just watched this guy All Out War's video on this album and it looks like he came up with the "nothing says fuck you like a new album" joke before me, so i wanna shout out his video because clearly he, like i, is a comedy genius. also the video is pretty good
ua-cam.com/video/M4QijSTtvKY/v-deo.html
Yo, dude thanks for the shout out. I remember watching your Green Day videos back in the day and enjoying the piss out of them. Glad to see you're still around.
Green Day has 4 awesome pop punk albums (the first 4). Another 3 great albums where they experiement different sounds (the next 3). One boring & too long rock opera (21st century) that was (to me) their first "bad" album. After that album they haven't released anything good (except one or two songs here and there, like Lights Out, Cigarrettes & Valentines, Hearts Collide; .. )
You should review their great albums, not only their crap ones haha.
Revolution Radio is To be Kind compared to this album
honestly yeah
Ooooooo hot take
The only issue I had with Revolution Radio is the production and mixing. The quiet bits are too quiet and the loud parts are too abrupt, Outlaws for example. My issue with this album... well, how much time do you have?
The 14 thumbs down are from ARTV's multiple accounts
Pahahaha
Wrong! He agrees it’s their worst record, says it’s their one bad album, and downgraded his score of it to a 2.5/5.
The thumbs down people on this video are people who can’t accept the fact that people have different opinions.
i really enjoyed revolution radio tbh
Emil Bendek me too. It’s an 8/10 in my opinion, not a 5/10.
Same here ahaha.
So do I. I love all their album's, FOAMF is awful though but there's some songs I like on it but I avoided listening to it like the plague after the singles were released, oh man was I pissed! I love Green Day but this is by far their worst album!
Green Day has been really important to me too. I was really shocked by how bad this album was.
Daniel Oster i really cried when this came out.
and not in the good way.
@@briwalker2290 LMFAO you coming back a year later
I have a soft spot for this album, as Father of All is the first Green Day album I bought as I became a fan in 2019. So it's not my favourite Green day album but it's still fun to listen too, fight me.
"Do I like Music" i laughed so hard i choked. Thanks 🤣
Yes
Should have called it father of all dookie
Father of All Dumpster Fire.
But I agree as a Green Day fan it's garbage
When you realize that Green Day has not made a great album in 10 years.
Alonso Rojas they haven’t even made an okay album in ten years
Almost 20 years... 17, to be precise.
@@betobandes8923 21st century breakdown was good lol
@@danieldeitz429 it had like 2 good songs. It wasn't a good album overall.
Beto Bandes shenanigans? Isnt that just a b side record or something? That’s the only Green Day album released around 17 years ago lol
Agreed. Album absolutely sucks. Sadly.
@ 3:31, dude this record is a massive troll... it has to be... I need it to be.
Hey guys, I'm a teenage teenager!
The Calling All Stations of Green Day.
I thought that the album was fun and different. I liked it. I didn’t love it, but I like it. I don’t know why everyone gets so insulted by them doing something different.
this album is awesome as hell if you stop worrying about what green day is to you, and to me that kind of makes it their best album yet. the opening track is all bout that jump. get rid of your paranoia by dancing with it. and politically wise it criticizes yourself and everything at the same time, complete anarchy and the most punk shit they ever done
Jean-marc Bottaro exactly. Everyone thinks Green Day should sound a certain sound (either Dookie or American Idiot). Much like Dos this is just another Foxboro Hottubs album disguised as a Green Day album. Seems like this was more of a rock tribute album than anything.
It’s Green Day. They’ve been alienating people since 1993. In that context, this is just another album. And as just another album, I don’t love it, but it’s pretty decent.
OH YEAHHHH OH YEAHHHH
I really love the trilogy albums, just fun Rock'N'Roll music.
That being said, rev rad and father of all are horrible.
They got lost in the Foxboro Hot Tub thing and they can't get out.
(I like the FBHT tho)
The cover of the album is one of the funniest things I've ever actually looked at. The fact that this actually took 4 years to come only clocking in at like 26 minutes is beyond me.
Kanye literally scrapped a whole project and released Jesus is King in under a year (that's not to say that was good either)
I absolutely hate this album. It’s clearly lazy, it screams “our audience is easy to please” it’s just truly annoying that this is in their discography. It wasn’t fun, it wasn’t punk, it had no direction. Just lazy
I do like this album but it’s too short It’s only 26 minutes long I wish it was at least 42 minutes long This is not their best album I don’t have a least favorite songs on the album It’s just some of the production on the album and the rock and roll Influence Sounds very familiar and sounds like I heard the songs before I do like it but it’s not being close to being the best album
Some of the songs feel like a wasted opportunity. Graffitia could've been good, I liked the quiet moments of the song but once the guitar starts sounding like a big fart the song gets annoying. I was a Teenage Teenager has an okay melody but the lyrics are terrible, the same happens with Sugar Youth. Honestly my faith in this band is gone. They haven't been good since 21st Century Breakdown.
How is Meet me on the Roof the worst track tho
I’m surprised ARTV didn’t give this a 5/5 like he initially did with Uno. I agree with your rating, this is a goddamn atrocity, worse than Uno in my opinion.
Look who's here lol

Hi there. Didn’t know you watch this channel.
@@Aya_02571 well i didn't know you watch this channel either
I thought revolution radio was honestly one of their best albums.
this album really broke my spirit, I waited all through highschool for ANYTHING after Back In The USA (which was excellent) and I was let down so damn hard
For me is an okay record
I had low expectation but I must admit I enjoy the songs, even if this is far from one of my favourite album
I hate the cover. I mean, pls why
It’s like the David Bowie album cover The Next Day. But that album was a deliberate re-contextual approach to Bowie’s music. This album cover is a slap to the face to American Idiot.
I think that the worst Green Day is still better than the worst weezer and fall out boy so.. at least it’s not that? I guess?
Did you listen to the newest Green Day album Saviors? I thought it was a huge step up from Father of All and would also put it slightly above Rev Rad.
I was a young boy who had big plans... I celebrated Green Day's breakout album Dookie, and each subsequent release - Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning - then came the rock opera. Fuckin A. Everyone seemed to lose their shit, while I was longing for the early days of Green. Sure, Idiot and Breakdown had some very good songs but damn. I guess my once favorite band "evolved" beyond me.... now I'm just another shitty old man.
great reference
Agreed. As a lifelong Green Day fan who did enjoy parts of the trilogy (definitely not all!!) , and quite liked Revolution Radio for the most part , I won’t lie and say I appreciated this album. I did not remotely enjoy it. I honestly don’t know what they were thinking. The reason I liked RevRad was because I know Green Day will never release another Dookie/Insomniac, American Idiot/21st CB again, yet they still treated us to the style we always loved them for. And the production may have been slightly iffy in parts, but I would not say it was a complete fail, but as a whole album, definitely the best effort they made and may always have made since 21st CB. But this album is just really poor. What they were trying to pull off is beyond both our understanding, friend. Also, if I were to slightly rate one song, I wouldn’t even rate the title track. It’s also god awful. That would go to Sugar Youth, but then again, it’s still not very good. Just a tiny bit listenable in comparison to the rest.
5:01
As a defender of this record, I would have to kind of agree with this point. If this was a Foxboro Hot Tubs record or even a Longshot record, I don’t think it would be getting *nearly* as much hate.
0:21 By the look on Louis's face, you automatically know that he's about to review a complete atrocity of an album.
I was hugely disappointed in Revolution Radio at the time of it's release. I didn't think it was bad, just not up to their usual standards! And I didn't hate the trilogy like most people. I liked Uno, thought Dos was their worst record but still not awful, and I thought Tre was a masterpiece! After Dookie, American Idiot, Warning, and maybe Nimrod, Tre would probably be my next favorite. I have come to appreciate Revolution Radio much more over the years, especially after the dumpster fire that was Father Of All, lol! And Father Of All is not a bad album, it's just a bad Green Day album! If the album was from Joe Blow Nobody I'd probably like it more, lol! Like you said, the songs are bland and not very memorable and sound like songs you would hear playing on commercials. They're not bad, and are kinda catchy but no substance to them. My major problem with RevRad was the songwriting. To me, the strongest part of Green Day has always been his songwriting and the lyrics just seemed dumbed down to me.
That is why i just listen the old stuff before uno
Holy shit calm down dude
If you enjoyed this, that’s fine.
I Actually Like This Album, It Just Doesn't Sound Like Them & It's A Little Too Catchy
You Also Didn't Really Talk About Songs 7-9
I like father of all. I hated it first time I heard it but after a few more listens I appreciate it way more. its nothing amazing, its not American idiot and its not dookie, but its something quick and fun
At the very least, Oh yeah introduced me to Joan Jett and that's a win my book
I hate it too. Except fire ready aim.
I swear to god you're Jared Dines' lost son
I've been binging all your videos for the past 4 weeks and im so glad to see another upload, great video aswell
Who can say they didn't see this coming? Oh Well. At least something that improved over the years is Louis looking more like a snack.
they could have made this album mostly to finish their contract with reprise
thank you.
Ah well, at least it has meme potential i guess
Hey, Louis are you going to do that podcast again?
The one with pentex
I actually do like this album, I didn’t like it at all upon first listen, but now that I’ve listened to the album a bunch, it’s actually not too bad.
Same. It's great background music at its worst. Revolution Radio took a while for me to warm up to also, but now its one of my favorite albums by them.
Chris Indermuehle Just bc I like the new album I have no taste in music? Lol okay buddy.
Chris Indermuehle Well news for you buddy, I’m not even a part of this generation. I don’t even like the music that this generation listens to.
Chris Indermuehle Headass
NovacaineRebelXx While I disagree, that’s fine.
I actually found your channel the past week because of your Green Day Discography Retrospective, and was waiting for your review of this album. It is a soulless piece of shit.
So I recently saw Green Day perform at the Hella Mega Tour in Washington DC and Pittsburgh, PA and I can confirm:
They did not play a single song from this album.
I don’t hate this album, but I agree it’s Green Day’s worst. I’m somewhat certain the band knew how much it divided fans. Don’t pay attention to those in the comments (you know who you are) who can’t handle someone giving a negative opinion of a band/album, etc.
I have a soft spot for this album, as Father of All is the first Green Day album I bought as I became a fan in 2019. So it's not my favourite Green day album but it's still fun to listen too, fight me.
I feel for you there's nothing worse than a band that you've been able to rely upon who you love cranks out an album that is so bad that it's just unredeemable or at least unlistable.
That being said why does this album exist well I think they're at the end of the record contract if I remember right, and why did it take 4 years well it probably didn't but the sounds of it they probably cranked it out and last like 3 months before they put it out that would explain the brevity of the album and the lack of good songwriting, and why would they do something like that I don't know why did Lou Reed do it at the end of his RCA contract when he made metal machine music sometimes the band just needs to tell their record and label to go f themselves
I like it ....yes very different for green day .....an I loved revolution radio but I liked warning......I do any how see how people could be pissed
I am the 70th comment. Lo siento
Edit: this was the band's midlife . . . process? Crisis? Wtf
The best songs on here are Graffita and Junkies on a High and definitely Teenage Teenager. They should have just made those singles and scrapped the other ones
I appalled the singles this album has, there are some tracks that I do like on there but I very much agree that they can do better it's pretty disappointing as a life long fan.
I can strongly agree that this is a bad Green Day album, but I personally love this album by itself, almost all the songs are memorable and get constantly stuck in my head
I just watched the end of your revoultion radio review and then watched this one right away.
Sugar Youth is the only song I can save
This album is the definition of a fever dream that goes on for an eternity.
I stop listening to GD after Warning.
Same. American Idiot was the last straw for me when they clearly sold out. Insomniac was their peak.
Father all is not dad
i think its the best thing they ever done lol
first
Its really not that bad, I hear all of the reviewers copying some comments from Anthony Fantano. I do have to agree with the fact that it's definitely not their best work, and yes their marketing was awful, but there were a few songs that I actually enjoyed
Pitchfork rated 6.3
Not bad
This and the trilogy is the most “rock n roll” stuff they have put out to date. Not sure why it gets all the hate
Not to mention revolution radio was flawless
@@dallaswhite6985 i disagree with your takes here, but i respect it.
I don't care what anyone says, I loved Father of All
green day puts out great music. catchy teenage angst songs.
Yah your right
""Do I like music?" ..... broaden your horizons.
You clearly don't know much about his taste. Maybe check his RYM page first before writing a comment like this.
This is a really bad review for someone who claims to be a fan. I feel like if you’re a fan, you’d really understand it more, and realize influences come out of nowhere. It’s good fucking rock n roll. They are the modern day Rolling Stones.
It ain’t even that bad. I think it would have a lot less hate if they had released it as a Foxboro Hot Tubs album.
GET A HAIRCUT BEFORE YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THINGS THAT ARE BAD
his hair is nice, lmao.
I'm sorry but all of these negative reviews on this album are nothing but just whinge, whinge, whinge. These so called "Green Day fans" have seriously got to grow up, it's just embarrassing.
@Chris Indermuehle "this generation" 😂 because what, you're 60 years old?
So you can’t be a fan of something and have a negative opinion ever ?
Clearly you’re not a real fan then dude. Green Day is the greatest band. Sorry but I can’t listen to some dude in his bedroom saying what Green Day “does wrong”. When you produce a killer record we’ll talk......
bro, again, you can be a fan and not like everything they do.
You say that as if Green Day made a killer record here 😬
I was so disappointed when I first heard this album. Just no! I am a lifelong Green Day fan (since I was practically a toddler) and this album hurt me. There's only like four tracks I like on this album. The only album in which the songs on it I don't really like overall and wish they hadn't made, whether it's because of Warner Bros records or not, this album is Green Day's worst and I hope they make up for it next time.
I honestly really enjoyed RevRad. It’s Probably my favorite Green Day album
