Hey Charlie, back in the early days of EFI it was common to add an additional injector to the intake similar to what you guys have done except the injector was triggered by a Hobbs Pressure Switch. That way the injector only provided additional fuel when boost was present. You would run a potentiometer inline with the injector to control flow. Pretty crude but at that point there was no aftermarket EFI tuning support.

Did this and added a pwm zkpp2k to fire injector or it would get stuck open, made 8 psi on a D16z6.

If it has the stock MAP sensor for the TBI, when under boost its just sending same fuel map to ECU as 0hg vacuum full thottle, so its choking out. Need a 3bar MAP sensor for forced induction and a way to meter fuel under boost, like a Megasquirt.

agus2001 My Geo Storm slows down when I turn on the Air Conditioner . I have the GSI ,DOHC model and I just did spark plugs , oil and air filter today and its also got new seat covers and tires and rims and steering wheel cover .

Loving the geo, no need to go full racecar but I'd like to see if new spark plugs or gaps fixes the sputter @ 50% injector and potentially little intercooler action. Keep up the awsome work guys one of my fav channels!

man makes me want to get a geo just for this. Make sure you guys remove or unplug the o2 sensor and reset the ecu, it will go into a rich safe mode and will help with fuel.

You guys should give the nice sounding inline 3 an intercooler and install the turbo directly onto the headers if it is a twin scroll turbocharger make sure the flow is improved for more ponies under the hood. For comparison look at the header design of the engine in the Veloster N or SAAB cars for inspiration.

Hey, whenever you guys are boosting something you should do a before and after 0-60 or 0-100 time, just so we could get a feeling what sort of gains you can get acceleration wise, not just hp.

@@evanwebb1607 Ive actually driven 2 geos at 90 miles and both were stock and manual transmission. One would shake a bit but it would go all the way to 90
Just found this channel and I have to say, this kind of thing seems so fun to me. Messing around with a cheap hoopty, building it up with buddies and going riding while tweaking settings... some of the best stuff in life is cheap (and sometimes free)!
I'm interested to see what you guys do to this metro, always been a fascinating car to me being so light, compact, and straight off the factory line with an inline three.

mteske1 lol my thought exactly. these dudes boosting like 3 cars and I can't even boost the one that I have lol and I got most of the parts stashed away.
The extra injector going into the intake pipe with a controlled amount is actually very smart considering you now wouldn’t need a fuel pump upgrade and the boost will force the fuel in faster through the intake side. I’d say get a thicker head gasket, set up the boost to 8psi, and maybe go into cooler with an open intake side on the turbo and hook up a wiper fluid sprayer to inject cool water into the intake side of the turbo to mist the air to become even cooler. Through straight up ice and water into the wiper fluid tank. Proper watergate set up and honestly I’d bet money with all that you’d go up to maybe 98-115hp? Idk maybe more with bumper side exhaust exit.

how? 3 exhaust outlets to one in all of a foot of pipe, how much slower do you think the airspeed is in that small pipe? virtually none! what kinda restriction would the turbo cause in comparison? they say you should keep bends smooth but in reality that only really applies post turbo as the turbo itself is the biggest restriction.
One of the few great small cars in America, owned on in Nova Scotia Canada for a few months and it was awesome, no driver side window and it occasionally ran on 2 cylinders. So awesome regardless.
I have been looking for one of this car's on and off for over 10 years but never found one for a reasoble price. More the Prism and regret selling it everyday since. The only Toyota with a Chevy badge and that's what makes the Prism great for the money for insurance purposes. Check the insurance rates between a Prism and Corolla. Plus you can't kill them and best gas mileage. Best used for a 1st date to pull up in one of the 2 Geos. See the reaction then you know with what's up with the chick if your looking for any type of a relationship. She acts up drop her off then come back in the real whip and it's your choice.

Chevrolet and Suzuki actually produced a turbo Sprint in late 80s. produced 100 hp. Later Chevy opted against offering it in the successive Geo Metro, but Suzuki continued to offer it in the Suzuki Swift twin.

@@richardkaltenbach9203 GM spec'd it for the US market you'll see parts differences just like the 2000's era Vauxhall Astra/Vectra is a GM base platform rebadged for the UK market with some differences in lights, interior trim and regulatory needs. , joint projects and rebadging happens all the time. GM are the OEM platform for some stuff and they buy in base platforms on occassion.

GM have built/badged economy cars since the chevette but the standard the market expects out of a budget car is now way way higher. The market won't accept econobox = disposable shitbox anymore.

I don’t know how often you read your comments, I am Kevin from saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada, this was one of the first few videos I’ve watched was of this car on your channel, I am building a 1.0 turbo (factory turbo model) bored bottom to 75mm (Honda d16 pistons) bugger cam, ported polished head, bigger turbo, modified intake, larger throttle body, stainless valves, megasquirt 3x, so much to list, hoping to break the 200 mark in a 1.0 ( after boring works out to over 1005 cc) can’t call it a 1.1 yet hahaha watching you videos daily even until today and all the videos, boosted boiz, pfi, cleetus, you all give me motivation to keep on building, you guys are so relatable and a lot of issues you run into I’ve ran into, I built my wife a turbo Chevy sprint convertible and blew it up, I fixed it up as cheaply as possible and she’s ripping in it till this day, trying to get into UA-cam no where as big as you guys but I am trying to do stuff to get footage. Keep on doing what you do I love watching every one of you always excited to see the next video of motivation. You guys should make a revised version of a turbo geo. How does boostedbois not have a portable wideband and laptop based data logger box? When I was 16 (10+ years ago) they were available for less than 400$ for everything. Monitor the map, tps, rpm, coolant, vss, duty cycle, spark advance with pigtail connectors boom done.

just a tip.to check for vaccum leaks just spray starter fluid around the intake and if the engine revs up then you know it is leaking because it sucked the starter fluid into the intake.
Should motor swap the Geo with something better and turbo it. I think the worse car in the world to get walked from is a Geo IMO.

Some mad men I worked with back in 2005 put together a turbo geo metro. Helped dirty tune the holly tbi they were using for engine management. When all was said and done that little bastard was laying down 112hp and eventually 120hp, which is more than twice the power those 3 cylinders were laying down stock. It was kind of fun like modded VW bugs from the 70s are. Good times.

I've owned several 3 cylinder Geos. At 1600 lbs they are definatly light. I always had the idea of getting like a 15-35 shot nitrous kit but run a bigger bottle then normal so you could just spray away lmao. At 40ish HP, a 25 or 35 shot would be a serious little jolt to the system. I know the factory turbo 3 cylinders made about 70hp. Again that was brand new. Idk if the turbos had better pistons or not but to my knowledge the convertible Metros had 4 wheel disc brakes so thats a noteworthy upgrade.

No tune, that's why they added the injector to add more fuel in boost so it doesn't lean out.

If you think about it that turbo was made for a 6 cylinder not a 3, that's probably partially the reason it takes so long to spool and doesn't hit high boost.
