Youre slowly converting me to patrols. I prefer utes but the older I get, the less I use the ute fully. A wagon would do me easily and you're patrol is looking like a beast!
Rig is coming together nicely. Looking forward to my 2 inch lift in July. I was thinking of running two sets of wheels as well. Current AT 33's for day to day and 35's for play time. Another keen Y62 enthusiast I was speaking with was less than complimentary about running 37's after trying them out. Lots of extra work to make them not break important undercarriage bits and pieces.
Yeah definitely a risk on the cvs mate but some smart wheeling should make it a it bit safer. Making them fit shouldn’t be to much of an issue +10 offset should give me clearance for them.
I think the wheel size looks good. Better fuel economy and less stress on components. But for what you personally use the car for, it's all your choice. Thanks for the video mate. 👍🏻
So the stock front coil springs seem to handle the weight of your bar, winch and snorkel ok? I always assumed they'd sag after the LCA lift. I was leaning towards spring lift for that reason, but as you say, VERY hard to justify paying the price. We pick up a Y62 TODAY! Very exciting.
Hard to pull the trigger on a spring lift I don’t see the benefits honestly but yeah bar winch and snorkel sagged the front a touch but nothing crazy mate.
Love the info....so i was going to run the factory rim on mine with the 2 inch lift like yours...what tyres are you running on that in the video? Im hearing alot of tyre brands wont balance up after a while...
Hey mate the maxxis razors they are pretty soft and wear down pretty quickly I was 50/50 on them they seemed to balance fine you just need to keep up with alignments etc
Hello, I need to replace the ball joints on my Patrol Y62 2013 model. Any recommendation for a reliable brands? I've been having trouble finding a good one, except for Roadsafe, which unfortunately only offers front ball joints. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Hi mate just been following you for a bit and just wondering who did your lift here in WA also how much was it and also who did the bull bar and how much was that ? Cheers Dave 🍻
Hey mate lift was done here in Bunbury by Reece at southern Mechanical and Offroad Bullbar was done by another shop but wouldn’t recommend them If you are in Perth go to Hunter mechanical the bull bar colour coded was about 4k back in 2020
Honestly anyone with a set of wrenches and a spare weekend could install a "lift" on one of these. All you are really doing is swapping struts and springs.
Sorry mate depending on what lift you are talking about if you want to replace the spring in the strut you are going to be in for a world of hurt with the HMBC system if you go the lower arm lift like I did most people with some skills can do it at home.

Haha that’s awesome man! I got a shit back so the wagon is a dream to tour in I can’t recommend one enough
Having driven Reece's own Y62, thatd be a good guide for the tyres. He works hard (has done my 4wds for years) and obviously enjoys playing hard!
He’s a Great mechanic 👨🔧 wouldn’t take my car anywhere else

More some play tyres for the weekend mate!
@@4x4CampingandAdventures Yeah, I think Graham Cahill got 37's permanently. So won't hurt for a play set hey.
Nah he’s running 35s I spoke to him the other day about it
It's great you've maintained the stock ride quality, it would be a shame to ruin it just for a lift.
100% mate it’s the one thing I didn’t want to spoil and it still drives like a dream

hi mate. just curious after install the dash bar , will it effect your adaptive cruise and fish eye camera?
No adaptive works fine mate I don’t have a dash bar it’s a rhino 4x4 bar and it does not effect the camera they adjust it when installing the bar
Looking really good and as you stated, more clearance for off-road. Stop giving me more ideas. 😁
Haha sorry mate should see the next one coming up 😬😬😬
Hey mate, who did the install for your lift? Looking at doing mine soon.
Reece Southwest mechanical and offroad 08-97214080

Thanks for the info 👍🍻
Hey mate what mount for the antenna did you use?
Gme fold mount mate
You can only lift the roof of your car legally in WA 50mm without engineering
I wonder how many break that rule?
Insurance claim could be knocked back
Lots take the risk mate
