Known as the "Gentle Giant". I was honored to work personal security for him at a concert event in 1991or 92. I spent a full day and most of the night with him and he was just the nicest guy. His back was in such bad shape he had to perform from a chair most of the time. Even in serious pain, he put on a wonderful show.
Love his voice and music! RIP Mr. Williams. When he passed away the press referred to him as the singer of plainspoken country songs and was known in the industry as "The Gentle Giant". My favorite song of his "I Believe in You" is more relevant today than when it was first released! Love from Texas 🤠
This is real country!!! Thank you for reacting to Don Williams!! I grew up listening to Don Williams, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Sr and Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and the like! 4:05
Don Williams was always one of my favorite country singers and in my opinion one of the most underrated. At least he was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame several years before his death. I think the style of Don Williams, smooth and mellow is what Jim Reeves could have evolved into had he lived into the 1970's and 1980's.
I wouldn't say he was underrated, not to me anyway. Although, when I was a little kid in the 70s I thought country music in itself was underrated. So by comparison to all the other country artists at the time, he wasn't anymore underrated than his peers. He IS underrated these days in a sense that no one talks about him anymore, like a lot of country musicians. With the exception of Haggard, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and a couple others.
This was one my old mans favorite songs. So many of my favorite memories of him are wrapped up in these lyrics and chords. I still think about him nearly everyday. He looked ir right in the eye the whole time. Never flinched. I miss him terribly
Great voice singing one of the most articulate, intelligent country songs ever written. You guys continue to pick great music and I love your reactions. You're a great couple and I appreciate the attention and consideration you give to every song you listen to me. In this case, I have to disagree on one important point --I actually think this song is very deep and meaningful when you get a chance to listen to it a couple of times. But to each his own. Keep up the good work.

Another great reaction of one of my all-time favorite old school, country artist!
Hank Williams and Tennessee Williams were influences in his life. As was Thomas Wolfe.

Bad track!!! All you need is his voice and the guitar. Don't need all that other junk messing the song up.
