I only watched two fishing shows as a kid. One way Jimmie Houston, because he always kept it fun. The other was Jose Wejebe on Spanish Fly. Both gentlemen were experts, but didn't act like it.

As many mangrove snapper I've eaten and now living in the Midwest I will never get tired of seeing you get mangrove snapper they are one of the best tasting in shore fish in my opinion

I never put my fingers in ocean fish mouths. The first ocean fish I caught was a flounder, have teeth that make pike feel inadequate. My favorite fish I never caught is a rainbow trout on the Henry's Fork River just below Island Park dam, my biggest rainbow I have caught is a 10lb, the one I lost made the ten pounder look like bait. It hit, swam to the surface slapped its tail out of the water, flipped me off, and spit the hook. I think I cried.

When I do our pickled red onions, I use oregano and black peppercorns. I just pour the boiling half vinegar half water over the onions in a wide mouth mason jar. When I cools down closer to room temp, I cap it and put in the fridge. Sometimes I'll add chopped garlic and or sliced fresh jalapeno.. Pickled red onions are the best on so many things.

I love your geenoe , I had one when I was a kid, 40 plus years ago, pretty basic, 7.5 Johnson on the back, trolling motor, battery, and cinder blocks in the front to keep the bow down while under way. A bunch of my fondest memories, and life lessons were learned on that boat..
we had one when we were kids too, absolutely loved that thing!
@Key West Waterman yes! I absolutely lived on mine. I'd run it all the way up the withalacoochee river, and drift down fishing till Hog Island, camp, then repeat. I was doing 2 and 3 day solo trips starting at 9 years old. Great boat...

Winter snapper in the back country is always money. The big ones get smart. Try at night with a heavier setup. Love the video as always
