Fun fact about Bill Dance- He was actually accepted into/enrolled in medical school at the University of Tennessee. One night driving home from class he happened upon a horrible motorcycle accident on a lonesome highway. He was unable to save the dying man. He said in that moment he decided he'd rather just go fishing. So, he dropped out of med school and did just that.
Understandable
Legend has it, he is still fishing.
I bet Bill Dance don't wear flip flops on a shore line are on any of his boats
@@barrykelly4706 not when he is as scared of snakes as he is lol
That is wild!
When I think of the words ‘paradise and happiness’ I visualize your backyard. 👍
Haha love that!
Gorgeous back yard or better said paradise
Bro, I would never leave that canal ever. I’d be so addicted to fishing it constantly. Youre a lucky man!
haha some days I dont!
The jump and the show is what gets you addicted to catching them.
Haha right
3:14 watching tuna freak out was the funniest thing I’ve seen all day
Lol right
Too Funny. Madeline at 3:15-20. "Ooooh, where's my phone!". Love you guys. Keep doing what you're doing, we'll keep watching
haha thanks so much! 🙏
What a surptise, mid week video, yay. Loved Madeline response to the first hook up, classic!
Haha right! Thanks for tuning in!
I remember as a boy visiting South Florida, how excited and awed I felt walking up to a Mangrove shoreline, getting to peer within, knowing that there were innumerable fascinating creatures that I might encounter. And you can do this anytime at your wonderful little backyard cove, which I assume is directly connected to the entire ocean system.
Some are landlocked till next rainy season when the sandbarr is breached
My sediments exactly
There is nothing like it. That feeling hasn’t changed.
Find his vids where he swims right out from his house there and spear fishes just outside of the canal! It's titled something about lunch or something.
Dude your smile after you lost the first one was huge!!!! Pure joy!!!! I spent all my time in high school fishing for them here in Tampa…. Glad you finally got a tarpon under your belt now. Now go get a 150+, an aj ain’t got nothing on a green tarpon.
Haha it was pretty wild to see. Not something i ever do
Freaking A Mr. Young that tarpon hook up was wicked. All in the comfort of you're own home too bravo. What a Wednesday evening.
Haha thanks for tuning in!
I just have to say I'm so happy for you you have so many followers now. You're doing great. Been watching you from the beginning when you had just a handful of followers.
Definitely have been growing! Thanks so much for the support and continuing to watch!
"set the hook like Bill Dance" hahaha that guy used to be my freakin hero, got me interested in fishing and outdoors as a little kid. I remember how hard he used to set those hooks on his bass XD
Haha he was always a hoot
Happy to see you're not jaded to the simple yet exciting little things like this. You have a wonderful back yard and I'm glad you can enjoy it. Thanks for showing us!

Thanks for the videos, they're my breakaway from reality.
Keep well.
G - South Africa
Really love to hear it! Thanks for tuning in
You experienced the best, most exciting part of the fight…trying to fight and land a tarpon on light tackle in a small space could end up hurting or killing it. It’s fun when they’re devouring bait like that!
was pretty wild!
That escalated quickly. Looks like fun! And what a lucky opportunity to make a quick video. Cool. Now if you could get snook up in there..
Was a bit a fun! thanks for tuning in
LOL ... You no Tarpon!!! Virgin catch in your BACKYARD!! Your Rod/Reel catches are .... Awesome!!
Haha thanks for watching
ARRON you living in the top .0001% of the world 🌎! Soooooo happy for you buddy
I’m tryin!

Haha thanks for watching
Aaron I once went to Cuba..... Back in the day & I'm South African so we can get in... Anyway I was @ a resort that had a lagoon with hundreds of tarpon that I saltwater flyfished into it was crazy!!!! so much fun!!! They have a jaw that is very hard to hook into but that was the fun part u would fool them into biting then they would jump loads of time then the fly would come flying back @ u as they had throw the hook SO MUCH FUN!!!
Men you are the luckiest men on earth having that beautiful backyard I’m jealous. Missing the Florida keys getting so expensive lately 🥴.
I won’t argue that!
Another great vlog i love these back yard fishing so much it amazes me to see all of what you find in that water
Love that you enjoy them! More on the way!
@@KeyWestWaterman thanks much can't wait to see them
Thanks for that.....I always enjoy a break from reality😎
Haha glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your videos! They are a refuge from all of the bad news videos out there.
Love to hear that
Nice, fun, little short episode with some amazing tarpon jumps. Tarpon are known for going airborne when hooked and for being a really fun fight. I've never had the pleasure but it's still fun to watch. Ty.
Pretty wild fish!
Always a pleasure watching
Love to hear it
You two sure have made a great life for yourselves. Makes me happy just seeing it. Been married 21 years myself and boy is it great:)
I won’t argue that! We are very happy!
Awesome!! Like a mini Robbies! That’s why I gave up on braided line. Great videos.
Haha
That was cool, especially it being in your backyard. Another day in paradise! Enjoy
Right!
Loved the video! One of the best hook ups I've ever seen. 😍 So cool that it's literally in your backyard.
Haha thought it was pretty wild had to share!
Glad to see a Tarpon video finally! :D Even though they are a catch and release its so awesome seeing big ones landed. You gotta keep on tryin!
Haha for sure
This video was pretty cool. Wish you could have landed one of those tarpon. As soon as you said you were going to try to get one. I automatically thought you better get ready for a great aerobatic flying fish
Haha
What a true fisherman. Gouged your finger out with the line and just kept trucking haha!
Lol merely a flesh wound!
I was about to ask to do a backyard fishing. But here it is. 🙏
haha
That is so crazy seeing tarpon that close in a out canal for residents. I guess as you said they are probably relatively young/juveniles, I would take that as a good sign that there's a healthy fish population that are potentially thriving off of. Thats awesome.
Yup! Always cool to see
theres snook and tarpon in golf course ponds where i live lol
That was a fun bite, glad you kept that finger
Haha me too
That was a wonderful show! One of my favs Capt. Thanks for the treat. Excellent camera positions/views. Too bad about the skin flap on your finger, good thing it wasn’t a serious injury; reminder to all to be careful when using braided line.
Looking forward to viewing your next show!
Thanks for tuning in!
Love the Bill Dance quote!!!
Haha
This just made my day man I love the videos and can’t wait to move there my self one day. But thanks so much for sharing this amazing moment
Love to hear it!
I want to thank you for suggesting that rust remover product that you had on your show works great
Love to hear it!
Great short video. They fight hard and are hard to hook up and stay on. Love it and keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
Man you uploaded this, and then the next day I got my first tarpon and first inshore grand slam, keep posting these lmao
Amazing!
Awesome!!! Tarpon are one of my favorite fish to catch! I'm excited to watch this video!!!! And I've hooked over 50 and landed 5. Very hard to keep hooked!
Lol I’m still defeated on them!
@@KeyWestWaterman yeah.... they sure can be a challenge! But the fight is spectacular! A good friend of mine has landed them over 200lbs from the beach!
You definitely need to do a tarpon episode to check them off the list. This is a really sweet video you are living my dream.
Maybe I’ll get to it one day! Haha thanks for watching
I watch them all
I drive 9 miles to get my food, you just walked down to your backyard and hooked a fish. Thats way too cool mate 😃
Haha
Cool video. There is nothing quite like seeing a tarpon dance! They are so much fun!
Pretty wild fish!
Definitely enjoyed it...awsome little video
Thanks for watching!
That is so fun! We used to catch juveniles in the canals in Tavernier same way but we had way more space you do.
Haha it was!

Thanks for coming along!
That was cool, I'm in FL also and tarpon is one of my bucket list fish to catch
Glad you enjoyed it
same thing happened to me the other day fishing in the mangroves. hooked up on something big while i was hand feeding line through the stream of current and it ate it so fast the line snapped the top of my hand so loud it sounded like a gun shot. it'll be up in my next video if you're interested in taking a look. lesson learned indeed 😅
😂
Ha! Nice short vid. Loved it
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was really cool I see why people like to fish tarpon
It was cool to see!
awesome job on the video. keep living your dreams. back yard tarpon, wow. God Bless and stay safe 🙏
Thanks so much
You guys are always awesome
Thanks for watching!
That's the tarpon flip dude, a lot of guys like them flipping out the hook so you don't have to deal with em haha
Lol right
Nice back yard....I chased tarpon from Jupiter , down through
Miami, all of the keys and around the horn to Hommassa...in my thirties.
Thankfully I got over
My obsession. Hooking one is called jumping a tarpon....
And most importantly, when they jump you have to bow to the fish, that is slack the line some or they will spit the hoo, or fall on the leader and break you off.
h
Thanks for the info!
I love these kinds of videos. Keep up the good work 👍
Love to hear it
Need more of this content. Backyard fishing adventures.
Haha glad you enjoy it!
That was great to see you drop the li be in then get a hit instantaneously was awesome
was pretty cool!
Awesome little video! So jealous of your backyard haha
Haha pretty cool back there
Living the good life!! Man I’m jealous.
I’m tryin!
That was great, I used to hook those down there in the closed off canals when we would come down camping as a kid.
Glad you enjoyed it
That was wicked cool brother
Glad you enjoyed it!
I did enjoy your reality break!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's really cool, keep checking out back and hand feeding , they might kind of hang around like puppies ! So cool to hook and jump them, landing them is a completely different story, boniest mouth of any fish I've ever caught. Owner circle hooks all the way. Great little shorty, made your girl jump !!
That’s what i hear!
You're so very very lucky sir Aaron, because you're sorrounded by the beautiful waterway canal through the mangroves forest.
Here in my place mangroves were dying because of the careless boat passing through them, even if they're still young. So they doesnt grow taller than 5 feet. In fact they were all dying. Unlike the place where you are staying. Mangroves were growing old and useful.
that is a bummer so sorry to hear that! ours are very healthy .
Not many get to spend time in the back yard like this. Cool video.
It’s a treat!
Love the cat clearing out!!
Haha right
Simplest but best video!
Glad you enjoyed it
That's amazing having that in your back yard! It's so different than our yard here in Maine! I had a flock of wild turkeys right out my back shop door left week and we have deer and moose browse through often as well. No tarpon though! 🤣
Haha right, but from my perspective that’s amazing!
@@KeyWestWaterman different worlds man, different worlds... 😆
Super fun video !
Glad you enjoyed it!
