I wish everyone who wants this device to get it ...
Thank you very much for your review !
I've been using the tablet for over a month and I've actually become quite impressed by it.
What’s your favourite things about it? ☺️☺️
@@joeldesigns I like the surface, along with the felt nib. It has a great feel, just enough resistance, not like you're drawing on glass. Also, the speed, it's nice and snappy, been using Infinite Painter and Artrage Vitae thus far and haven't had any stuttering or crashes or anything.
Did you have to have a android for it to work bcuz I’m getting this for my bday
@ZGallery-official what do you mean?
@@ZGallery-official It's got Android on the tablet and it's standalone so you don't need Windows or another operating system to run it.
You saved me with the tipp about the Offset option! I needed to set it a few points to the left actually. Amazing...
Glad it helped 😀
Ive actually been using this tablet for the past few months for pretty much everything. And ive gotta say I'm thoroughly impressed for a lower cost tablet compared to other higher priced tabs.
Great review, thank you. Just ordered one
Thanks, Joel, very good video and very well explained. I'd love to see a comparison of the Samsung S8 Ultra and this.
Hopefully Samsung could send me one 😀😀
I really want to give this tablet a chance for all the good points you talked about, but it's running an Android OS that's two versions behind. XP-Pen says that this tablet is incapable of ever getting OS upgrades and I fear this will affect long-term compatability with any or all art apps down the line.
Great review!
Wait, so I can't update it if ever? that's disappointing...
Yeah it’s not great that it won’t update 😕🙁
Aw wait really? :( I was really hoping to get this tablet but that's so unfortunate, I wish they do something about this
@@raineclipse1542 yeah just get a samsung or an ipad
OH! Y'know, I've watched a couple of reviews about this tablet and I believe you are the first person to mention that the XP Magic Drawing Pen has a PC mode, similar to how Samsung tablets have Samsung Dex. Thank you for mentioning this otherwise I would've have known. Now I'm curious to know more about how the PC mode on this tablet performs and whether or not this means that you can use this tablet with an external monitor. If you have experimented more with those features, do you mind talking more in depth about it for those curious?
Hey, so i dont beleive external monitor support is a feature. The PC mode isnt so much a different set of features, but simply changing the interface to be more PC like with floating windows
Thanks for the review!
My pleasure! 😀😀
I have an XP-Pen display tablet already and really love it. It's nice that I could use the pen that came with my display tablet with the magic tablet. My ipad, which I did a lot of drawing on, finally died and I need to replace it. Although I really like Procreate which is an ipad exclusive, I also use Clip studio paint and Ibis. The magic tablet is half the price of a new ipad. So I'm leaning more towards it than replacing my ipad. Nice review. I was concerned about the cursor offset, but the adjustment you talked about should fix that. Ibis paint also includes that same option.
Its a great tablet and i've enjoyed using it a lot. I guess it comes down to Procreate and wether you can carry on without it :)
Thank you so much for the best info😊
My pleasure 😊
@@joeldesigns more drawing featuring xp pen heheehehheh
awesome review!!! I'm thinking of saving up for this tablet but my biggest concern is how well it runs Clip Studio Paint, i see a lot of good speed paints on youtube but I haven't really found someone who worked on a heavily rendered painting while commenting on how the tablet managed to run while using the programme.
part of my worry also stems from using clip studio on a new gen iPad and still ...the app version versus the desktop version still felt really staticky and clunky. Do you have any experience or further notes on this? thnx !
Which tablet would you recommend? I am trying to choose between this one and the Samsung galaxy tab s9 fe.... I tried the Samsung in store but it got pretty warm and I am scared it will mess up the tablet in the long run... Does the xp pen get hot?
Because the xp pen doesn't update beyond android 12 I am scared that I to need replace my tablet after a year or so. It needs to at least last me like 5 years. What is your opinion?
Thank you for you input!
Ive not used the Samsung tablets yet so I can’t speak on them.
I’m not sure these days how much the OS version makes a difference to compatibility, so I think that would so be fine a few years from now
The magic drawing pad didn’t get hot either
Thank you very much for your response
@@bohnapart1849 hi! Did you end up getting one of the tablet? I'm in the exact same dilemma rn...
@@IamNeminh I ended up getting the Samsung Galaxy S9 (not the FE). It is the more expensive one. But it had a few promotions like trade in and cashback it ended up almost as cheap as the XP Pen. Plus I already have a Samsung phone so I thought why not keep it in the family😅. The battery in the tablet doesn't get hot and that makes me extremely happy. But I only use mine mostly for drawing so I am not really pushing it to the edge I guess.
I think it comes down to budget, are there any good deals, and preference. I also looked at the costumer service but they are all bad lol. So for me it was also a preference if I could buy it at a physical store. So if something happens to it I can go in myself and don't have to ship (and pay for shipping!) it.
I don't know if this helps you in any way. But this was kinda my chaotic way of thinking.
@@bohnapart1849 ohhhh yes I see! Thank you so much for your input, I'll look out for deals and promotions
This review was excellent and covered some things other reviews didn't. But I still have a few questions. Is the screen protector replaceable when the installed one wears out? And is the tablet upgradeable to newer android versions? Thank you!
Hey 👋 I believe u covered both questions in the video. 1. It can not be removed which means it can not be replaced. 2. It won’t be updated
@@joeldesigns That's what I thought I heard in your video but thanks for confirming. Those are deal breakers for me because they shorten the life of the tablet. I found your channel though and am going o try infinite painter. Thanks again!
Can I connect this to my pc and white board during zoom meetings?
I wanted to buy a pen display but I dont like that. I have to plug it into a computer, especially since I only have a laptop. So this seems to fit everything I need.
it looked like there was some lag from the pen to your brushstroke, is that typical?
It’s emphasised when zoomed in and on video. In normal use there is a very small amount. I’m someone who uses an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, which has great response times, and the XP pen was satisfactory for me 😀
Hi Joel, thanks for this video, I've been super interested in this as an upgrade from my Samsung note 10.
Can you possibly tell me if it is capable of streaming via twitch while using it for drawing?
I know you mention it struggles with multiple apps being open, but hoping 2 apps isn't too taxing.
Hey 👋 if you mean have twitch open viewing a stream, then he’s this is possible. More so in a side by side view. I’m not sure about a pop out overlay player 😀
@@joeldesigns I am able to do it on my Samsung, I imagine it's capable, but we both know how unstable IP can get 🤣
Does this tablet lag when doing art? I find it , most tablet lag when I do artwork and just can't be sustainable long term. Bc tablet arent equipt to handle heavy art programs such as photoshop. I know you mention xpen can use clip studio/ ibis but can it handle heavy duty work that uses many layers? and does it overheat? Or is this tablet just bare minimum and can only do simple art.
It’s not lagged for me when off WiFi
Have you used it fir editing video using android app. I am using youcut android apo
I have not, I do my editing on my Mac
Hi, would you recommend this for fashion design and is it compatible with adobe illustrator, indesign and can you connect it to your laptop if needed?
This is solely an Android tablet, so you’ll need some of their other products that connect to a computer.
No I'll recommend you get xp pen artist pro series screen tablets if you want it for fashion design 15.6 is a great option!
I'm just asking, i dont know if I wasn't really paying attention on the video or not, but can you download games or apps on the tablet? I've been trying to research before i buy it
Absolutely you can. It's normal Android :)
where did you get the case? I can't find it online...
It comes with it 😀
How do you change out of pc mode?
Tap the icon bottom right, which opens a panel. Then the settings tap top right. Tap on PC mode and it will ask if you want to quit PC mode
Will this thing work with flash drives?
I’m not sure, you can message the company to make sure 👌
