Spey Fishing // Summer Runs Of Fall

In this steelhead spey fishing video, I set out on another fall spey fishing solo trip in search for summer run steelhead in the fall. With the spey rod in hand, I swung prime fishing runs in search for these summer steelhead on the swing. Spey fishing is one of my favorite ways to catch this aggressive hard fighting fish. Swinging flies for summer run steelhead has its challenges but on this day I was lucky enough to find a couple of fish in one run. During the fall on this river there were steelhead , salmon and trout all willing to take a swung fly. I Enjoy the challenge of catch steelhead in the summer and winter months all year long in Oregon and Washington. I fly fished for steelhead and salmon all along the west coast all the way to Alaska. Spey casting can be challenging and fun.Thanks for watch and I hope you enjoy this spey fishing action.

All the hatchery fish I kept off of the Deschutes this year tasted like algae. Just horrible! I won't be keeping anymore from the Deschutes. Such a waste...

Hi steve, my set up was pretty simple. The sun was on the water so switched to a skagit head, 10ft T11 sink tip and three feet of leader. thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment. Keep on swingin!!
