This lady is a trip. Love her energy. She kept me on my toes wanting to know more. As she was describing these tips I started realizing I do a lot of these bad habits. So I am going to learn more from her videos and definitely practice because I breathe at least 3/7 Donts and I didnt even know I was doing it. Thanks for the awareness. On to the next videos!
Dear Victoria, You are not only a great teacher but also a very honest individual spirit. I am not only your student but also your disciple. May God bless us!
I love the way you explain things. I found your videos last night and I will be using a lot of your exercises consistently and sharing them with anyone who ever asks what I do to practice singing today. ❤
I love your ballet dancer impression - made me laugh out loud! I will def do that fresh air breath every day. I think I over worry and tank up. I shall stop that! thank you Victoria.
Extremely useful the hand movement and imagining the air dropping down into the body. It couldn't be explained better. I'm doing so much better since I started watching your videos, especially my biggest enigma, breathing correctly and supporting. THANK YOU, dear Victoria! Much love from Romania! ❤
Refreshing video and breath exercises! We're continuing the journey. I've received great feedback from friends and other engineers on the vocals in my singing over the past few months."
Victoria, I too have been teaching voice for quite a few years and I just discovered your videos as I try to create an online course. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with all of us.
Hi Victoria, I've been teaching for 11 years and just discovered your channel too. Love you personality and your videos. Thank you for sharing your content they are direct and on point. I have been creating vocal warm-up videos on my Channel with piano and some instructions on the screen. I'm not game enough to put my face on the screen. Good on you!
Could you do a video on singing exercises for beginners? I'm trying to learn singing on my own without a teacher and I see a lot of useful technique videos on youtube but not many videos on singing exercises to improve, and how to analyse my own singing to know what I need to work on. Thank you!
Ah! You should DEFINITELY watch my video, Singing Lessons for Beginners - LET'S START! ua-cam.com/video/WH_OV7yEDf4/v-deo.html. It is designed to be the first voice lesson and I tell you what to do from there and which videos to watch next. For a regular exercise routine, I have ua-cam.com/video/3UL3aQpTh_U/v-deo.html. I do have an audio exercise instructional program that will be coming out so stay tuned for that! :)
Can u make a vid about circulation mechanism of voice when we sing, cuz i watch alot of video already but i still don't get how to make my voice out perfectly, theres still a lil bit of nasallity everytime i listen to my singing video 😭😭
hi victoria great video! i have a question, when i breath while laying down or sitting i can feel like i get really good air flow but when im standing i feel like my abs are resisting my breath and i can barely get enough air though im really trying to make the belly as relaxed as possible. like for example ive seen a breathing exercise that you have to inhale 5 seconds and release for 5 seconds.i have no problem what so ever doing it while sitting but when standing i can barley inhale for 2 seconds. thanks a lot!
Hi, ParTdave. What you describe is quite common - you are tight when you stand up. I have an exercise that should help. I do this exercise in the first session of my beginning voice class and everyone yells out that they finally get their abs to release and expand. Simply bend over at the hip sockets, about 45 degrees, put hands around the mid-section, and inhale-exhale several times. The abs will be released because it is much harder to hold when bent over. You should be able to feel the expansion all the way around. Then come up 1/3 of the way and inhale-exhale again. Then continue, up another 1/3, until you are all the way up. It will get harder to achieve the omni-directional expansion as you move upright, but that's where the practice comes in! :).
what about breathing out in on mic after phrase? especially live pop singers you see them breathe out on mic after phrase then move mic away to breathe but when they bring mouth back to mic you hear them breathe in. also after concert for you on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being so much you can't speak what is your post concert breathing like? open mouth breathing like you ran a marathon?
Hey Victoria! I'm suffering with ibs since the past year, I saw your post on reddit, I am signing since three years but since my ibs I feel that my abdomen is getting tired earlier than before and I end up stressing my throat at the end of my singing sessions, can I do this exercise? Also any suggestions/tips would be helpful, thanks!
Perhaps you are tightening your abs as you inhale and sing. Your abs should not feel tired, nor should your throat feel stressed. I would discuss this with your dr. If you have not watched my 3 videos on the Tight Throat and Throat Tension, I would watch that and see if they help.
Hi Victoria i try to inhale just like you say and i expand my medium Cage, but almost nothing, except for the belly, the belly expands enough but my waist and all around not that much, my chest does not collapse, but i feel like i inhale very little air
I recommend that you watch or carefully review my first video on inhalation, making sure to do the exercises. They should definitely help! How to Breathe When Singing (Inhalation) - Explained SIMPLY, CLEARLY, CORRECTLY! ua-cam.com/video/qzrHSAFV-EM/v-deo.html
I have a question. Does the lower rib cage move the same way as the abdomen? For example, when I'm already singing/exhaling, does the ribs also slowly move back to its natural position, or does it just stay there to act as a support? Thank you in advance, miss Victoria 😃
Yes, the body comes in GRADUALLY, regulated by your breath support. This is all explained in my very important video, Breath Support for Singing - CLEARLY & CORRECTLY explained - FINALLY! ua-cam.com/video/WR2772TGrgo/v-deo.html

That tells me you are tight in your upper and lower abs, which then makes everything else lock up. Watch my video on Breath Support vs Strain - LOCKING THE VOICE? Also watch my other videos on Breath Support.
Check with your dr about your back issues if you had an injury. Also, watch the videos here: PLAYLIST: Breathing & Breath Support for Singing ua-cam.com/play/PLaWjWxiTysDCQDneLVxvJRkJp_Omj_vbp.html
I have this problem like #5 I breathe into a tight throat. When I breathe in my tongue goes back into my throat. How can I stop doin that? Cause when I don't do it which is very rarely my voice sounds "big".
Oh, yes, breathing with the tongue pulled back will close off the back of the throat. Keep the tip of your tongue behind your bottom front teeth when you breathe and also do not flatten the tongue. Here is my video on tongue tension. This should help! ua-cam.com/video/pfawOn6yFa8/v-deo.html
This video is on inhalation, which prepares you to sing. We sing on the exhalation, controlled with breath support. Watch my videos on breath support and how to apply it to singing.

I’m not sure what your question means. You should use up your breath in the singing phrase and take the right amount of air to sing the next phrase.
I've enjoyed it a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it

When do we apply this laughing technique,is it when we sing high pitch ?
The laughing exercise is for breath support.
