So much for not diving alone..again
I understand and never condone diving alone, but in my opinion this isn't "diving". I'm not doing "drops" or extended breath holds. Literally swimming around on the surface. Briefly swimming down to the bottom. I have no issue with swimming alone. I'm gonna pin this comment just incase someone is thinking the same thing. Thanks for tuning in 🙏
Sounds a bit cynical to me Edmondd6124. I think Aaron comes across to me as a responsible person, knowing exactly what he is doing.
It's a concern for some of us older folk, accidents happen out of nowhere.
We understand you are young n healthy but, please don't push your boundaries just for a video. Something to consider, if you will.
Dig all your videos. Love the variety of settings.
(Lol, I would not have believed your "fish story " had we not seen your jig. Lol)
What you guys don’t know is that I’m on Aarons back the whole time.
I know myself, and my limitations as every individual should but that doesn't mean I'll go where Aaron goes and expect the same results. An individual must use their own head...you know, that melon three feet above their hiney, rump, butt, however you prefer to call it! Aaron isn't condoning diving alone, he's diving where he knows he'll be safe because of his professional experience.
Just hearing “Welcome back under water everybody” hits my soul, I can’t explain it 😭
that makes me smile! 🙏
It always amazes me how clear his voice is underwater
For real!!! Me too!
@@KeyWestWatermanMaybe that’s why you are the Bob Ross of fishing, your voice is chill and grounded.
You make us feel with you on the dive in the calmness of the water.
Amen to that...my favorite part of the story/vid everytime.
Just a nice calm dive. You make it look so easy! Thanks again for taking us alongside and telling us how and why you do things! Keep em coming!
was a wonderful afternoon!
Mr Young, I love this one it shows exactly what it feels like to lose a big fish and the determination that it takes to investigate what was lost. This video is very encouraging the content has me coming back for more. You are a true inspiration, wishing you all the best for 2023 and beyond! Shalom!!!!
its definitely what keeps us coming back! so glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much and happy new year!
“Identify, Size & Line Up in a fraction of a second”. It takes me 45 mins to figure out what I want for dinner.
I guess I’m destined to stay in the boat. I’ll live vicariously thru you sir.
😂 too funny thanks for watching as always!
Great show Capitán!
Really enjoyed it and looking forward to viewing your next show… leave us wanting more! Thanks again
thanks so much for tuning in!
my fav show, sincerely. Thanks. Bid you continued success!
Thanks for another great video Aaron. Can't believe you spotted your "one that got away Mangrove" (that was a big boy!). Cheers...
haha seriously couldn't believe it!
What makes this channel unbelievable; is your respect for the ocean, and the life within it. Your love, and respect for the fish you take truly shows your expertise!
its where I feel most at home, I try to take care of it so it will take care of me.
I haven't tuned in for a little bit. Great video though. Thanks for taking me on another adventure bud. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for tuning in!
I'm liking the equipment explanation(s)! 😃👍👏👏👏
love to hear it!
So awesome to be able to come along with you. Very pretty out there and very relaxing. Thank you Aaron. ❤
thanks so much!
really interesting seeing those mangrove roots hanging mid water, I had no idea. Looked gnarly swimming under them though.
love how they look!
I get all giddy every time he jumps in the water too lol love it keep it up can't wait to see the awesome adventures you take and the beautiful fish ya catch and spear thanks for sharing
haha love to hear that, thanks so much! 🙏
It's going to be a huge year for your channel. Congats on your success. You've earned it! :D
either way we are gonna have some fun! thanks so much 🙏
Never gets boring in the life of a fisheman...i miss the calmness underwater and that thing in your chest ,that feeling of what's in store for me today...love the vlog Dibs...
love every minute of it! thanks for tuning in!
Awesome video, dude. I wish we had mangrove snappers like that around the Tampa Bay area. I hope you and Madeline had a great Christmas
when I dove over there I saw more than I've ever seen! haha. thanks for tuning in
The tampabay fishing channel guy slaughters some big snapper not to far from the skyway bridge
That fish you snagged before..... Without a doubt in my mind that fish saw you and couldn't believe he saw you again. Astonished he ran into YOU again. The fish with 9 lives.
haha can't believe it!
When I saw that fish break you off the other day I thought he’s got to go an look for that rascal. Great job man! You’re going to get him one of these days or just let the fish story continue. Love it!!
haha I couldn't help myself!
I stumbled across your Bob Ross video today and I might have to go on a binge watching streak. The amount of time and consideration you put into this channel amazes me. It really is beautiful to see someone doing what they love. Keep it up man!
really love to hear that! I'm just doing my best to enjoy life as it comes. thanks so much
@@KeyWestWaterman i want too do that be a male spear fisherman ?. .
Wow. Seeing the same fish was insanely lucky and awesome. Those snapper you got were even bigger than they looked. Great video once again thanks
haha couldn't believe it! thanks for watching!
Hey Aaron, great start to 2023! Wish you and Madelaine a healthy and very prosperous year my friend!!
thanks so much!
I love your diving videos, I was a commercial diver for several years. I learned to dive in the Marine Corp while stationed in Puerto Rico for 6 months. I have gotten to do a good bit of sport diving in fresh and salt water. The videos always bring back great memories, thank you for sharing. PB
glad you enjoy them thanks so much 🙏
Finding your jig in the fish’s mouth, spectacular! I love it. What a great feeling.
Fyi, my 1 year old and I watch your videos when she goes to bed. She loves "fishing" videos. The long dives without frequent jumps or edits are so relaxing to her.
If you ever have a chance, I'd love to see a travel series that includes other locations like hawaii.
really love too hear that! thanks for sharing! 🙏
My bro..your videos are simply addictive.. You just became my new super hero and not exactly (o not only) because of your fishing/spearfishing skills but your life's philosophy, your humility and your respect for nature. Hope and dream one day share the same reality and happiness as you..sincere greetings from a Cuban who admires you!!
really appreciate the kind words! love to hear you enjoy the videos!
Crazy that that fish was still there and the frigate bird footage was awesome and I could hear it....the Bob Ross was hilarious how spot on it was with the hair. 😂
Thanks for another awesome video
haha thanks for watching as always!
Been a follower for awhile, Aaron. Just got back from my annual family trip to keys. Of course we always make a stop at the restaurant near where you keep the big boat. Imagine me trying to explain to the family the relevance of the dibs big boat on the after meal stroll… lol. Took a nice pic of the boat. Thanks for taking us all along on the water as you do every week,
haha thats too funny! love to hear it, thanks so much for continuing to watch🙏
You have created the best saltwater fishing channel on youtube. Excellent video!
Glad you enjoy it! thanks so much for tuning in!
Great video! Once in a lifetime seeing same fish 2 weeks later with your jig still in it's mouth!! 👍👍😎. Gotta get that jig back 😁
haha still can't believe it!
That is a stud snapper. no doubt in my mind you will harvest that fish. And nice to have a quick video like this one.
its a stud for sure! glad you enjoyed it
How cool is that man! Not many people can say they've actually seen the one that got away!!! I felt your pain all the way up here in Crystal River when she broke off in your previous video, lol... what a stud Mango!
haha was a first for me!
As usual thanks for taking us with you! You still make spearfishing look easy.
Happy to!
I just knew it would make a great video if you went diving to look for that resident bully Mang. I had a feeling he'd be there and now we know. Thanks for going back and for sharing the dive. Gotta get him sometime soon.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve been chasing Michigan white tails for 25 years and have the mounts on the wall to show success and determination. I love the parallels of the old elite snapper and the witty 5 1/2 year old buck, the ultimate game of chess! Good luck getting your jig back 😉
I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it! thanks for watching!
My son and I are about a year into spearfishing, you were a HUGE influence, hopefully this year we will be chartering you for a spearfishing trip!
really love to hear that! its such an amazing sport!
I dive in the Pacific Northwest, and Im super jealous of your warm and clear waters! Come out here if ya ever want to go after some Dungeness crabs and lingcod. Just bring a thicker wetsuit and be comfortable with arm length viz. Great stuff on your channel!
It is definitely on my list to do one day. Hope to get out there!
All those mangroves are delicious & the carcass makes an excellent soup. Good eats! That Gheenoe is perfect for that task
Agreed!
THAT was awesomeness 🎣 I could not leave him be 😂 I'd be tracking that bugger 'til the end of day 🤣 And the next 🏝
haha right!
Awesome again looking forward to a whole new year of this ! It keeps me sane ..
haha love to hear it!
I’ve notice that when your filming these shallow dives that you videos are not jerky at all. Very smooth and easy to follow. Really soothing to watch. Some other channels are very jerky and hard to keep watching! Nice job!! Love seeing my new to me boat every time!! I want to book a charter to spearfish like this video and lobstering this summer!!
I try to stay mellow in the water, but the new camera technology helps alot with the stable shots! and I hope to one day run some trips like this here and there when the new boat is done!
Awesome Capture of the Lost Snapper! The Go Pro definitely is more sensitive than our eyes! Cheers Sir! Looking forward to chartering with you some time this coming year!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏🏻
Great video brother. Awesome you saw that fish again. That's your Moby for this year. Those birds looked like Swallow-tailed Kites.
Haha right! Glad you’re enjoyed it!
Greetings from Taiwan, Aaron. It's great to see you taking advantage of every opportunity to get out there.
thanks for tuning in! just doing my best to enjoy my time here!
Love, love, love, this channel!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I saw a short video yesterday where they caught a big grouper and gutted it immediately. They showed us the heart completely out of the body. It was still beating. So I thought it does make sense to brain then bleed the fish, if their heart remains pumping. Have you ever saw this? Aren THANK YOU FOR SHARING THESE VIDEOS!!!! :-)
really love to hear that! and yes I've seen it dozens of times with all kinds of fish from tuna to swordfish.
I felt when you realized it was the same fish you lost , to lose a fish that size and be able to spot it and see it it’s mind blowing ! Keep the good stuff coming in !!!
haha seriously couldn't believe it!
Happy New year. Thanks for the mini vacation. It's cold here.stay safe. Keep the videos coming..
happy new year! glad you enjoyed it!
I used to live in the Lower Keys from 1978 to 1981 and dive and spearfish all the reefs from American shoals to Sand Key, Kingfish Shoals, the Marquesas Keys all the way out to Cosgrove Shoal, Boca Grande Key and the Tortugas. At 72 I can still snorkel but don't dive much anymore. This video brought back some good memories except I don't think I would bleed fish while I'm still in the water... Thank you!
really love to hear that! wish I could have seen it back then! 🙏
@@KeyWestWaterman Yea it was a special time. Just at the end of old Key West. I was lucky enough to personally know Mel Fisher and Tony Tarracino (Capt. Tony). I even got to meet Jimmy Buffett at a house party once. I did remodeling work in Old Town for a living and helped restore and remodel "many" old conch houses. One of my helpers was an old local, back when I thought someone in their 60's was old, that claims he was a house boy for Ernest Hemmingway...
Crazy..I was just down there visiting my daughter and was out on the water right there in that area wondering if you were out..its was a couple very nice days..cheers mate
indeed it was!
I have now realized I'm addicted to your channel l count th days until you and cooking with clams post 😆. Love all your videos
haha love to hear this! keeps me going 🙏
That was crazy you seen that mangrove snapper again! You got to get him, he has your name on it! That go pro has a great picture. When you showed the comparisent between the 2. I seen snapper far out the other didn't pick up, good choice. Hope yall had a wounderful holiday, happy new year. Looking forward to seeing more of you guys this year. Wish you were on everyday! Can't wait for your deep drop video too! Those are some of my favorites! Well, I wish calm seas and tight lines for you this year. Stay safe brother, and God bless!
haha still couldn't believe it! thanks for tuning in!
Never get tired of your mellow dive trips.
🙏
Coolest ride. If I got one like that I'll fishin everyday. Thanx n enjoy the sea
Whoa! I did see that fish...what a monster! So obvious was the hook in it's mouth too! Great video Aaron. Thank you for a year full of beauty, awesome fishing, and super yummy recipes that always make me hungry, lol. Happy New Year Aaron and Madeleine! I hope it's full of wonderful discoveries, and great adventures!
Still can’t believe it! So glad you enjoyed it, thanks for coming along.
I find it incredible that he finds the time to respond to every comment!
its an unhealthy obsession 😂
Great video, nice to spot the one that got away, next time...thanks for sharing
ill be back! thanks for watching!
definitely my favorite spearfishing Channel .
🙏
Happy New Year to you both. Great footage and great aim too. That is just so cool to watch, happy for you brother.
Micky C
Happy new year! thanks for tuning in!
That’s so awesome you saw that mangrove again. You should name him now. 😂😂😂 awesome video happy new year
haha seriously though!
Awesome video! You teach in a way that makes it easy to grasp a better meaning of technique. I enjoy
love to hear that! thanks for tuning in 🙏
Finally I got to watch this snapper video. It was worth the wait. Love these
Glad you enjoyed it!
Happy New Year to you and your Fiancée! Great video, I cannot believe that you saw the fish that broke off your line from the last time you were there.
Happy new year! haha so crazy!
Another day in paradise. 🐠🐟Thanks for the view as always. Happy New Year, Aaron to you, Madeleine and Tipsy 🥳🎆2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣
Happy new year! thanks so much!
Happy new year! I can't wait to see what you do in 23.
Happy new year! I’m looking forward to it!
Another great video, these never get old keep um coming. Awesome follow up on that hoss snapper!
glad you enjoyed it!
It's amazing how beautiful the mangrove habitat is, and the size of those mangroves! Another great video, congrats on the growth of your channel.
it really is a magical place! glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much 🙏
Insane all the opportunity with the network of those mangrove islands. Surprised you didn't film a snook lurking around with all those snapper. Really quality work you produce there Aaron, both on camera and as a tradesmen fisherman. Thanks for taking us along on the ride. It would be so sick just to have the time.... A small bay boat, a cast net, live well full of swimmers Days like this when the wind lays down and you can harvest some grinds. Super sick, finally had the time to sit down and watch Mondays video 🤙🏼👍🏼
we see some snook from time to time! and so glad you enjoy them, its day like this that I live for. 🙏
Glad to see you back at home.....sorry you missed your target, but nice job on the others. The big ones don't get big by accident. Just a selfish request.....maybe a couple of video clips of the fighter jets that compete for your microphone? I do love the frigates too! Incredible birds. As always thanks for the trip. Only 7 inches of fluffy snow yesterday!
Glad you enjoyed it! And it’s really hard to film them with my GoPros because they are zoomed out. They just look like little specs in the distance!
love all your videos but this one hits my soul. the mangroves are the first place i speared a fish. i go to the lower keyes every year and wish i could be there more. those mangrove images i see in my sleep , and when life gets aggravating i close my eyes and picture the mangroves.
really love to hear that! 🙏
Hey Erin, I really thought you would have caught the fish, lol really wanted to say you did it man.Really enjoy your video. Watching from The Caribbean. Me and my boys really enjoyed watching you get those mangrove snapper, one of our favorite to catch too.
its Aaron* but ill be back for sure! haha still can't believe it!
I'll keep watching as long as you keep posting.
love to hear it!
Said it before and I’ll say it again. I love when you showcase the backcountry! Keep up the awesome content!
I truly love it out there! glad you enjoy it as well!
That was so awesome to see the fish that you lost that day Again very nice video I’m glad that you’re stuck with the GoPro🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
I believe all us fishermen have tales that the average person might question! I personally have a couple that defies logic. Great video, as always. Happy New Year, goin to be a huge one for you and Madeline!!
haha thats what I love about It! love me a good fish story! thanks so much, happy new year
Amazing world down there, thanks.
It sure is!
15:25 I respect you for having that kind of respect for the fish. I love fishing and spear fishing but sometimes I find it hard to go out there and kill the fish. I just have to be in the right mood, some days I don't want to shoot anything and just enjoy the ocean yk? Also, with keeping pet fish I have realised they are so much smarter and personable than a thought and that changed how much compassion I had for them. But knowing that I am just taking what I need and that I am gonna eat the fish and get to share it with my family really helps make me not feel like I'm doing wrong. I appreciate you sharing your mindset with everyone and I hope more people become like you because not enough people have respect for the fish they kill. Also, love the videos man keep it up!
I’ve always felt that way just haven’t talked about it much. But I’m learning I’m not the only one and love to hear it. I remember it even back when i was a kid, how bad i felt watching the fish we caught flopping on the deck. I am apart of the circle of life but it doesn’t mean i can’t respect and a feel for everything i harvest. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I just love these videos….. they are just to calming and relaxing. I want to move to the keys when I get older
love to hear that! 🙏
Great video Dibs! Happy New Year! Pray you and Madeleine have an awesome 2023. Wow, love your channel.
happy new year! thanks for watching!
A buddy just turned me on to your channel. I look forward to watching your videos. Finding the lost snapper is cool. I did that on a snook in 10,000 Islands. My fishing partner lost one, got cut off. Next day, one hour later, same tide, same spot, same mangrove, I landed a snook...it was his, we could tell by the unique "worm hook" he was using, still in fishes mouth.
Haha that is wild! Glad you enjoy the channel and welcome! Thanks for tuning in 🙏🏻
Now that was a fish story!! Good thing you had the video! Keep it up!
haha thanks for watching!
Loving the view and the Bob Ross contrast 😂🤣😂that I needed so much tonight my spirits were low. I'm a liver of fishing and love to now wtf is going on down there right??? Thanks❤ your adorable 🇱🇷HNY
haha love to hear you enjoyed it!
About a dozen years ago I was doing some winter fishing for Chain Pickerel from the kayak. I hooked a nice one but, like your snapper, was on too-light tackle and it took me into some branches. The line snapped and I swore a bit, not least because I worry about leaving tackle in a fish like that.
I was back the next day, fishing the same downed tree, and hooked another nice one. Imagine my surprise when I got it to the boat and found my jig from the previous day in its mouth!
I always hate leaving tackle in a fish. But That is too cool!
I didn’t doubt for an instant that you would encounter the snapper you lost. Thanks for another great episode.
haha I couldnt believe it!
How fortunate to see the one that broke your line....can't wait until the video where you bring him home.
haha couldn't believe it!
Great video, can’t believe you saw that fish again, now you have a quest to find and capture him
haha seriously blew my mind
@@KeyWestWaterman blew mine too,I saw the video when you hooked him
That was a nice snapper that got away and the water is so healthy with fish, also always enjoy the your descriptions while under water
def was! glad you enjoyed it!
found ur channel randomly a little bit ago and i love ur vids...cant wait for next week vid...keep up the good work
welcome to the channel and love to hear it! thanks so much 🙏
You are a straight assassin with that shorty spear gun. Nothing but headshots in most instances.
haha been shooting that gun for 12 years!
This was another very satisfying video. Keep doing what you're doing. I think you've hit the sweet spot of video making.
glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much 🙏
glad i found your channel! keep killing it man, in my opinion diving like you did is the equivalent of snorkeling. no idea how someone can say this is any more unsafe than going and driving your car on a highway
It’s how i feel about it. I have too much to life for I’d never push my limits.
Excellent program i watch it every day, this is my dream can be fishing like you i least one a year, cong for your healthy program.
glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much 🙏
Happy New Year! Love your videos. Can’t wait to get down to the Keys and do some fishing on the flats and around the mangrove islands. Just took delivery of my skiff on Dec. 12th and haven’t even had a chance to get it wet. Keep up the great work.
Happy new year! congrats! hope yall have a good trip!
That was a big snapper, all I could think during your freeze frame narration was "Call me Ishmael" 😂
lol! ill def be back!
Happy New Year's. Always cool when I see you in the videos. In the 321 area. When you spear fished the 520 bridge in the Indian River. I was like 5 mins from you. Lol. Keep up the awesome videos .👊😎🤜. Mad respect for ya.
Happy new year! And too funny haha! Thanks for tuning in! 🙏🏻
Happy New Year looking forward to this years adventures God Bless
happy new year!
Another amazing video freaking love your channel. Can’t wait for the next one. Happy New Year’s.
glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much!
That was wild , seeing that same fish . 18:30 = Fat Albert 😂🤣🇺🇸
Lol right!
Great vid. Amazing that you found the fish you lost on hook and line days before.
Still can’t believe it!
So cool seeing the one that got away!! Lol. Unrelated I made your key lime garlic lobster and put your butter cream sauce on top after broiling, my son loved it fun new years meal.
man I like the sound of that!
It's so cool that you were able to spot that same fish again! And thanks for teaching so much about how to responsibly harvest fish. Your tips for "brain-it, bleed-it, gut-it, and ice-it have been very helpful for me. I fish inshore SC and now that I'm properly handling speckled trout, I find everything to be much easier, cleaner, and of greater quality. 👍 Yes, I spend a bit more time dealing with each fish and it may cost me the opportunity to catch others, but I want to be respectful of the life that I take and it's definitely a quality over quantity thing for me. 😁
really love to hear hear that! makes it all worth while for me! 🙏
Nice video as usual !!
By the way..
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I am looking forward to the deep dropping adventure. 😃
Happy new year!
Aaron my brother from another mother, sweet vid as usual, and please tell Madeleine hi for me, hope 2023 bring you both continued success, love, laughter and good things, as for that snapper he looks battle-hardened might have to spear him, lines might not work this time, and loving the vid as always, stay safe, stay awesome out there 😊👋🙌
thanks so much as always!
