    I have a yellow geyri who is domestic raised. He is amazing. I worked for months to build a relationship with my Lenny James. Everytime I went to the pet store I asked the clerk if I could hold him and would spend a lot of time holding him. I do not regret my decision getting Lenny. I love him so much.

    Uromastyx is by far the best reptile as a pet aside tortoises.. they eat veggies and are super friendly and can even remember their owners face and voice

    This has helped me to finally decide fully to wait a few more years to get this amazing species. Great video man, the complete lack of info and debates on said info has made it ROUGH to be able learn about their needs.

      @@RedRibbonReptilesmy favorite lizard to have as a pet is a bearded dragon, never had a uromastyx but pretty sure theyre as easy to keep as a beardie since they both are from the desert but for some reason these guys require hotter than beardies, since beardies like 85 to 92 degrees Fahrenheit basking where this species needs a 120 degree so damn bit of a jump on temperature for sure, at least the uromastyx can stand heat up to 120 so overheating health problems are less common in them since they can stand it hotter

    Great video. Arids Only is owned by Phillip Lietz. He breeds ornates,, Thomas and (?) He spends time socializing them as well. His gorgeous blue ornate are fascinating. And I am totally in awe of his big Egyptian. Lots of videos on You Tube.

    Just curiosity, but if I had a dedicated pet room with a sandbox in it and the proper heating requirements, could one just roam around like a cat?

      I don’t know if it’s a great idea just because they can squeeze in tight places and if it’s under like 80 degrees Fahrenheit they slow way down and may not find the energy to get to their heat!

    I really really really want one, I’m still not sure how to feed it. I have bad memory. I need a chart or list of what to feed it so I never forget.

      There are som high quality, filler free tortoise diets out there that make a great staple! Things like Timothy and alfalfa hay. Even millet seed! And of course some things like mustard and dandelion greens and squash as healthy treats!

    Buy captive bred, and ask for proof of it from breeder. Do your research and ask the reptile community to find a quality breeder .

    • @RedRibbonReptiles
      @RedRibbonReptiles  Рік тому +1

      He’s definitely an adult size but reptiles grow throughout their lives. His species, the Saharan Uromastyx (uromastyx geyri), won’t get a whole heck of a lot bigger than him though on average!
