Love this tutorial! Would love to see more abstract landscapes. Your landscapes and mixed media are so fresh and interesting. Thanks for sharing your talent.
This clear demonstration was really helpful in showing how to build up a painting and giving information on the techniques and colours used. Thank you!
Just did an urban scape after a long walk and your inspirational video; so important to keep the momentum and speed. Developing new techniques with the ever forgiving acrylic- liked the idea of a paper edge to paint a geometric forms. Loved the two minute limit to plan. More of these spontaneous/ technical combos please.
Love your very laid back style of showing have your work - at the same time very conytolled and yet loose and freestyling - and I like the way you show how you work in layers and your feeling of values and color in a very rexperienced and at the same time very relaxed way
Glad you enjoy it Mary. i only really brush the surface of the technique i will be setting up a Patreon in the next few months giving a more in depth look into creating a piece of work:)
@@TomQuigleyArt I most certainly did Tom and your tip about not being too precious about your work and just going for it was really helpful and helped me to finish my first ever canvas which I'm really happy with now! Cheers Tom. 👍🏼
A really nice picture of abstract landscape, combine acrylic and Oil Pastel. I see you use Pentel oli pastels, student grade, they look great. Tom, you talk and paint very fast, you are a great very skilled artist. I watch you in slow motion. I wish for more tutorial re abstract landscapes perhaps with oil pastel. I really hope you do more charcoal drawing, a full piece, just skip now the little windows.
Liked your spontaneous style and the use of values. As my mentor stated a million time respond to what you are feeling. Let you soul transform into your hand. Put it down and leave it.
Very very nice your shared video congratulations on your sharing thank you for sharing .Thank you for.. the Sharing .please Stay Connected...💗.💟.💯..💞.. .
Thanks really enjoyed seeing how to you broke it down to get started. Making me think how to take this concept and use it as a starting block for an abstract painting?
Goodness Tom, I’m always in awe. Loved this, loved watching it develop and thought the finished piece was stunning. Thank you for demonstrating this particular painting style. So cool!
Hi Tom your videos are immense! Sadly I only found them this year 2022! Duuuuh Don’t know if you still check your messages. But if so I want to say a huge thanks for your direct, No nonsense approach and generosity of heart in sharing your skills. You are a genius and amazing!
Tom, great! I really valuable instruction and tutorial. Thank you so much. My tutor at Art school recommended I watch this AS we are working through pastels at the moment, oil pastels and this is a great combo of pastel and acrylic paint which we often use as well. Thank you so much Best wishes Tim
I know you thought this piece is just a "sketchbook" page, but I would seriously hang this on my wall! It's really beautiful. How would you seal the oil pastel in so it doesn't transfer to the opposing page? Thanks for your generous content. I love your channel!
I so wish that we had had, inspiring teachers like you when I was in school in the 70's, lol. Art O level then was such an unevent unfortunately 😞🎨. Love your videos and energy, lucky students 🍀😊🎬
Enjoyed ...the art process... I'd like to see if you can do some sennlier metallic pastel stick drawing/ painting, as I'd like to purchase them but am a newbie in the use of our sticks...thanks many art blessings to you today
Love this, especially showing how you broke the pictures down and abstracted them. I always get bogged down in the detail! Thanks Tom.

I love your loose way of painting…. I can do this with alcohol inks but do get bogged down when I have a paintbrush in my hand !!
ALWAYS LIKE TO LEARN GRAPHIC TIPS. SO BUSY I HAVE TO GET BACK INTO IT AGAIN.
Brilliant learned a lot off that
Thank you I love this video ❤
What type of fixative or varnish do you use? It's a question, thank you for your video and your answer.
Hey Tom, Sure like what you're doing. Is your oil pastel water soluble? Think I will be learning a thing or two, or lots more. Jack in Texas
I cant think as fast as you talk... but I loved watching your process. And the results.
Sorry Janene
I learned so much!
Thanks - really interesting! Only thing is how do you seal this if you want to exhibit this? I don't think oil pastel dries?
Enjoyed ...the art process... I'd like to see if you can do some sennlier metallic pastel stick drawing/ painting, as I'd like to purchase them but am a newbie in the use of our sticks...thanks many art blessings to you today
Beautiful! Thank you🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Sue
Thank you for yout tutorial. How to sharpen the oil pastel please

Do you ever sell your "Sketches?" I think they are
Wonderful! And you painted it in just a half hour! Wow!

My pleasure Cheryl
Great drawing. Your talent is amazing.🥰🥰
Thank you! Cheers!
Brilliant
Love it. But one question... do you need to seal the oil pastels to avoid it smearing, ie in the sketchbook?
Thanks! Do you also combine oil paint with oil pastels?
Hi Tom, I really enjoyed the video. You have a lovely sketching hand - were you trained as an Architect?
