I'm really a florals person, but have a hankering for landscape, as I live in the Lowlands of Scotland, lots of arable farm, castles, sea, forests.... and this incredible red earth. Another great tutorial Tom, thank you, must be harder to fit everything in now your back in teaching in the school classroom. I’ve not been creative since I tried a dog version of your tiger painting, so will try a collage landscape. Explaining the different parts of landscape was great help and will give me structure and framework to aim for.

I took a course where we used magazine colors. Ripped into strips. And basically did what you did. We put watered down acrylic and patted dry in areas. I have pictures I could send. But where

Tom, this was very enjoyable and informative. I have never done this and I’m just wondering what is the significance of the first step of cutting up the photos. How does it differ from just working from one photo?

Thank you Ginger. It’s meant to be for an abstract landscape so you can create your own, meaning using elements which wouldn’t normally fit together but as long as the perspective was right it would fit. You could just use a normal photo though.

I'm pretty sure it was diluted acrylic, great to know your enjoying them.
What kind of paper are you using to make your coloured sheets that will eventually be cut or torn to make the landscape? And acrylic paints?
