- Wilhelm Schäfer was born on the 20th of October 1911 in a village of Obhausen then part of the German Empire. Schäfer learned bricklaying at a small local business and though after a year of apprenticeship, he was out of work, he quickly found a job as a farmworker in his hometown. Although Schäfer was very much a part of the working class, he felt distanced from the politically active, left-wing, or unionized workers, seeing them not as allies but as personal adversaries.
This hatred was rooted in his upbringing at home as his father was a fanatical follower of the so-called "national forces."

@@ladycplumMy husbands father was w Patton in Buchenwald..the People of Weimar had no clue what they were about to see ..they knew that the camp was there but had no knowledge of these atrocities

Americans are like this a lot. Our armed forces never hesitate to send help as soon as one asks for it. We don't even ask any questions at all. We just do it. In this case, I'm glad that sentimentality prevailed as it saved God knows how many lives from what would've been certain death. May the many victims of these horrible camps Rest In Peace alongside those who fought to free them.
Brutal? What the heck is brutal about all but instantaneous death? Kindly explain what was brutal about this war criminal getting a much easier death than any of his hundreds of victims. You have an odd idea as to what brutal means.

Yes, Wilhelm was worse than Netanyahu. Nazi’s used the skin of those they murdered to make lamps and such, as an example. I agree Netanyahu is an extremist and has only one goal without care to the civilians. The millions upon millions that Nazi Germany killed definitely overrides anything Israel has done.
