Sorcery popularity is driven by the handpainted art. That's what standsout from a distance. Mike's group on Facebook isn't really a pump and dump either. It's the most active Sorcery group on Social media and the art is sold on behalf of the artists/alterists amongst other things. Mike genuinely loves and cares about the art and the game. Good on him for contributing to sharing the awesomeness that is Sorcery
I can already feel the very beginning of Louie pulling away from Sorcery :( The Beta precon decks are THE precon for the game. Making a new set of decks for every set is silly. However, I've always agreed with George that Sorcery needed to be a boardgame or a LCG.
Arthurian Legends would benefit from precons. Something that might be a strategy moving forward would be to release the precons a month before the actual set to increase the demand for the full set.
Louie, you are so, so WRONG. The main appeal of Sorcery as a collectible is definitely the art. All the other factors like rarity, etc. mean nothing if the cards didn't have the eye appeal.
Costco‘s chicken bake is alright… think it needs more caesar sauce lol. It be dry. ALTHOUGH! ☝️ Costco’s ice cream is super creamy and good 😋 The guy working there said if you order a whole cheese pizza, they put an extra pound of cheese on it 😲
The Sorcery board game has no secondary value. The artwork is what sells it, and it confuses consumers. They believe it's collectible just because of the artwork.
For AL to have precons they really need 4 new avatars and it sounds like there will only be one or two in this expansion. With the beta precons still readily available I don't see them having much new to offer in an AL precon kit.
The Mickey is not a reprint of the original D23 promo. It is the same version of the card as the first D23 promo set, Mickey Brave Little Tailor, but not a reprint of the first promo. If you want to play semantics, all of the promos are “reprints” by your logic since the cards have already been printed in normal sets, save for the ones from the future sets.
@@ryankoenig8507 lol I will admit even tho I haven’t played it, I’ve watched matches and I do love the whole grid style and how swingy some of the uniques are, so eventually one day I will.
Whats funny is I opened 1 case of Star Wars and got a complete base set minus 3 legendary (which I did get in other treatments that were not base). Plus a showcase… must have just had a lucky case but my collation was fine.
One of the largest Sorcery groups on FB is dedicated solely to the art, and the founder of the group admittedly doesn't play the game. I love that this reprint is happening, cards need to get into players' hands. The art and collectability are a hook, the mechanics are too good, and gameplay is what should really be driving the sustainabilty.
That’s correct. I said I HAVE played it, but with three very young kids it is very difficult to find the time to play. I wish I could, but it simply isn’t possible for me at this stage of my life and with all of my various endeavors and family commitments. I also openly state the importance of gameplay and encourage everyone to enjoy the project however they like. All interest segments are important, and to each their own. I also think it is an overstatement to say it is dedicated solely to the art. I encourage everyone to discuss gameplay or whatever their interest category is. I am just personally very active in the group and talk about what I am knowledgeable in, and can’t contribute as much with gameplay due to lack of depth of knowledge in that area. That said, I have also done a ton of research in to the historical development of the game, and share a lot of content about both that and art as my areas of expertise. I welcome others to please contribute gameplay discussion. I find that fascinating too.
@@ryankoenig8507 two and two together haha. People were telling me this podcast was disparaging the group and criticizing the art of this game. I disagree
It's weird. I guess summer Fridays, have people busy unlike the fall and winter months. Man, I haven't had the money for any boxes this summer. I was buying one a paycheck. I haven't bought a box since MKM, worst set ever. I did buy some wilds of eldraine after that to get the bad taste out of my mouth. But no cowboys, MH3.... I do want some bloomburrow though.
Let's go! Valueless packs for the L!!! Uncle George and the other two cousins are back together! Glad the family fighting is over!!! 😅😂🎉 2:00?! I mean, I love it lol but did we leave the beep out on purpose? 😅😂🎉😊
Imagine how well Louie's other store events would do if he carnival barked his other events as much as he does the sorcery events.

THREE gamERgroves this episode and one almost from Louie! Also one homERtown. Keep up the good work guys!
Josh was right...Crocs are the Kim Karashian of footwear. Everyone has been in them, look comfortable but they are a HARD PASS.

32:18 we definitely don’t have a Costco here. Closest one is in Columbus 2.5 hours away 😂
I wondered the same thing. I wondered if he meant Sams?
Getting a text that says “hey do you want to go drunk driving?” Is actually the most West Virginian thing Louie has said
Josh! They definitely make size 15 crocs now. I found my first size 16 out in the wild at Hilton head this year! I am now an official owner of crocs!

He owns the original art for Grandmaster Wizard. And every pack he opens is accompanied with "i love the art on this card...."
@@Mike750200 lol 🤣so true

A company CHARGING to give out promotional material (cards in this instance) is the craziest shit I've heard in marketing. The absolute BALLS

If your pumping of metazoo didn't have me untrusting of your opinions then the croc endorsements have certainly pushed it over the cliff

I buy sorcery only for the art … and the tendies 😊
Play the game, equally as good as the art and the tendies 😄

The crocs section broke Josh
Should we tell them Bloomburrow has a bonus sheet? Nahhhh, they’ll figure it out😂
Put Alcohol, Booster Snacks, and energy drinks next to mtg at costco
Josh is definitely more jacked than a kangaroo. I’m on team Josh taking the kangaroo 💪
The Banana Stand is in fact doing a Play Booster sale, a day late and a Banana short 🤣

Louie has a box of slabbed Krytik?!! Were you drunk???
He doesn’t listen to his friend that tells him not to buy every slab on the market and this is the result 😅
Thank you Louie for setting the standard for the podcast by calling it Tribal.

Josh opening packs this episode? You know it’s gonna be a good one!
No one has said FIRST! yet. But they have said SECOND. So…. First?
I prefer old school D&D artwork than modern, I would love a magic set that was done in that whole style, with a Heavy Metal secret lair.
Yeah, but what was wrong with her? @26:45

I share the chicken bake with my wife. It's too much
@JesterJ-dh1zp do you share with your boyfriend, or do you take the whole thing?
