You should really do some research next time, instead of mossguideing people with the wrong information. The ring of Hircine is a daedric quest, it is not linked to the companions. The full set of the old gods is got from the quest nobody escapes chidna mine; which is a reward for siding with the forsworn not against. Hope people read this so they don't miss out by taking the wrong side.
Yup all you gotta do is walk up to the character in game and take the ring ,it used to be stuck to you in the regular game, but in the dawnguard expansion it is just already uncursed somehow nerfing the need to finish the quest.
So basically just visit a jail with a guy standing in water in a prison after a chat he hands over a ring uncursed somehow and then exits as q werewolf.
Only when you just started the quest, when the quest is finished you will get the Ring of Hircine wich will give you the ability to transform unlimited times.
Uhh... This video had quite a bit false information. First of all, the Hircine's Ring can be be acquired by speaking to a prisoner named Sinding in FALKREATH. You only need the Companions questline (werewolf power) for controlled transformations. Also, you get the Ancient Shrouded Cowl by doing Dark Brotherhood quests. Nothing to do with the Thieves Guild. I hope this helps anyone wondering why they can't find this stuff =/
The ring of hircine has NOTHING to do with archery! Use the ring of extreme archery and the amulet this guy mentions is horrible as well, nothing to do with archery whatsoever. Use a necklace, there are plenty which are better than 5%. This guy hasn't a clue about archery.
He explains that if you're in a situation with too many enemies, and you focus just solely on archery, it's hard to do lots of damage without a melee weapon so turning into a werewolf would be good to escape.
Not really if you focus on mastering archery you can get a 200+ bow, mine was 273 with the paralyze and chaos enchantment you can easily take down several enemies
Doesn't Auriel's Bow also draw faster or something so you can dispatch them off possibly even before they touch you which when paired with stealth could be quite deadly if you wanna use that.
35%? Get your enchanting up and you can make items with 37%. Buy elixir of enchanting from somewhere and you can get that even higher. No need for quest item hunting :)
I did :D Dragonscale. Helmet +59% Archery (and Mana, reg.) Gauntlets 59% Archery and One-handed. Boots 59% One-handed and sneak. Body 45% Hp and Stamina reg. Total armour rating: around 1200. (I don´t even have the matching set perk) Ad a ring and an Amulet (each 59% archery and one-handed) The I see this. Shrouded crowl... Ha, Nooooooooooooooob!
Maximilian L Yeah, in Skyrim i don't keep to one class for the whole game. In the beginning i'm a sword/greatsword barbarian and after i've got some money i travel to the College of Winterhold and buy myself some master robes and alot(ALOT) of spell tomes cus i've got a mod called "Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim" that adds around 180 new spell tomes (etc. (idk :P)) and even later in the game i get over to the assassin part so i'm basicly a Heavy Assassin that uses Magic xDDD
what system do you have because i did that to it's weird but better because you still have 35% on the ancient shrouded cowl and the 20% on the krosis so that is really good
Oh yeah... Well that's kind of embarassing... I try to correct something and I remember incorrectly. :P You're of course right. It was Sinding in Falkreath Prison. "Ill met by Moonlight" if I remember correctly this time. Thanks for pointing it out.
So many angry people. If you want to enchant, enchant. Great have fun. He likes this. If you want to wear fur, leather or glass, wear that. It is your game to play. There is no point yelling at each other about it. I am honestly willing to take a massive hit in performance just to look pretty in some armour. I don't like big and bulky so cloth based stuff is cool to me. So if I run around with 100 rating that's my choice, as should be your choice to run around with 10000 armour rating and 10000% magic resistant, no matter what the caps are. If it makes you feel better do it. It's a video game. HAVE FUN! Jesus.
Guys, I'm sure everybody knows this by now but for those new players that are getting the Remastered edition this guide completely sucks in every way, 1st of even with the annotations a lot of the information he says about the items are wrong like the ring of Hircine being a Companions item, but honestly that's not a big deal the real problem is that most of the items you need to get for this "god" set up are relatively weak and extremely spread out, time consuming and tedious to get so by the time you manage to get them the game is pretty much over and like I said it all generally speaking sucks, Kyne's token is very very weak and is generally considered a trash item by even average players, the Nightingale gear cannot be upgraded properly by smithing making it worst then your average made gear and to even start upgrading it you need void salts and a high smithing skill, sort of same case with the Shrouded gear, only the Cowl is any good, same with the gauntlets, this guide is extremely bad and I'm not saying that to hate on Rex but really nobody should waste their time with this set up, Bow and arrow is not effective in anyway in higher difficulties.
I mean, with the dragonborn expansion, it has the chaos enchantment on a dragonbone bow, fully upgraded, my base attack is about 240 on ps3. and I'm getting max armor value in guildmaster armor, ancient shrouded cowl, hide archery gauntlets, and nightingale boots. I play master and oneshot most things, 2 or 3shotting dragons.
Have you taken into consideration that different bows have a different draw speed. For example, the forsworn bow draws a lot faster than the imperial bow
depends on the weight of the bow, which also affects the range of the bow. I prefer heavy bows like dragon, but zypher is also nice if there are many guys in front of you
If you pursue the best enchanting path you can construct gear that will allow for up to 200% additional bow damage. Potentially more if you wear the Azidal armor set from the Dragonborn DLC. Without using the restoration potion glitch to gain better smithing and with a maxed Archery skill tree you can get a normal bow to do upwards of 450 DMG excluding potential sneak bonuses. Outside of enchanting, this is a great video :)
For the best marksman with no crafting: -Head: easiest to get is the Ancient Shrouded Cowl with resurrecting the assassin with the Ritual Stone power and leaving the dungeon at once. When you get out the revived assassin will come out too. From loot/vendor: any light helm, or circlet "of peerless archery". it has 40% damage. -Ring of Peerless Archery. -Any light gauntlets "of Peerless Archery" -Boots and armor: Any boots with muffle enchant and Ebony Mail(or the muffle spell)(this will make you completely silent) until you get the "Silence" perk. -Neck: Kyne's Token. Although you can change it to some other if necessary. For boots, necklaces and armors I keep different ones in my inventory and use them depending on the encounters.
people keep saying that certain armors are the best in the game, but the truth is that the best armor in the game is the armor you make yourself by far, if you have decent crafting skills. I have a ring, necklace, armbands, and helmet with 40% increased bow damage on each. no uncrafted items in the game can match that for archers. Also the silent movement enchant can go on any boots so heavy armor is a bit over powered. Also you can craft a bow that does 6 times as much damage as any uncrafted bow in the game.
So you do no chanting or I build my sneak at the very beginning up to 100.. I let my character just sneak against a corner near bad guys for about 6 hours or over night while I sleep. No one will see you... I then start my Conjuration leveling.. get a Soul Capture Spell Book... Kill an animal or a human... and just keep casting the spell on the body.. Takes about 45 minutes to get your Conjuration up to 100, and you can make a very powerful Conjured Bow.. and cast up two Dremora Lords that are almost unbeatable.. I can, through enchantment, get my Archery up to over 40%.... Once you get to full 100 on that.. it doesn't take much time.. to do that... Get the Transmute Book found at a fort in the game.. and start collecting silver, gold, and Iron ore.. and transmute it all to gold ore.. Or just build a house and make lots of nails and fittings and your Smithing will level up really quick.. Using this lame armor and cowl.. is weak compared to my stuff.. Oh and get sneak on those boots.. much better than muffle.
Shrouded armour/ ancient shrouded armour is dark brotherhood, guild masters armour is thieves guild and the ring of hircine is an item you get for doing a quest for a werwolf in Falkreath.
I know this video is old but, the ring of hericine is not given to you at the end of the companions quest and the ring can be obtained without even starting that quest series. There is a man in Falkreath prison you can talk to After/Before the companions quest line to and complete his quest to get it even without being a werewolf, but you will have to become werewolf by doing companion quests.
You get the anciet shrouded boots in the dark brotherhood quest line (if you do all the optional quests) and you get the ring of hircine in a daedric quest and you get the thieves guild master armor you need to work for Delvin and Vex ( its not in the main quest line...)
The ring of Hircine doesn't come with the Companions. It comes with some quest in Falkreath or something. It is a Daedric Artifact so you can look up how to get all Daedric Artifacts.
By the way you don't get the Ring of Hircine from the Companions quests, you get the Beast Form power which is 1x/per day. If you go to Falkreath however and go to the prison found in the guard barracks in the town you gain a quest to help a prisoner escape from Hircine which will give you the ring.
If you still don't wanna go the enchantment route, but do want items with +40% Bow damage, you can find hand gear, Necklaces, Rings, and head gear with "...of Peerless Archery" on them in shops and in the world past Level 40. But in any case, Enchanting will always be the way to go. Also, if anyone still plays Skyrim before the 1.8 update (Dragonborn addon), the Falmer Helmets are oddly coded which make them able to be worn at the same time as some other head gear items like Circlets and Dragon Priest masks, so that's another +40% Bow damage piece of armor.
Nice video and all but Rhexx, you must know where you get the items. Shrouded Armor: Dark Brotherhood; Master Thief Armor/ Articulation Necklace: Even after the Thieves Guild questline (lots of missions/ kinda boring); Hircine's Ring: Not after the Companions's questline (although you need Lycanthropy) but in a mission called "Ill Met By Moonlight" started by going to the Barracks of Falkreath and talking to the prisioner in a special cage. Really nice video though, keep the good work!
You get the ancient shrouded cowl from the Dark Brotherhood, the Nightingale armor from the Thieves Guild, and the guild master armor from the Thieves Guild too.
if your talking quest items, this is one of the best armor sets for archery, but the best armor is using alchemy to boost archery enchantments for smithed armor.
The best unique boots is predators grace. Same muffle effect and stamina regenerates 1% faster. Even if you don't use enchanting like I do you should be able to hit the armor cap of 567 if you find the right fortifying alchemy and smithing gear. So these boots are better.
dragon scale armor is also good for you, it is light and it gives you a high rate of armor. you shuld also use dual daggers, with them you can assasinate anyone without making noise (axes, maces and swords make a lot of noise when sneaking)
Here's the correct directions to get the Ancient Shrouded cowl. It is within the dark brotherhood questline. You will get a token to get the armor only IF you have completed all the bonus parts of all the dark brotherhood quests.
just for reference. you can fortify your smithing to enhance the daedric bow beyond that of the nightingale bow. and add similar or different enchantments to make it a more effective weapon. I myself have become accustomed to enchanting my weapons with shock and fire aspects because it pretty much doubles the damage the bow normally does. and when you use fortify restoration it increases it a bit further. hell my bow does atleast 40% shock and fire damage. so that's an extra 80% of damage added to the overall skill set of the weapon. now combine that with something like a war hammer and you have a badass weapon. but the daedra bow balances out once you've worked it right to have more stopping power than most the lesser hammers. only exception I've seen thus far is the ebony hammer and the daedric hammer. the dwarven one is only a bit higher. even with the same enchantments. though honestly i'm still working all the kinks out of my enchantments to make the best armor able. but soo far I mostly just juice up my carrying capacity and the other skills allowable. like magic damage, two handed or one handed, pending on the armor set. and fortification of my magika. still on the look out for better enchantments that help me out, or ways to get my enchantment higher, but I specialize best in combat, stratagies especially. like in ps3, can only have one companion.... well I found a cheat on that with summoned help. sanguine rose staff for example. I can summon a daedric warrior anywhere within line of sight. no limit in range. soo when I know I have a good chance of getting clusterfucked, I summon him in the middle of a hall or something to run destraction of the enemies there in, then my companion runs in, and I follow securing the kill and owning the given room..... hell that's how I get most dungeon's done. other times I summon ranged aid, like atrinochs and what have you. or I raise zombies from the dead around me for more back up..... hell still on the hunt for the group resurrection spell... what I wouldn't give for that in some instances
I found the sneaky archer to be better than the melee thief. With a stealthy melee you have to sneak up to every single monster and if you blow your cover the whole room will come at you and in this case you are dead since a sneaky char is paper....
Well if you don't have powerleveled sneaking from spanking Greybeards all day a little mistake will pull the whole room at you and archers are especially lethal to you since you can't kite a ranged enemy.
+Naru Going around a corner will make the ranged enemy come around the corner to look for you, it's basically the same as breaking line of sight, which starts the whole sneaking process again.
Um Rhexx I don't know if you know this but Daedric Boots can also have muffle as well. There are also enchanted items from vendors that work better that the Gauntlets of the old gods.
or you could just go full enchanter/smith make a set of armor upgrade it as high as you can and then enchant it with grand soul gems pillaged from the hidden chests in skyrim all you need is time and maybe a little bit of gold but once you get both smithing and enchanting to 100 you can make your own stuff to just sell so you wouldnt need to worry about gold either.
I like how you said that you get the ancient shrouded cowl from the thieves guild, i've completed that quest line, you get it from the dark brotherhood quest line......
The Nightingale boots look cooler and have the same effect, plus you can get them pretty early in the game. I have found an Ebony helmet with the +35% bow damage enchantment, meaning I can disenchant this and use it on several other items (head gear, gloves, chain, ring) to produce a much higher damage output in the end. Also even if the damage is not as high as that of the Nightingale bow paired with its added shock and frost damage, in the long run a smithed up Zephyr bow will outdamage it because of the 30% faster fire rate. Going against multiple enemies you will have to take more shots and therefor being able to basically shoot 4 arrows in the time a normal bow shoots 3 is an essential asset.
When going for Archery you should attack in a manner that your enemies are dead before you need an armor boost. Either hit and hide or use the slow time shout to give you the edge and kill everyone before they can get near you.
If you're going as an archer, melee is useless. And you dont need a helmet with a 35% bow damage enchantment, anything with a bow enchantment is usefull. Just disenchant it. The strength of the enchantment you put on your gear depends on your skill with enchanting, not the original enchantment you took. If you have shit enchanting skill, it doesnt matter how high the original enchant is, that 35% is becoming 8%. So realistically, you should keep that ebony heln, and disenchant an item with a lower attribute.
He forgot about the dragon mask that can be worn with the ancient shrouded cowl. You can also get much better armor if you make and enchant your own. doing this can easily make your bows do 100% more damage and you can double enchant to add carry weight etc.
The bound bow is the best, you increase the damage in the conjuration skill tree so every bound weapon deals more damage and you are done. Nothing can match that.
Well, I'm assuming this gear is for people who do not train enchantment and smithing (mods not included). Because maximizing enchantment plus the potions makes those enchantments a lot more powerful than what we can find.
if you're considering archery they you should definitely invest in the zoom-in perk, however, it will use up your stamina. there is another one that slows time while your aiming btw. invest it up to reduce time in half and you will spend less stamina in aiming and therefore will be much more effective at longer ranges by calculating the speed and the path of the arrow ;) what that means is that it only gets better.
I agree with you. Its so much more fun going the DIY route. Alchemy and Smithing are my favorite things to do outside of slicing ppl up with my Dragonbone greatsword lol.
the ring of Hircine is easier to get very early on. its sort of a glitch. what you do is do the Hircine quest in Falkreath. Go to the bloated man cave tell Herccine you will do what he wants, then go inside tell Sinding you will help him. Do so. If he is hurt DO NOT heal him. He will think it hostile magic and turn on you, simply help Sinding take out the competition, then kill him after he talks to you, just like Herccine wants you to, but DO NOT skin him don't even touch him after you kill him. Go outside the cave. Be polite even if you're deliberately playing a nasty SOB, sometimes diplomacy is good. simply tell the deadra lord you're sorry you failed him, Hircine is amused you turned the bloodmoon hunt on itself. He gives you his ring uncursed. ( of course if you're already a werewolf by doing a portion of the Companions quest all the better, I tend to wait until after Gallows rock then go get the ring and leave the rest of the companions quests for later) anyway after you met with Hircine as a hart / stag go back inside the cave, find where you left the body of Sinding, NOW skin him, Hircine will appear to you a 2nd time this time as Siding and gives you the Savior's Hide fairly good armor very early on though you eventually find better gear later still it's 2 daedric items for the price of one. Its descent enough before your smithing and enchanting skills level up and you can create better. I tend to get it before I delve deep into any quest-line. ( ha I get it sometimes before I become a companion and is like bite my tail Vilkas, I'm the Champion of Hircine, or you too stupid to see the armor I'm wearing you ice-brain) meh that's just head-cannon Oh, also if you go to the Bloated Man's cave before Hircine's questline you get a decent beginning enchanted sword that once belonged to a fallen Blade. But I'm positive everyone knows this anyway. it's at the base of the statue that is intact though destroyed during the quest. the nice though completely un-challenging factor of Skyrim that the other games had was the need of enchanted or silver weapons even if it was just a lil' ol' dagger to keep the wraths, ghosts ect at bay. ah well at least there are dragons.
Nightingale gear is leveled so anyone should get them after they reach level 30. And the muffle enchantment is affected by the size of the soul gem that is used to enchant so you should use grand soul gems for muffle.
Unless you are an enchanter and have the muffle effect disenchanted, always use Predator's Grace for muffle. These boots are the only garunteed Muffle %100 item, as all other unique/artifact boots provide only %50 muffle.
I normally wear deathbrand armor or ebony mail with nightingale boots and gloves, and the hood if I'm using illusion magic. Normally I enchant a ring, circlet and necklace with fortify archery and it gives an extreme boost to how much damage you can do.
Sorry you got some info mixed up, the ancient shrouded armor is from the dark brotherhood quest and the ring is a deadric quest done for a prisoner in one of the holds. It has nothing to do with the companions.
what you need to do is: get the circlet of peerless archery, and the ancient shrouded cowl (u can equip at same time) stack peerless archery gear (ring, necklace, gloves) get a set of peerless alchemy gear, make fortify archery potions. (optional) get peerless smithing gear, and a smithing potion and improve a daedric or dragon bow (if u have DLC, use dragon) i think thats it, or is your a boss u can echant your own alchemy smithing and archery gear to make it better. i can get a 51% bow increase
I'm not sure if they patched this but you used to be able to wear Krosis and the Ancient Shrouded Cowl at the same time. Extra 20% bow damage + added armor and effects.
Actually all bows are equal. It depends on what kind of archer you are. Lower damage bows like the long bow or the hunting bow can be readied very fast, unleashing a blast of arrows on an opponent. The higher damage bows, e.g. daedric need a looooot of time to reach full power. So if you play in stealth and you favor 1-hit kills while taking your time to aim, use this. In case you do not believe me, try it. Take a long and a daedric bow and shoot some arrows. Hope I helped.
Thanks it helps but like a lot of the other comments are stating some quest you got mixed up but also you could also state that a level 100 in enchanting can help you put 2 enchantments on 1 item giving you way more bonuses and options on what type of archer to play its just a thought
The other option level enchanting and enchant any armour you like. The you can have an extra 40% archery to hand head ring and necklace giving you an extra 160%
Use enchantment to enchant ring, amulet, glove and chest with +24% improved workbench and grindstone, improve a dragon bow, enchant amulet, ring, gloves and helm with a 40% increased bow damage and u have a bow with 330 damage.
To get the ancient shrouded armour you must complete one of the dark brotherhood quests (the one that gives you the token) hand in the token to get access to a crypt which holds the armour.
If you have the dragonborn dlc summon a dremora merchant and there is a chance he will sell you a 40% better archery deadric helm and a 40% better archery deadric gauntlets but don't really on it
but doesn't the ring of hircine make you transform randomly sometimes ? when i was in the middle of the quest i just suddenly transformed into a werewolf without using the ability shortly after getting the ring from the captured "werewolf".
One note, the Nightingale Bow and Armor armor rating/damage and enchantment strength is dependent on your level in the game. Despite that usually whatever level you receive them at they are usually the most powerful thing in your arsenal at the time. Great video though, thanks for the info!
Actually as a ranger you should avoid any kind of muffle boots because they are not as effective as regular sneak boots that have like 30% sneak boost or whatever. Muffle boots are better for dagger wielding assassins.
Ive looked up that Nightingale armor you showed in this video and cant find a Nightingale like plated armor with the silver and red costume like you've shown, The nightingale armor is the basic armor of the Nightingales where its just like dark cool shrouded leather armor. The actual plate armor, where do you get that?
You should really do some research next time, instead of mossguideing people with the wrong information. The ring of Hircine is a daedric quest, it is not linked to the companions. The full set of the old gods is got from the quest nobody escapes chidna mine; which is a reward for siding with the forsworn not against. Hope people read this so they don't miss out by taking the wrong side.
You get the armour of old gods from cidna mine cos ive done that quest
Tell him again eso by the way love your vids
TheBeastX13 Is that not a quest in Markarth against the Forsworn?
Thats i like you man…
You and smike are the best skyrim expert
I subbed to him ESO is one of the best skyrim experts I ever seen
uhh... Thieves Guild? ... The shrouded armor is from the Dark Brotherhood.
If you have annotations off, he corrects himself.
Mistake! Ring of Hircine is not associated in any way with the Companions. It's a daedric quest which starts in Falkreath prison.
Yup all you gotta do is walk up to the character in game and take the ring ,it used to be stuck to you in the regular game, but in the dawnguard expansion it is just already uncursed somehow nerfing the need to finish the quest.

yeah the ring of hircine is in the falkreath jail take the cursed one from sinding the werewolf then do the quest
+Kayden Saylor and don't kill hircine
You should finish the quest though. If you don't you will turn into a werewolf at random times.
Or enchant your own...
The ancient shrouded armor is from dark brotherhood
No shit, Sherlock.
+Joona Jalopaasi Rhexx said thieves guild at 0:35
no shit
For Ring of Hircine: Companions questline? WTF! You have to go to Falkreath and talk with Sinding, then complete the quest.
Well, anyway it makes a little sense that you get the ring in the companions questline, you know.... since their werewolves.
It does, but even so,you wont get the Ring of Hircine by making sense, pal :l
ɮɛʄǟʟʟ ȶɦɛ քօաɛʀ ʄɨɢɦȶɛʀ True, since when did Skyrim make sense xD
Companion questline will just give you free control to being a Werewolf, Sinding will give you the Ring of Hircine. Which turns you uncontrollably.
I hope this helps anyone wondering why they can't find this stuff =/
Andrew Turturro Oh, yea. I have them disabled =/
Did you smoke skooma before you made this?
You drink skooma not smoke it
Lord Liptxn you missed the joke... this guy got almost all the info wrong in this video... this was a play on joke to the video
Stabmastersam yeah but skooma is not a drug, it’s illegal alcohol
Wooden Stall nigga he just explained the joke the guy that made the video was saying a few things Wrong the joke went right over your head
He snorted moon sugar
The ring of hircine has NOTHING to do with archery! Use the ring of extreme archery and the amulet this guy mentions is horrible as well, nothing to do with archery whatsoever. Use a necklace, there are plenty which are better than 5%. This guy hasn't a clue about archery.

ilovemeganjohnston You could just enchant a Neclace with fortify archery but he is talking about obtaining stuff
He didn't say it did.
Doesn't Auriel's Bow also draw faster or something so you can dispatch them off possibly even before they touch you which when paired with stealth could be quite deadly if you wanna use that.
or you can just enchant the shit out of armor and weapons....
35%? Get your enchanting up and you can make items with 37%. Buy elixir of enchanting from somewhere and you can get that even higher.
No need for quest item hunting :)
Micheal Carr Wasn't at level 100 at the time.
My dragonscale helmet is 45%
i encanted a ring with 27% and a necles with 31% archery i was a wood elf so my shots were daedly
lol helm 40% gloves 40% neck 40% ring 40% love that enchanting. not op at all :P
Klaus Fin Hahdrim Kroniid Yeah, skyrims so easy even without the enchant so theirs not too much point lol
ancient shrouded armor is from the dark brotherhood and the ring is from Hircine quest line wich starts in falkrteath's prison
I'm looking at these comments and thinking to myself... Do these people actually PLAY Skyrim?
Even 2018! I just got All three Dlc's
Well, this is one way, or you could just level enchanting and enchant your own gear after taste...
I did :D
Dragonscale. Helmet +59% Archery (and Mana, reg.) Gauntlets 59% Archery and One-handed. Boots 59% One-handed and sneak. Body 45% Hp and Stamina reg. Total armour rating: around 1200. (I don´t even have the matching set perk) Ad a ring and an Amulet (each 59% archery and one-handed)
The I see this.
Sir Castic around 1200? Why are you cheating.
Also, Ancient Shrouded Cowl has clipping error, making it invisible so you can also equip Krosis over it.
what system do you have because i did that to it's weird but better because you still have 35% on the ancient shrouded cowl and the 20% on the krosis so that is really good
fumb ducker
I did it on a ps3, don't know if it works on other consoles as well.
I have it on ps3 also and it's a really useful error or whatever it is
Random enchanted items from merchants or chests are better than some of the items you showed.
Thanks Rhexx , I Did this and I do 157 damage with a weak bow.
The Ring of Hircine is from the Hircine questline started by the talking dog Barbas just outside Falkreath.
Oh yeah... Well that's kind of embarassing... I try to correct something and I remember incorrectly. :P You're of course right. It was Sinding in Falkreath Prison. "Ill met by Moonlight" if I remember correctly this time. Thanks for pointing it out.
wtf this outfit makes me look like a dumbass
OR you could get enchanting to 100, and be able to put much higher than 35% archery and 50 stamina on any gear you want.
But 100 enchanting makes you super OP and I realised that that it almost ruins the game.
Ring of Hircine is obtained by completing the quest called "Ill met by moonlight" which you get in Falkreath.
So many angry people. If you want to enchant, enchant. Great have fun. He likes this. If you want to wear fur, leather or glass, wear that. It is your game to play. There is no point yelling at each other about it. I am honestly willing to take a massive hit in performance just to look pretty in some armour. If it makes you feel better do it. It's a video game. HAVE FUN! Jesus.
Let him be an IDEOT saying that shrouded armour and the ring of Heircine is from the companions. Dumbass.
The fuck?? do you even play this game??
For real lmao

if you have dragonborn dlc starhlim armor is the way to go. if you where the full set u already reach the armor cap without using a workbench.
Chad Matti not with light armour unless you use enchantments are potions. Dragon scale is the strongest light armour
stalhrim already has enchantments on it that make u a god. and it doesent matter your light armor skill it always reached the armor cap.
Guys, I'm sure everybody knows this by now but for those new players that are getting the Remastered edition this guide completely sucks in every way, 1st of even with the annotations a lot of the information he says about the items are wrong like the ring of Hircine being a Companions item, but honestly that's not a big deal the real problem is that most of the items you need to get for this "god" set up are relatively weak and extremely spread out, time consuming and tedious to get so by the time you manage to get them the game is pretty much over and like I said it all generally speaking sucks, Kyne's token is very very weak and is generally considered a trash item by even average players, the Nightingale gear cannot be upgraded properly by smithing making it worst then your average made gear and to even start upgrading it you need void salts and a high smithing skill, sort of same case with the Shrouded gear, only the Cowl is any good, same with the gauntlets, this guide is extremely bad and I'm not saying that to hate on Rex but really nobody should waste their time with this set up, Bow and arrow is not effective in anyway in higher difficulties.
this was 4 years ago chill out ... gosh
NightcoreLovers :3 Yea but I PROMISE you noobs to the elder scrolls series will see this and think its useful.
yea you're right but still xd
I mean, with the dragonborn expansion, it has the chaos enchantment on a dragonbone bow, fully upgraded, my base attack is about 240 on ps3. and I'm getting max armor value in guildmaster armor, ancient shrouded cowl, hide archery gauntlets, and nightingale boots. I play master and oneshot most things, 2 or 3shotting dragons.
And with proper enchanting you could get 5x higher bow bmg too
Have you taken into consideration that different bows have a different draw speed. For example, the forsworn bow draws a lot faster than the imperial bow
depends on the weight of the bow, which also affects the range of the bow. I prefer heavy bows like dragon, but zypher is also nice if there are many guys in front of you
and for the gauntlets of the old gods help madanach in the mines in markarth do the forsworn conspiracy to get the gauntlets
For the best marksman with no crafting:
-Head: easiest to get is the Ancient Shrouded Cowl with resurrecting the assassin with the Ritual Stone power and leaving the dungeon at once. When you get out the revived assassin will come out too. From loot/vendor: any light helm, or circlet "of peerless archery". it has 40% damage.
-Ring of Peerless Archery.
-Any light gauntlets "of Peerless Archery"
-Boots and armor: Any boots with muffle enchant and Ebony Mail(or the muffle spell)(this will make you completely silent) until you get the "Silence" perk.
-Neck: Kyne's Token. Although you can change it to some other if necessary.
For boots, necklaces and armors I keep different ones in my inventory and use them depending on the encounters.
2:33 Hey, you! Get over here, I want to talk to you. (Still laughing :D)
people keep saying that certain armors are the best in the game, but the truth is that the best armor in the game is the armor you make yourself by far, if you have decent crafting skills.
Maul: *Sees werewolf ravaging through the town*
Also Maul: "Hey you! I wanna talk to you!"
So you do no chanting or
I build my sneak at the very beginning up to 100..

Shrouded Armor: Dark Brotherhood;
Master Thief Armor/ Articulation Necklace: Even after the Thieves Guild questline (lots of missions/ kinda boring);
Hircine's Ring: Not after the Companions's questline (although you need Lycanthropy) but in a mission called "Ill Met By Moonlight" started by going to the Barracks of Falkreath and talking to the prisioner in a special cage.
Really nice video though, keep the good work!
If you where paying attention and had annotations on, Rhexx corrected him self.
So these boots are better.
tip: you can wear the ancient shrouded cowl and the normal shrouded cowl at the same time for an insane boost
the ring of hircine is got by the quest "ill met by moonlight" and you will get that when finding sinding at the prison in falkreath
dragon scale armor is also good for you, it is light and it gives you a high rate of armor. you shuld also use dual daggers, with them you can assasinate anyone without making noise (axes, maces and swords make a lot of noise when sneaking)
That cowl combined with Glass Gauntlets of Eminent Archery make my daedric bow do 160 damage. Really good stuff.
Here's the correct directions to get the Ancient Shrouded cowl. It is within the dark brotherhood questline. You will get a token to get the armor only IF you have completed all the bonus parts of all the dark brotherhood quests.
Don't know if this is a glitch or not but you can wear krosis at the same time as the ancient cowl to get even more of a damage increase
Yup that is a glitch
No it's not, you can wear cowls and masks at the same time. Pretty fucking obvious right?
Or not because you (or I and some other people) only can wear one clothing for the head (masks OR cowls/other stuff).
just for reference. you can fortify your smithing to enhance the daedric bow beyond that of the nightingale bow.
and add similar or different enchantments to make it a more effective weapon.
With a stealthy melee you have to sneak up to every single monster and if you blow your cover the whole room will come at you and in this case you are dead since a sneaky char is paper....
because you suck at melee sneaking
Well if you don't have powerleveled sneaking from spanking Greybeards all day a little mistake will pull the whole room at you and archers are especially lethal to you since you can't kite a ranged enemy.
+Naru Going around a corner will make the ranged enemy come around the corner to look for you, it's basically the same as breaking line of sight, which starts the whole sneaking process again.
Um Rhexx I don't know if you know this but Daedric Boots can also have muffle as well. There are also enchanted items from vendors that work better that the Gauntlets of the old gods.
The ancient shrowded cowl is from "the feeble fortune" which is a bonus quest in the dark brotherhood quest line, NOT the theives guild!
You can't get the Ancient Shrouded armor from the thieves guild, only from the Dark BrotherHood quest line at the end
or you could just go full enchanter/smith make a set of armor upgrade it as high as you can and then enchant it with grand soul gems pillaged from the hidden chests in skyrim all you need is time and maybe a little bit of gold but once you get both smithing and enchanting to 100 you can make your own stuff to just sell so you wouldnt need to worry about gold either.
I like how you said that you get the ancient shrouded cowl from the thieves guild, i've completed that quest line, you get it from the dark brotherhood quest line......
I have found some circlet that can help you with marksmanship by 40%, it's 5% higher than your ancient shrouded cowl
Going against multiple enemies you will have to take more shots and therefor being able to basically shoot 4 arrows in the time a normal bow shoots 3 is an essential asset.
but you dont have a matching set which could boost armor by 50% in total
When going for Archery you should attack in a manner that your enemies are dead before you need an armor boost. Either hit and hide or use the slow time shout to give you the edge and kill everyone before they can get near you.
Rob Ztar yeah i know but get extra anyway so you can attack with swords if needed always comes in handy
Tiago Marland melee useless LMAO you do not play this game and what you tell is incorrect go and see for yourself you made A big mistake all this time
He forgot about the dragon mask that can be worn with the ancient shrouded cowl.
Because maximizing enchantment plus the potions makes those enchantments a lot more powerful than what we can find.
if you're considering archery they you should definitely invest in the zoom-in perk, however, it will use up your stamina.
there is another one that slows time while your aiming btw.
invest it up to reduce time in half and you will spend less stamina in aiming and therefore will be much more effective at longer ranges by calculating the speed and the path of the arrow ;)
what that means is that it only gets better.
how does your nightingale armor look like that? I just got mine in the game and it's all black. pls help
its some retexture mod
I agree with you. Its so much more fun going the DIY route. Alchemy and Smithing are my favorite things to do outside of slicing ppl up with my Dragonbone greatsword lol.
Nighingale bow+Kyne's Token+Ancient Shrouded Cowl+Gauntlets of the Old Gods=PURE EPICNESS.
the ring of Hircine is easier to get very early on. its sort of a glitch.
what you do is do the Hircine quest in Falkreath. ( of course if you're already a werewolf by doing a portion of the Companions quest all the better, I tend to wait until after Gallows rock then go get the ring and leave the rest of the companions quests for later)
anyway after you met with Hircine as a hart / stag go back inside the cave, find where you left the body of Sinding, NOW skin him, Hircine will appear to you a 2nd time this time as Siding and gives you the Savior's Hide fairly good armor very early on though you eventually find better gear later still it's 2 daedric items for the price of one.
Its descent enough before your smithing and enchanting skills level up and you can create better. I tend to get it before I delve deep into any quest-line. ( ha I get it sometimes before I become a companion and is like bite my tail Vilkas, I'm the Champion of Hircine, or you too stupid to see the armor I'm wearing you ice-brain) meh that's just head-cannon
Oh, also if you go to the Bloated Man's cave before Hircine's questline you get a decent beginning enchanted sword that once belonged to a fallen Blade.
It has nothing to do with the companions.
what you need to do is: get the circlet of peerless archery, and the ancient shrouded cowl (u can equip at same time)
stack peerless archery gear (ring,necklace,gloves)
get a set of peerless alchemy gear, make fortify archery potions. (optional)
get peerless smithing gear, and a smithing potion and improve a daedric or dragon bow (if u have DLC, use dragon)
i think thats it, or is your a boss u can echant your own alchemy smithing and archery gear to make it better. i can get a 51% bow increase
For the necklace, I use amulet of Talos so i can use the slow time shout more often
just to state u can also you take the enchantment from the gauntlet and make or find or buy a different gauntlet and enchant it
If you paid attention you would have heard him say "...if you want to go the enchantment route I recommend Dragon Scale armor".
enchanting your own stuff is just so much more powerful
You've got to do the guild master quest to become a guild master after you have joined the theives guild (takes an extra 2 hours)
Boots could be anything imho, if you're an assassin you should have muffled movement from the sneak skill line anyways.
Rhexx, you realize that you can disenchant most of these items to get stronger versions of those enchantments.
what's the best level to get nightingales armour and bow ?
You don't get ancient shrouded armour from thieves guild quest line you do it with dark brotherhood
The bound bow can do even more damage than the other two bows.
To get the ancient shrouded armour you must complete one of the dark brotherhood quests (the one that gives you the token) hand in the token to get access to a crypt which holds the armour.
The ring of hircine can be found in a daedric quest started in Falkreath jail, "The Hunt"
where did u get this nightingale armor... is it modded cause the one i have is black
Yes it is because i have the mod if u want it just type on google Colored Nightingale Armor something like that
If you have the dragonborn dlc summon a dremora merchant and there is a chance he will sell you a 40% better archery deadric helm and a 40% better archery deadric gauntlets but don't really on it
I love how his thumbnails are NEVER what's in the video.
you dont need to complete the companions quest line. you just need to become a werewolf.
but doesn't the ring of hircine make you transform randomly sometimes ?
when i was in the middle of the quest i just suddenly transformed into a werewolf without using the ability shortly after getting the ring from the captured "werewolf".
One note, the Nightingale Bow and Armor armor rating/damage and enchantment strength is dependent on your level in the game. Despite that usually whatever level you receive them at they are usually the most powerful thing in your arsenal at the time. Great video though, thanks for the info!
The best thing for marksman is to max up the enchanting skill tree and make you own items giving bow damage.
Enchantments on gear change the damage as well, and the bow gets stronger the higher your level when obtaining it is.
Actually as a ranger you should avoid any kind of muffle boots because they are not as effective as regular sneak boots that have like 30% sneak boost or whatever. Muffle boots are better for dagger wielding assassins.
just to make it known the ring of hircine is not a companion guild reward its a standalone qwest in falkrith jail
+Tyler Nadeau qwest... qwest REALLY learn how to spell its quest
He made a mistake, but he did an annotation on the screen on the corner, you probably didn't see it.
