Not sure how the normal natural variant is more expensive than a fair amount of ball python morphs. My albino costed less than a regular hog nose costs rn it’s dumb

If you fuss them under the chin they will calm straight down. Also they are very dippy when it comes to strike feeding but they can't help it and it's kind of funny as a rule

You are right about the retic/anaconda thing(though some say the really long retics, especially in captivity, unfortunately where they're often over fed, are the longest and heaviest), but I dont think those lengths you gave are considered reliable. Not saying they're wrong, just that there is scientific(or other) evidence to corroborate the claims. As far as i know, the largest accurately measured snake of any species is(was?) Medusa, the captive reticulated python. The longest accurately measured green anaconda that I'm aware of is the specimen that was just found in the Amazon, and who was discovered to be a separate species from the Amazon basin anacondas. It unfortunately died or was killed just days or weeks later. But it was 24 feet long. That's _crazy._. I've seen 16 or 17 foot long green anacondas, and their girth is unreal. They're like over a foot in diameter, and cameras/videos dont do it justice at all. I can't even imagine one that's 24ft long, and with the same proportions. I'm still dying to see footage of this thing.

Just because you hear the term rear Fang doesn't mean they have some super ancient delivery system that's just incapable a boomslang is a rear Fang snake and a millisecond of it biting you you're screwed it it's just that the Hognose is Venom is weak

Breeding these guys is not impossible. I've done it about 3 times by accident. I think you're right about the fossorial attribute. I don't have mine on an intricate substrate like that, it's just coconut husk, but I do keep it about an inch deep or so, which does let them dig a bit. I think the secret is brumation. I live in Florida and there was one year we had bad weather that knocked my power out for a few days. I remember being so worried for my animals but they really ARE bullet proof and they made it out ok, but my big male started to display behaviors I hadn't seen before that I'm certain are courtship behaviors. At that time I had 2 males and 1 female. When the bigger male would strut, he'd attack the other one. I ended up separating the males to avoid conflict. When I did, I had the big guy alone and he seemed... sad about that. So I ended up getting another lizard ( luckily it was another female ) and had the 2:2 set that was my mainstay. The big male did mate with the female when I had them together. The first time was when I went out on a family cruise. I came back to egg shells. Either he or they ate the eggs while I was gone. Second time, again, I didn't see it happen but I found the egg as I was upgrading their enclosure. That time I was able to take the egg before they could eat it, but I didn't have an incubator ( and still don't ) so I couldn't hatch the egg. I kept it quarantined from the parents in a spare enclosure I used to keep them in under an additional heat lamp. To my surprise there was a superworm in that substrate and IT ate the egg. The third time, I DID SEE THEM mating but I never fond eggs afterward. I've been keeping my Plated Lizards for 12 years ongoing now. My two males passed away last year but (as of writing this) I saw that my local pet shop had gotten two males in stock yesterday and I wanna pick them up. PS: I've given you a Sub. If you have any updates about Zilly, I'm all ears and I hope all is good!
