- Today the Carrera GT is 22 years young!
Porsche unveiled the concept car to the press at the Louvre Museum in Paris on September 28th 2000.
Today seemed the right day to launch our user’s guide for the Carrera GT. 🥸
Currently we have a number of cars available, both 🇪🇺 and 🇺🇸 specifications.

That Carrera GT is stunning in that colour. Hard to believe that they're now 22 years old. It looks so fresh and modern today in 2022. Such a special car.
These User Guides are a real treat and I always look forward to them. And that Color is stunning! easily my favorite. Keep up the great work DK Engineering.
I find them really useful too as I'll never be able to afford to buy one or work on one, but makes me think I'll know what to do
My grail car
I don't mind you guys doing user guides on modern hypercars as well. Such a good information.
Never stop doing these.
James could produce a users guide to a tricycle and I would watch it. What a genius! More lovely stuff. Thank You, James. DK continues to be a cut above.
I think all Carrera GT owners should do a 'what's in my CD changer' show and tell
Can't believe it was my favorite CD in the CD Player!!!!!!! Made in Heaven.
There is a tab on the gearbox-housing where you put the negative lead when jumpstarting or connecting a trickle-charger..... the suspension is attached to the carbon tub and thus isolated from the battery!
absolutely love this series. that colour is phenomenal too.
Beautifully spec'd CGT. Must've been a classy owner to spec it this way... This series is amazing, keep it up.
Another DK Engineering classic...
very helpfull i drive the Carrera GT all the Time ! very Often ! much driving experience!
Love the 996-era menu, worked great on my C4S!
Why does it feel like i'm actually buying this car
Well thanks a lot mate, everyone knows about my secret compartments now!
Looks stunning in midnight blue.
I consider myself a real petrolhead and somehow never knew about some of the more racing inspired features of the Carrera GT... the left side ignition & beechwood gear knob, a racing V10 that was never fully realized...
I'm continually impressed by the attention to detail and respect DK engineering gives to these cars!
The next Super Car I purchase, I want it to be from DK so that James can instruct, teach and school me on every little detail and nuance of the car in question. James obviously respects and cares for these beautiful machines. A rare quality indeed. I hope the ‘Users Guide’ series will continue.
Please do a Zonda User's guide!
I love that colour. Looks soo much nicer than the boring typical silver
looks great in good light and really dull in bad light...but yeah, I'd have my CGT in exactly this spec.
This, is the most beautiful car ever made
Amazing, lots of memories moving these cars around back in the days. You forgot to mention the absolute quality feeling of the car, way above the same era Ferrari Enzo. How light the roof panels are, and how tight they sit when placed back. How all feels absolutely rock solid inside. Another interesting point worth mentioning is the length of the clutch and how high the point sits: below, you only rev up; above, it stalls. Thanks for the video.
It really does have a bank vault feeling of quality. I haven't been in a Carrera GT or Enzo, but I have no doubt what you're saying is true. Interestingly I hear Horacio Pagani has a Carrera GT himself as he was so impressed with the build quality of it.
@@jrbuch It’s exactly the quality of all what surprises the most, especially considering the cars of that era. An MC12 looked raw, and actually a bit low-key when looking and touching materials. An Enzo felt quite like a toy, all very light and so on, but switches and nobs felt like what they were. Even if I recall, both cars seats would make some noises. The roof of the MC12, apart from really big, although light it didn’t feel solid, and finishing inside was just racing purpose. That was mainly the difference: MC12 was a racing car, Enzo was the street version kinda toy. The Carrera GT was just amazing, how the carpets perfectly matched their space over the carbon fibre floor, how the seats and steering wheel felt rock solid and, apart from the amazing looks of the engine bay, I come back to the same place: those roof panels and how tight yet incredibly light they felt. A Veyron, also on same years, was a completely different story...
sooo asmr,love it this content👌👌
Incredible spec
These series are just superb.
Dream spec.
Just great, really love this series. Thanks for filming them!
Love this series. Watched all of them. Congrats DK.
James, bearded guy who told you a great UA-cam channel at the Pebble Beach Tour. Great Goodwood Sussex Race drive, congrats!
Oh yes. About time we had another one of these. Love these videos. Love the car too!
Fantastic - thank you for taking the time to show us the details of this beautiful car!
That spec is amazing. Especially the colour
The best spec of an epic machine... and there were several little details I didn't know about it here!
These user guides are great
I’d like to see you do more
These guide videos are some of my fav on UA-cam
Love your Video! Perfect Car in the perfect spec ❤❤❤
These videos are pure class.
Amazing video, as usual
_the best Porsche engine sound ever._ _This color goes very well with the GT_
Brilliant series and incredibly informative, presentation of both the vehicle and presenter outstanding, Thank You.
Such a stunning car. The attention to detail is phenomenal.
Fantastic presentation, thanks for sharing!
What a masterpiece of an automobile. I’ll never own one but these user guides are a neat insight most will never experience. 👏🏼
I love those videos…. It makes me feel that I am owning the car and learning to operate it!
Loving that bespoke midnight blue!!!
What a great features for a car of that age! Especially the hidden "safe" in the doors for your jewels (of the missus) and your watch collection!
Perfection made car. I love it!!
Stunning, thanks.
Great video and (ahem) thanks for the tip on being able to adjust the brightness of the dash lighting. Despite owning 997s for many years, I don't know you could do this!
More videos like that please 🙏
That colour combo is absolutely top notch, exactly how I would spec it, IF ONLY…. 😂
I love these videos
The interior looks timeless
Absolute dream car. Like your kermit too!
great vid!!!!!
Nice. Was that Queen's Made In Heaven CD?
Lovely car.
The best car ever made
thank you.
I really wish we could get these kind of videos more often.
My favourite supercar with that awesome V10 and manual gearbox. Great colour. Not so keen on the silver ones.
Cheers for letting everyone know where I keep my Richard Mille when I’m parked up in my Porsche GT 🤦🏻♂️
Great vid & superb machine 👍🏻 (just a pity about those nasty mirror switches that look exactly like the ones from a Vauxhall Cavalier!😖)
A little compartment no thief would know about! until now. XD
Best GT color & interior option in my opinion
11:37 pushing the bonnet down with your hand and a ring...Nice. also your watch bracelet on the gear knob at the start. Careless
I got to replace an engine in one of those when I was a Porsche dealer tech……fun job….lol
Please make a video on the GMA T.50!👍
I don’t own a Porsche yet, but I’m watching to manifest
Enzo would make for a good users guide!
Door compartments would have been good for umbrellas
"Made in heaven" from Queen in the cd changer 😅
7:13 so true. The Carrera GT lasts forever and is so damn reliable, but of course it is, it’s a Porsche
Is there any chance to have a users guide from a Lexus LF-A on this channel .?!
Colour combination looks remarkably similar to my X5, but I know which one I’d much rather have 😅
Three cheers for getting the beechwood gear knob right. Not balsa!
Another tip is do not go sideways at 80 mph into a paked Honda Odessy in your Gambala special then drive off on 3 wheels and hit a few more cars like that guy in New York did a while back, tho that motor sounded mangnificant reving out
Now I imagine some owners rushing to check what's inside hidden door compartment ;D
Interesting. Could you explain the differences between EU cars and US cars other than CO2 regulation and stronger AC? Thanks
U.S. spec cars have those ugly amber side markers.
👍🏽
And now we all know the secret compartment! 😂
You all ever see an EB110 to do one of these?
4:20 thats crazy 💀
The Porsche V10 F1 engine was indeed put into use but it was heavier, underpowered and unreliable compared to the competition so Footwork had to switch back to a Ford Cosworth V8 after very few races. Yes, even Porsche can make mistakes/trash, don't hide them, tell 'em like they are.
This cars simplicity is just a wonderful antidote to the modern crap we get these days.
Petrol cap? How will I fill her up?
Watched it with interest, despite, unless I get a lottery win, being a bit short of cash to buy one
I thought this car didn’t have traction control?
Jes, look at the spec.
damn whats the name of that color?
Why did i search for this even though i dont own one
I thought these had no traction control.
:Like Douglas De Muro in a shirt
Does anybody know what the CD was?
0.39
QUEEN - MADE IN HEAVEN
Wow, the fuel consumption is lower than my golf 1.9 🤔
RIP PW
Goes to show how 99% of these owners have no clue how to service such things. “Just bring it to your service agent” 🙄
Taking a look at the engine bay, you can still access quite a bit. Especially with the suspension. But accessibility to the engine itself can be tough 😔
No matter.. not that I would ever want a GT. 🙂
The CGT has a service agent, NOT a mechanic!
Let's just hope thieves don't have internet.
Carrera GT or F50 ?
To me, it's got to be the F50, but similarities are clearly there. The Porsche is a more "senior" product, if I may say. Carrera GT or Enzo? Obviously both.
@@gebe8978 They're so simmilar actually. Both have removable hardtops, carbon tubs, naturally aspirated engines and 6 speed manual gearboxes with pushrod suspension.
@@jrbuch But the Carrera GT is so much better built...
For me, it's a difficult choice. The CGT is faster and looks better. But the F50 was there when I was a kid. Rarer too.
The F50 is said to be very nice to drive. CGT not as friendly.
