver; and I have a FS-B6 receiver on order so I can use my FlySky GT5 transmitter with the Willys. I'm seriously thinking about upgrading the motor and ESC to the Hobbywing Fusion 1800kv system sometime in the future.
I just finished installing the new FS-BS6 receiver to go with my GT5 radio. With the the GT5 radio the throttle is much smoother - slow speed crawling is much improved; there are no more issues with reverse; and there is much better throttle modulation throughout the entire range. And I was able to tweak the steering end points. This is the best $23 upgrade I could have made.
Thank you for confirming that stock shocks with 40w are the right thing to do. And I assume you mean you filled stock shocks with new oil, not after market...
I just ordered one without the tx and rx. What would you recommend without breaking the bank? I was thinking about using my DX6 airplane remote but now I think I want to get a tx with a wheel?
Hello ! My wife doesn't hank you. ;) I look this video a lot of time and finally I buy one. Very happy with it. My bank account nont... lol Thank you for your videos really nice and well detailled each time. ;)
Wish I had seen this video before I ordered new shocks. Well, I went ahead and ordered some shock oil and slime to try out your suggestion. I have the real thing in my garage waiting for a bit warmer weather to finish putting it back together so for now, the 1/6 scaler will have to do. I ordered the top and the trailer and that should be here on the 4th! I think I will try removing the cushion as you suggested as my driver does seem a bit tall. To be honest, I'm only 5' 10" and in the real thing, I'm a bit too tall. So a scale 6 foot or more guy is really too tall. :) Another thing I want to do is to put some tail lights on it. Also fix the Black Out Driving light that sets on the fender. This should never be on when the headlights are on. So I need a switch to turn off the headlights and on the BO light. Great video. Thanks!
Anybody changed the grease in the gearbox? The grease in there is almost like syrup. It had found its way into the bearings as well. They were almost locked up. Had to clean them in alcohol and reapply bearingoil. After removing the grease and replacing it with a high quality one, it runs much better. Motor temperatures are lower too.
great ideas, I did the shocks and the flex it's insane now. the only thing I have notice its the front steering doesn't allow the full flex on the driver side as the steering bar touch the front bumper, can I remove the whole bumper ? the magnet to hold the body ( brilliant idea)
Thanks for the video. As for changing the pinion the explosion views show how to get into the gearbox. You'll need to window one screw hole since the motor with have to change position with the smaller pinion. Biggest question is I don't know what the pitch or module the gearing is to match a new pinion. If you find that out, please post it.
Thanks for your review and tips for upgrades. I just got my MB scaler and can you please tell me which servo horn you used and where can I get one? Thanks!
My 1/6 MB crawler front wheels servo barely turns 10 degrees. The servo horn appears to be fixed at a slant. How can I get max turning radius? Need you advise, Francis. Everything else with this rig is awesome
Awesome video and tips, I just received mine, and right out of the box I noticed that the steering wheel isn’t turning along with the front wheels?? I looked underneath and it appears everything is attached, could it be a bad servo? Otherwise it rides great, I’m new to the hobby so any suggestions would be great, thanks.
I love the scale look of this rig, but I just don't understand why they made it a 4 link. That ruins the scaleness. The gmade willys has leaf springs but doesnt look near as scale. Is there an in between?
A scale US military vehicle the engine bay should be the same color as the body. In this case it should e OD green. It’s a scale vehicle you should learn to drive it with it’s short comings.

Do you know where the limiter is? I can’t figure it out.

I admit this thing is cool.
My list of trucks keeps getting bigger for my channel/collection haha.
Awesome work man.
👍👍😎⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rochobby just started to make RC Cars. Looking forward for their RC Cars in 2021/2022 - they will be even better.
Great rig, I put some Axial shocks that I had in the parts bin, massive improvement, just bought another to customise.
Man you have the best rc videos. Thank you for awesome content!
Is that your laundry being run in the background? lol Love your reviews and the sense of humor you add.
Hi Your reviews are in my view the best of the best....Thank you
Changed the shock oil, what a difference!! Thanks!
Just push the window frame down a little hard w wipers up clicks right in no need for magnet.😁
Another great video! Thank you for all the great videos in 2020👍👍
Amazing articulation with the shock oil swap! Very impressed... thank you for the great tips my friend.
Cheers from Ireland!
;)
Thank you! Cheers! Remove the travel limiter too.
@@RCReviewChannel Will do! Love my little jeep!
;)
Thanks for the shock tip. They are still sticky in 2024 😅
Good to know. They're prolly all old stock
I have been following your reviews on the MB for a while and just ordered one through Amazon after watching. I haven't had a chance to run my TRX4 from Christmas and have have an MB Scaler on the way.

Could you make a detailed video to show how you proceed step by step to change the oil of these schocks please? Thank's
Nice video, thinking of getting one for myself.
I Like mine so much, I ordered another one.

Very excited about getting mine soon ☺
I am looking forward for great videos from RC Review in 2021. Thank you
Thank you and Happy New Year!
Get a driver , Amen brother ! 👍 I feel the same way.
Thanks for sharing; And apart from the shocks, they seem like simple upgrades too.
Excellent video. Great information.

I miss leavesprings so bad! "Ghostdrivers in the sky!" Ha ha!
Hi Mr RC Review, thank you for this tips that have to be added at all the other ton you give us. Happy new yer and best wishes. Ciao Nanni
Swap the TX an RX as well, for smoother control. TRX-4 shocks fits perfect.
I just ordered one without the tx and rx. What would you recommend without breaking the bank? I was thinking about using my DX6 airplane remote but now I think I want to get a tx with a wheel?
@@michaelebersole6989 Every TX you like.

Great to hear! Welcome to the addiction
Absolutely love mine. I replaced the shocks and servo the day I got it. Been adding accessories like crazy for details. Amazing, life-like rig.
Do you know what spline the stock servo horn is? The plastic one worries me
@@mospeed3224 25T servo horn. I actually replaced the servo with a higher torque one, but the stock servo is 25T

Thanks for your review and tips for upgrades. I just got my MB scaler and can you please tell me which servo horn you used and where can I get one? Thanks!
Good review...thanks....BTW, what battery are you using? Ordered my Jeep Fri.
Could you do a video on water proofing all the electrics
I got the 1/12 problem I got is the axel is loose and makes my drive shaft come out what is the fix
I've just ordered one! Could you tell me how many teeth the steering servo horn has?
Any driveline upgrades
What is a good battery help
Would definitely put the leaf spring kit on it to make it more scale to the real ones
Somebody put a hobbywing fusion in this FMS?? Tks 👍

Is the chassis like a scx10
I've got 2 of them and I made Grampa's Jeep (a CJ2a) out of one

Anyone have an Amazon link for a proper battery and charger for this vehicle?
I would love to get one of those and mod the crap out of it.
The rear bumper can be adjusted two or three notches in to get better departure angle :) I did it to mine .

Love your content. So are there tires that will fit the stock wheels? Or wheel weights?
Buy 1.9 steel wheels.
28Jan22, the trailer is now about $140 (usd)! It's cool but not THAT cool, lol.

Roc hobby makes the leaf spring kit for the mb and the mashigan yj
is that rock pile in cupertino, and what is the address?
Where do we find the full figure action figures
What is the recommended battery for this? I cannot find information on the best battery to use. Thanks.
You can use up to 3s, I fit a 5000mah in it
Does anyone know if these can be converted to leaf springs ?
would this body fit on the rc4wd chassis ?
Where can I find 25 weight shock oil without buying a huge quantity?
In the rc hobby store.
order one , many thanks¡¡¡¡¡¡
Hello! Why did you use my photo at 8:11 without my premission?

The body rod will store under the hood.
Get rid of that set up use scx2 done. Then you can mess w pinion.
