I used to never wear nail polish because I couldn’t paint my non dominant hand. Then a friend told me her secret, just paint them not minding what gets on your skin around the nails. All the paint that misses your nails will come off in the shower.
It definitely will if you use gel-like nail polish. It will easily chip off around the edges because the layers on your skin aren't as thick as they are on your nail.
Practice makes perfect, but let’s not waste nail polish I got better by “painting” on cuticle oil like nail polish every day and trying to get it as perfect as possible (and then went on to mess it up again by massaging it in) Naturally, oil smoothens its own surface so you can’t tell if the pressure is right but other than that this is a pretty good way to practice brushstrokes.
I think watching nail art videos and how others apply polish has improved my technique. Also nail brush shape has made a big difference. I have wide fingers and fingernails, so I need a wide brush. I wish it was easier to see the nail brush shape in the bottle of polish before purchase.
Good tips, but you're right that it all comes down to practice. I've gotten to the point where my dominant hand often comes out looking better than my non-dominant hand! I have to lay my hands flat to polish, though, I can't polish them bent in facing me.
These are really good. Love that color, what nail polish is it? When I paint my nails, my non-dominant hand which is left, start shaking a bit not much but it's a bit annoying, I keep painting my nails to get my hand used to do detail painting on my nails. Also I take a little break so that I don't get frustrated of what I'm doing :D I just noticed that I sometimes do that wrist to wrist thing :)
Thanks for sharing these tips. I also appreciate you saying how bad you were at polishing your nails in the beginning. I watch You Tube and I think "how do all these ladies polish so mistake-free?" Happy New Year!
I dont know if u have heard but u should never shake up a bottle of nail polish and then apply it. U will have tons of little bubbles and it wont really have a sleek shiny look.
I right hander...so I paint my left hand nails easily.... I do paint my right hand nails with left hand...and its quiet good... But the real problem comes when paint designs...its a big mess around my cuticles 💅🏻
**People new to nail polish!!! Applying a base coat to your nails directly after using oil is going to drastically affect wear time! At minimum wash your hands. I wash my hands and also use a q-tip to apply straight acetone to every nail before moving on to polish. I have oily nail beds and before this step I would get maybe two days before chipping. Now I get minimum 5 days (often longer with better brands). 😖 Cringing right now y'all!

aerosol yup lol or you could just rub it off when it’s dry
Really?
@Im Jia oh ok lol
Actually yeah. It comes off in the long run

The rubber band is sooo helpful! I was born with a disease where I have shaky eyes and hands, so it’s should help a lot! Thanks :)
I think it helps to try not to get too close to the cuticle with the brush. Nice, clean, long strokes. 💅
I just painted my nails and nest up so much I wish this came out earlier

I ran out of base coat can I use a top coat as a base?
It can make your polish pop off cause its too smooth so you're better of not using one or buy another.
Lighter colours are only less prominent on skin when you have light skin
I right hander...so I paint my left hand nails easily....
I do paint my right hand nails with left hand...and its quiet good...

You paint a house. You polish your nails.
which nail colour is that??
First luv it
My left is dominant but I do perfectly on all 10
what kind of pusher is that???
its from an old opi line from years ago but I'm assuming its just a regular cuticle pusher!
It's an angled cuticle pusher, with rainbow titanium plating.
Well, it is different to find tje perfect colors
Hi dear my smal queries that if I apply nail paint on right hand ✋ it's not dangerous because in this hand we will have food please reply
I will try great tips right away! Must cut my nails otherwise my husband still applies for a gun license!😂😂😂😂And then I'll paint 'em right away
I am bad at painting my weak hand, so needless to say my dominant hand is a real struggle.
Hi
I'm right handed so i paint my left easily but my left arm is broke rn so i can't paint my right hand🙃
You can use school glue if you don’t have liquid latex.
Okr so my name is hannah
Good idea... but the problem is TIME
Funny, I'm only ambidextrous when painting my nails. Anyone else?
At the 1.5 minute mark, I don't know how you hold your hands in that position. I find it impossible.
Hannah kinda sounds like LavenderTown
