I’m 56 post menopausal and I’ve been doing 16:8 with some variation of extend fasts and I’m down 27 pounds and have been doing it for 7 months. It’s the best lifestyle for me! I started at 165 and am down to 138. I’m 5’-2”. 😊
I'm also 56 post menopausal and I've been doing 19:5 to 20:4 since mid-December daily and I have lost 8 pounds and over 1% body fat on my VERY petite frame with only vanity pounds to lose. I started at the highest healthy BMI and my goal is the lowest healthy BMI (where I used to be before middle age spread). I am only 5 feet tall, can only do mild exercise at the moment (due to health circumstance) and have a small frame size. I consider this practically miraculous! It's now effortless to eat this way and I do eat whatever I want (but that is largely a whole food plant based diet). I will eat this way for the rest of my life! I actually "naturally" used to eat this way and was effortlessly quite slim and healthy in my teens through my 30's, super happy to be returned to this way of life.
I am 56 years old, post Menopause, I have been doing the 16:8, and often 17 or 18:6. it is not as hard as I thought it would be. But I have not lost weight yet? I do not eat much sugar, but I think I need to completely cut out carbs. How long until I see some results? I could use some inspiration?
I’m 59, and I started 16:8 last July(2023). I’m 5’2” and was 240 pounds last July. I currently weigh in at 155. I’ve been able to stop taking several meds for Type 2 diabetes! Soon to be 60 and I feel better than I did at 20!❤
Hi Dr Mindy. I am a 33 year old male who was obese all my adult life. Last November I was very depressed and my weight was around 88.8 KG’s with close to 38% bodyfat (195.7 Pounds). My wife motivated me to work on my health and that’s when I discovered your podcast on The Diary of a CEO channel about fasting. It’s been 4 months now since I started fasting and working on my body. I currently weigh 69.8 KG (153. 8 pounds) and I am at 24.9% body fat when I checked today. I lost a total of 41 pounds all through 16:8 fasting, resistance training + cardio 6 days a week and changing my diet. I am an aspiring mountaineer by passion and I am currently heading to the Himalayas to climb my first 4.5k meter peak in possibly one of the best physical conditions I’ve ever been in my life. Thank you so much for saving my life Dr. Mindy. I am forever grateful to you. All of this wouldn’t have been possible without those informative videos you post. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing. I was 147kg in 2021, I tried calories in - calories out method till end of 2022. I had dropped to 137kg. When I started IF and low carb after watching videos by Dr. Mindy and Dr. Ekberg, I dropped to 127kg in a few months. Currently, I am at 94kg. My target is 76kg which is supposed to be my normal body weight.
Fasting Like a Girl changed my life and I recommend it and following you on UA-cam to everyone. Thank you for your research and sharing. I am an active 73 yr old woman and beat Stage IV colon cancer 5 years ago. I currently work 2 jobs and ride and care for my 2 horses daily. Fasting to maintain my health and remain young and active.
I started on my new lifestyle February 2021 which varies IF 16/8, 17,18,19,20 done a couple of 24 hr. Mixed keto / Carnivore. I’ve lost 100 lbs. I’m insulin resistant. Was diabetic now pre diabetic. I have high cortisol levels because I work 11p-7a and I have sleep apnea. I realized if I wanted to live, something had to change. This is only the beginning for me. I have another 120+ lbs to lose! I’m thankful for finding Dr Mindy😊I’ve learned so much!
I hope Mindy realizes that there’s also guys who are watching & benefiting from her Videos as well. I’m up to 18:6 & feeling better than ever. Love the Vids.
kimchi , sauerkraught, bone broth and protein. Ease back into eating because You haven't eaten for 24 hrs. Lower carbs on that day. Next day also don't over eat. That info is in some of her videos and podcast
I'm a 64 year old woman from the UK. I was totally fed up being overweight, feeling unhealthy. A lifetime of yo yo dieting since my mid twenties always ended up with me putting the weight back on with interest. Now I have hope. I've dropped 33 pounds since last October thanks to intermittent fasting. I currently do 18/6 but will try 16/8 once I stabilise at my desired weight once I lose another 24 pounds I am confident I will get there It has been so easy, I don't feel humgry and enjoy my food more than I ever have. I more or less stick to a Mediterranean style diet and have cut out nearly all the processed crap. The difference this time is I really believe I can do this indefinitely . Willpower is no longer an issue for me. I ate a medium size Easter Egg my first chocolate in 6 months. It was a non event in the sense I didn't really enjoy it but I didn't put any weight on eithet. I probably won't bother with chocolate again. That's something for me as I was a lifelong chocoholic. Best wishes to everyone adopting this way of eating . I truly believe it is the answer for those of us who want to be a normal weight and healthy. Try it. You will not regret it.😀🇬🇧❤️
@@anneb5603 Hi there I'm in the East Midlands. I haven't done any prolonged fasting but haven't felt the need as weight dropping well. I'm happy with 18/6. I've got about 18 pounds to go. I've cut out nearly all ultra processed foods and mainly cook from scratch. Quite simple food really. Fish and veg, chicken and veg, meat and veg. Herbs and spices are great for making the food more tasty. Lots of fruit and veg and the occasional dessert or cake. We're going on holiday soon but I will stick to eating between noon and 6:00 pm. There will be treats like fish and chips, the odd ice cream or two but I don't fret that I will put 7 or 8 pounds back on. Last time in May I had some extra food when we holidayed for a week. Put on 2 lb and lost it within a couple of days of coming home. I am certain I can and will follow this eating strategy forever. All I can say is try it . I'm definitely a convert. You can do it.😀💕🇬🇧
Found Dr. Mindy 6 months ago. Did the 3 day fast then 16/8. Relax day on the weekend. 57 yrs old. Lost 35 pounds and size 15 jeans to a size 6. Love this. Thank you Dr. Mindy.
I have been trying to lose weight for so long incorporating fasting but so far not much success. I am just wondering what is it that you all brilliant women do that I don’t 😢
Since I started IF (12pm-6:30pm) and changed my diet to Keto, I lost 13 pounds and feel fantastic. I still “cheat” sometimes in my fasting window (a glass of red wine 1x/week) I have Lots of energy and mind clarity which motivated me to get back to the gym. I’m 54 and in perimenopause so this was life changing for me.
With the 10am to 6pm eating window, I lost 7.8% of my body weight 🙏 and could not believe it! I'm 56 yrs old now and have always been a health advocate but no matter what I did...was stuck on a weight plateau...BUT just within a period of 3 months of following Dr. Mindy's IF advice and eating nutritionally-dense food, I have now reached my ideal weight which I haven't even achieved for the past 3 decades!!! Tremendously grateful and could not thank you enough❣️❣️❣️ Shout-out to all wonderful ladies!! We can achieve this if we WILL💪
@@sanjam11 I was 124.4 lbs last December 2023; have always been between 120-125....I was down to 114 after 3 months! I'm 5'2"- so finally achieving this while feeling very healthy, noticed some muscles, getting leaner, and to top all of that, I've been much more alert-- I didn't have to engage anymore to strenous exercises but should conistently do resistance/strength training...Just needed to discover what works best in my routine, applying the good principles of fasting, moving our body, not giving up, as Dr. Mindy has laid out...Just so grateful!!
@@agewithcourage7536 That’s awesome!!! My goal weight is 125 & am stuck at 137 pounds. May I ask if you did any cardio and what kind of strength training were/are you doing? Did you count calories or macros? Have you been doing 16:8 all the way until your goal weight? Sorry for the questions. I am 50 and struggling with my weight loss. I walk 5-6 miles mostly everyday.
I really like the 7-3pm eating style. I did eliminate all bad oils and stuck to whole foods (protein, veg and fruit) at each meal and lost 20lbs in 1.5 months....really love 16:8
I’m 64 years old male and have been following the intermittent fasting for about 3 months and have gone from 184 lbs to 168 lbs. I have also changed my diet to limit sugars and added some workouts 3-4 times a week. I feel great and will continue to follow Dr. Mindy. A big thanks!
I have been doing 16/8 since late October. I do vary sometimes longer and one day a week no fast so my metabolism is not slowing down. Only oils and fats I use are olive and avocado and real butter. So far 30 lbs lost
I recently shifted from 16 to 18 hours 9a - 3p. I'm feeling SO much better by letting the meat digest before going to bed at 10. I used to finish eating at 6p and the heaviness of digesting was REAL.
My concern: Im doing 16/8.. start at 8 am to 4 pm eating window.. I feel satisfied around 2:30 pm... when gets 6 t 7 pm I start to have cravings for chese or chips.. What Im doing wrong?
@@DrMindyPelzDr. Pelz, I thank you so much for all this information but I am struggling. I am a mess...a total mess I need help! I am spiraling. I live in a 3rd world country and it's so difficult. I am mentally loosing it. Help me with my health and fasting. Thanks.
I’m 41 I started following your channel and advice January 2nd 2024 I weighed 305lbs I have lost 26lbs doing 16:8 and some longer fast I just want to thank you for sharing your knowledge 🤩
I don't weigh myself ever, but use my clothes as an indicator. So I don't know how much weight I lost, but I lost 2 dress sizes ( even though these days dress sizes are bonkers, lol) Bottom line, at almost 58 I feel fabulous and energized!I have always been a very irregular eater and never, ever ate breakfast. So IF comes relatively easily to me. My downfall were always the evenings. Snacking, nibbling and boredom made me eat all kinds of crap. I throw in a 36 to 42 hour fast once or twice a week * so basically skip a whole day of eating) and it works fabulously. The thing that really gobsmacked me, is the total lack of appetite in the evening and no more compulsive eating at that time. It is as if someone has swiched something off in my brain! And the best thing about fasting is, that you can adapt it to your lifestyle. I don't restrict myself ever. I don't call anything "cheat" meal, or drink, because psychologically that would mess with my brain, lol I eat what I feel like eating ( including cheese etc)and drink wine when I feel like it (I live in France, lol) So a huge thank you, Dr. Mindy for everything you do. 😊
Thank you for helping me change my life. For years I was asking my doctors to help me loose the weight so my body doesn’t pain . I just got lots of pain killers and increased my high blood pressure. I have tried keto but didn’t really know the right steps with keto. Fast like a girl opened my eyes and I started practicing. When I went to my doctor for prescription pills she made me go on the scale because she recognized I had lost some weight. I was so happy something is working. I have shared your videos with my chiropractor and her secretary so we started a fasting group. I am weak when I get stressed because I just want to eat junk to feel good. Now I understand sugar is like a drug. I continue to learn.
Congratulations on taking your power back and healing yourself. Always remember that it's you who choose this amazing path to improve your health. Keep going and know that you have a miraculous BODY. 🤗💗🙌
I have been IF for 6 weeks one meal a day on carnivore I have lost 26 pounds I watch your videos every day, and want to thankyou For you teaching me how to fast I’m 59 year old male living in London
Your videos have changed my life. I’m 48 and nenopaused. I had huge anxiety and brain fogging. I have suffered too much on account of it. I have been fasting 36 hrs once every two months and 24 hrs every two weeks since 3 months and I feel great. I feel super energetic, I have no anxiety (even during stressful situations) , no brain fogging. Digestion has become a lot better. I feel so so good. Cant thankyou enough. So grateful
Hi Mindy, You have helped me and my husband so much. He did 16:8 carnivore and lost 70 pounds in 4 mounths 270 to 200. I did 16:8 and just eat cleaner and lost 25 pounds/ 160 to135
@@DrMindyPelz Hello, I have a question on ADF. How long can it be done? I’m 2 months in and just taking this week off. Should I start back on ADF or go back to varying my fasts? I have about 5 -8 more pounds that I want to lose. 45 pounds down so far.
I had very high blood pressure doctors wanted me on medication. I tried 3 different meds each with horrible side effects. So bad I was on the toilet white as a ghost feeling like I was going to pass out, shaking , cold, and having horrific pain in my bowels. When I told my doctor this she didn't believe it was the medication. Oddly when I stopped taking it none of those symptoms came back. I stopped going to this doctor feeling if she wasn't going to listen to me then she wasn't the doctor for me. I hate medication anyways and have always been into holistic healing. This is when I started learning about intermittent dieting and decided this was worth a try. On top of that I went for walks 2-3 times a week. In less than a year my blood pressure was at a healthy reading and I lost 24 lbs. I am 70 yrs old and I feel fantastic. True believer in walking and intermittent dieting to heal the body. My window is usually 5 hrs. I might eat at 2 or 3 pm and stop at 7 or 8 that evening since my husband gets home around 6 ish.
Your experience underscores the importance of listening to your body and exploring holistic approaches like intermittent fasting and regular walks, which have significantly improved your health and well-being without relying on medications.
I have lost and kept off my 60 lbs and no more medication for high blood pressure ore acid reflux absolutely no stomach problems and I can eat spicy foods again I feel like a new person and I can literally run with my Labrador on 6 mile walks and runs!! Thank you for this amazing life changing experience 😊❤️❤️
That's amazing! Congratulations! You're doing amazing for taking control of your health and healing. Keep going and know that you're living in a miraculous BODY. 💗👏👏

I have done 16/8 on and off over the last year. I am down 112 pounds. I am working on becoming healthier. I am almost 65...feeling 45!!! You can do it.
Before the world of Dr Mindy Pelz, i started fasting and did 16:8. Only diet change was less to no sugar. Bit of exercise in the morning and i lost a pants size!!!!!
I began intermittent fasting in March 2022 and it has been my lifestyle ever since then! I am 68 yrs old, I lost 25 lbs and my gut issues are healed! Before I began intermittent fasting I could not eat gluten without getting sick for days! Now there is no issues! I started with 16/8 and coupled it with low carb. I now do 17 - 20 hours of fasting.

I'm 53 post cancer/hysterectomy. I have been doing 5 days of 17:7 , one 24 hour fast, and one day not fasting. for 3 weeks (tracking everything on a spreadsheet). I overhauled a huge part of my diet (from drinking my calories to 99.5% water. Breaking fasts with protein. I feel so good! Still not losing much weight just went on my first 36 hour fast. Really hoping to get my body to start making the "switch" to fat burning. Promised myself 12 weeks of this as an alternative to gastric sleeve surgery (they cut out 2/3 of your stomach!). Could use any more info! You are spot on when you say, the body is miraculously made to heal itself. I also appreciate your appreciation for scientific fact!🎉
So, I originally started following Dr. Berg and then found Dr.Mindy. I am perimenopausal 47 years old and do not have any symptoms, besides night sweats and prior to my period a bit catty. I have been fasting on Keto for over four months. I have lost thirteen pounds of fat. I saw my waist line first. I lift, and changed my work outs from 45m to 10-15m four days a week on HIT training only. Her, fasting 16;8 is what I do now. I believe mine is normally 18:6 and i like the shorter window no snacking, adding a daily salad. Following Dr.Mindy, I learned to change my times. Thank you. I can’t wait to read, “Fast Like A Girl.” Dr. Mindy, I am forever grateful for your research and I hope you have a sit down with Dr.Berg who is also on your wavelength. Thank you so much.
I am 53, 5'1" and peri menopausal. For the past year, I felt sluggish, tired, anxious, bloated, retained water like crazy, and just kept gaining weight. I came across Dr. Mindy's fasting videos and bought two of her books to figure out how to improve my health since my doctor could not improve my quality of life. I started to skip breakfast again, bought the Keto Mojo monitor, and measured my glucose and ketones like she recommends her patients do. At first, my body was not producing any ketones. So, I stopped having alcohol (bye =( wine) and no sugary things. I struggled for two and a half weeks for my body to produce ketones doing 16:8. Until I did a 24 fast this past Tuesday and Wednesday, finally the reading was 0.5. I was so happy and it has been going up 0.1 points and I have now lost 6 pounds. Doing 16:8 and 17:7. This might not seem like much but it is huge for me. I am feeling better and can't wait to hit my goals. Feeling motivated to continue the journey. Thank you, Dr. Mindy!!! =)
I happened to stumble upon this goldmine perhaps it was when you had partnered with Dr Fung or Mark Hyman but i loved your effervescence and I couldnt get enough. I was diagnosed with RA in February 2024 and so I cannot run as rigorously as I used to because of chronic pain. Can you imagine also being placed on steroids? Just an entire recipe for weight gain..did I mention that I am 56 years old now. I am eternally grateful for your podcast because its SPECIFIC to my age group and yes my results are good because my counts have been down and I am slowly but surely losing weight. I will definitely keep you posted.
I started intermittent fasting on 10th September 2024. Weighing 106kgs.. already lost 2 kgs following 16:8 method in 2 weeks time. This was fast+ diet+ exercise 4 to 5 days a week. My goal is to reduce considerable amount of weight by November. Will give an update on 29th November which is my birthday 🎂 Thankyou Universe ❤Thankyou God. Thankyou for bringing this positive change in my life.❤
I have been on IF 16/8 for two months now after watching your UA-cam channe.I have been losing weight since I started on it. I love it and bought 'Fasting like a girl '. 😊
Fast like a girl changed my life and I’ve learnt a lot. When I saw the post on the journal I had to pre order on Amazon which hopefully arrives next week and I’m REALLY looking forward to it. I have to thank you because I’ve really felt like I was on this journey with you and I had your support along the way with your UA-cam videos/book. You’re a big part of my success so thank you ❤️
65, newly retired from a high stress job and getting myself moved south, a step at a time. 5'4" and 254 lbs post hysterectomy. Down 8 lbs in 8 days by doing 20/4. My doctor is thrilled and supportive. Will see him Weds to make sure my iron hasn't dipped. Hoping my low carb diet will help with that! I've been binge watching Dr Mindy vids as I pack boxes for donation and moving. It keeps me motivated!
Fantastic progress with the 20/4 fasting and your weight loss journey! It's great to hear that your doctor is supportive, and keeping an eye on your iron levels is smart. Watching my videos for motivation while you pack is a wonderful way to stay inspired. Keep up the amazing work!
I have been intermittent fasting since 2020. I started very slowly. I ended up doing 16:8 for several months. I did well with that. I ended up transitioning to OMAD. That ended up working even better for me. The problem was I didn’t stick with it. I gained a bunch of weight back. ( not all, luckily) But, I’m now back on track~starting Feb 1 I do OMAD on my work days(three 12s a week) and on my days off, I do longer fasts. I’ve already lost about 20 pounds. I think the most important thing is every person needs to find what fasting style works best for them. Everyone’s body is different! Thanks for another great video!
This happened to me I lost 30 lbs fasting but I have gained it back plus more, now I don’t know which fast to choose. I just can’t seem to get going again. Everyday I start with good intentions but when my eating window opens I can’t stop!
@@antoinettefrancis5036 Why don’t you start by cutting out the junk and focusing on healthier foods (assuming you eat junk) then when you get used to that, focus on that and eating three meals a day and nothing after dinner, then when you get used to that, keep doing those things, but push your breakfast back an hour at a time ( that’s how I originally started) Good Luck 👍 😎
I’m 55 and I have almost 2 yrs.of fasting and went down 65 lbs. And not planning to go back to 237 lbs. I stay away from sugar, bad carbs, and packaged products and increase my protein ❤
I'm on day 8, doing 12pm-6pm. Didn't weigh myself, but my clothes feel a bit looser already. Felt sick and tired the first few days, but feel good now. Really enjoying my food and coffee with double cream is delicious, not missing the sugar now. Missing good bread but, I'm determined to get that summer body so no, not eating it!!!
@@natsR87 No, coffee with cream in my eating window. Eating meats, eggs, cheese, vegetables, Greek yogurt and berries. Some days 18 hour fasts, others 20 hours. I can't drink black coffee, tried it the first two mornings, so waiting until my eating window for my coffee, that's the only downside. 😐
I wait until my eating window to have my coffee too. When I wake up I either drink a big cup of water or have some green tea! I have tested my blood sugar after coffee+halfnhalf+1/2 tsp stevia and it doesn’t raise my glucose but I just don’t want to chance it!
That's fantastic progress! Feeling looser in your clothes is a great sign, and it's common to feel adjustments in the first few days. It's great to hear you're enjoying your food and finding delicious alternatives. Stay determined, and keep up the great work on your fasting journey!
I’ve lost 23 lbs in 5.5 months and still eat quite well. I now do 18/6 and sometimes 19/5. It’s been the easiest thing I’ve ever done and I’m going to eat this way forever. I’m in my late 50’s and feel just as good as I did at 25.
@@KimSluyk I usually do 18/6 or 19/5. Thanks! At first I started 16/8. I noticed I had to make sure I eat plenty of protein with my breakfast, as well as all meals. I also try to make sure to have vegetables with every dinner. It’s the easiest thing I’ve ever done!
@@KimSluyk Gotcha! I can’t do keto because I have no gallbladder and my liver hates too much fat. Been there, done that, it doesn’t agree with me. I don’t follow any diet. I eat sensibly. My first meal is usually unsweetened oatmeal with blueberries and strawberries, and almond milk, a green banana, and an egg or plain Greek yogurt, depending on the day. Snacks are usually a fruit or piece of cheese, or nuts, if I snack at all. I pretty much eat what I want, within reason. I still have bread (sourdough only) sometimes later in the day, and pasta. I eat potatoes often too. Recently, I eliminated potato chips and desserts, but will have some on some occasions. I don’t over eat and just use common sense. Some foods are bad and I stay away. I make sure to get plenty of protein and veggies to stay full. Now, for me, cream in my coffee breaks my fast so I now drink it in my eating window in the afternoon and will have black earl grey tea in the morning instead. I can’t do black coffee. For a while, I was stuffing myself trying to fit in as much food as possible in my eating window, and that doesn’t work. Instead, I eat less carbs and more protein, and I’m not as hungry and don’t need as much food. Best of luck to you with finding what works for you! I can say this has changed my life and health for the best.
Intermittent fasting 16:8 has been easy for me. And has been extremely great for my weight loss journey. Thanks for all that you share to the world. God bless you.
I’ve lost 3 stone in 6 months with fasting. I started off just doing 16:8 fasting and I loved it, I cut out all the bad ingredients then my weight loss slowed down at 2 stone so I started adding a few 24 hour or 36 hour fasting in at the right time to give me a boost and I lost another stone. I’ve got 1 more stone to lose and I’m carrying on with fasting I love it. I don’t feel like I’m on a diet at all. The longer you do it the easier it gets. Thank you Mindy for all your information for helping me get this far
My story is a little different here. I do 16:8 to gain weight (low bmi close to 16). My doc told me to have 8 meals per day, which gave me constant heart burn and made me at low energy all the time. 16:8 helps me to control my GERD, helps me take in nutritions better, and with resistance training, I finally started to gain weight, and that is healthy muscle weight 😊
I am 53 years old. I am a postman and go to gym 3 times a week. I tried all kinds of ways to lose weight and just kept putting it back on. So, over the last 7 weeks, I decided to start healthy eating, droping the refined carbs, and then progressed to IF, originally from watching Dr Sten Ekberg. So, started at 17st 2lbs and in 7 weeks I am 15st 1lb. I realise its mostly water, but I feel absolutely amazing. I have now found Mindy and am now learning about our beautiful ladies and what they go through x❤
I actually love the 16-8 type of fasting! It works for my life style and it has been a game changer for my high blood pressure. Some times I can go longer depending on what my schedule looks like. Thanks DR Mindy your a lifesaver!😊
We do the 16x8, it’s amazing. I am 69, and work out 4 times per week. 225lb now 207Lb. Heading for 205 lb. It’s easy, you can eat what you want but you soon go off some harmful food. It’s now my life style. So many benefits. Of blood pressure meds, so great. Highly recommend.
When I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I suggested going the route of diet I was shot down in flames and put on pills. Having done research for myself over time I ditched the pills and started changing my diet and went from 85kg down to 64kg over a period of time. I am 78 years od age and still learning and thank you for these educational talks.

Hi, I'm a 60 year old woman. Bought your book, Fast like a girl , on May 20,2024. Started advanced fasting while reading the book. I am down 20 lbs. My A1C is down to 6.5 from 7. Using CGM, results show significant decrease in glucose. Also noticed sugar spickes less frequent and recover much more quickly. Insulin resistance improving. Mental clarity and feel happer. Previously, I was eating a bodybuilder diet and weight training with a pro. 4 to 5 days a week for 2 yrs. Weight loss stoped at 10 lbs. I knew there was a better more effective way. So grateful I saw your interview on Diary of a CEO. Thank you ❤ , your a life saver. Will update my status as I go. Hopefully I can inspire others as well. 🎉
I'm extremely new to fasting only having started on the 1st of July, but I've already lost 11 pounds in 15 days on a 16/8 cycle. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Hey Doc M. I started on the 16:8 fasting lifestyle in July after I fell and broke my hip. Since I was sedentary, I ate only WFPB, plus scrambled eggs with cheese on the weekend. I was only eating twice a day between 11am and 7pm. I feel fantastic! No more processed foods, white starches, sugars, soda, or bad oils. My clothes are falling off! It's exciting. Now, the key is to be consistent, but hey, it's October and I'm still going strong. I'm 73 years old, have always been obese and I have 50 pounds to lose. Glad to join your community. Thanks for the clear info, Eleanor
Hi, I always struggling with the diet, but this the only thing work for me, I loose 25 pounds plus in 3 months just doing fasting and eat only between 8 to 5, is best thing that happen to me, no diet, just fasting!!!! Love it, love Dr.Mindy🎉
Hi Mindy, I started IF 18/6 4 years ago along with cold showers and Wim Hoff breathing. I love it. My body slowly changed over a year and is now amazing. IF suits my body, I feel great and I am so surprised at the change in my body and general well-being. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I had young onset hypertension , have been taking 3 tablets from last 12 yes , recently diagnosed prediabetes Started IF 16:8 15 days back with cardio , and low carb A1c is now in normal range , and on 2 tablets for bp , lost 6% weight From IND
I merged fasting with calorie counting. I’ve lost 10kgs in 5 weeks. I went from 2 hours of gym, 6 times a week, losing nothing to fasting 16-23 hours every day, OMAD, and 800 calories… minimal exercise (walking and Pilates occasionally) and my life has changed. I finally have a healthy relationship with food; I can have a cookie, some chips, serving of pasta, chocolate… I just have to fit it in my 800 calorie intake. Sometimes I stray and have 1000-1200 calories a day. It’s been amazing. I love counting calories and knowing what’s going into my body. Get onto this! Update: down 15kgs! Usually doing 20 hour fasts, OMAD, and an occasional 36 hour fast.
A few years ago, I started keto, and because of my busy lifestyle, I unknowingly was doing a 16/8 fast. Within a couple of months, I had lost 22 pounds. It was insane. I came across your videos again, and I started watching all of them, including your interviews on Diary of a CEO and Impact Theory - and now I understand why. Recently went through a divorce and gained 60 lbs on a year’s time, just going through menopause and not caring anymore what I ate or when. So, it’s back to square one. But I have the tools I need, and I am excited. THANK YOU for sharing everything you share. Just ordered Fast Like a Girl, and it comes tomorrow! 😃

I can fast 20 hrs. Easy bit. But eat all my calories in 4 hr window - hardest!! I train regularly and doing this as last push to lose that last big of 10lbs fat…. Week 3 and 2 lbs down. Happy with it so far.
I was 16 8, went to Ketovore was always full ,so went 20/4, it works, but it did slow my motabalisun, I have some bowel issues, but I lost 44 lbs, off insulin, I wish I could digest a bit better,,oval all was worth it
I was pre-diabetic, 70 lbs overweight, exhausted single mom of 3, and desperate for a quick fix for weight loss. Bennie Pham in Boise, Idaho, USA told me that she would help me lose weight, and said my first step was to watch Dr. Fung’s videos. I did, and I’ve been hooked ever since! I lost 30 lbs in the first three months going between 16:8 and 22:4. I’ve had to pause for pregnancy and breastfeeding, and it’s tough to get started again, but I love the IF lifestyle! Began again a couple of months ago (just started restricting my time-working to get better about good foods) and have lost 10 lbs.
I keep myself busy during the day drinking water and organic black coffee. Really embracing the eating window. Feel and look better. Thank you Mindy. ❤
On march 18,2024 I was 230 high cholesterol, my A1C was 6.6 high blood pressure and I’m only 36. Today 4/12/24 I’m 208 and I’m getting my blood checked next week to see the results
I am a 42 yr old Man and I have been doing IF off and on for a few years now.. but for the past 4 months I have been doing 23-1 OMAD I have went from 260lbs down to 228lbs but seem to have hit a plateau.. I’m going to throw a few 48-72 hr fasts in to boost it.. My wife has been having medical issues and specifically wants to focus on brain health for depression and stress which seems to be the core issue of many other issues she is having over the past year.. she is also 42yrs old. I have been sending her these videos and she has officially started her journey as of yesterday and she went 21 hours with only water! Then we had an inflammatory based soup for dinner. Today is day 2 we are very hopeful that this works for her as nothing else seems to be helping. She has an appointment with a neurologist in a few weeks and I’m hoping to see some actual results from her last visit
Dr. Mindy other than the videos are so informative, I watch these videos to keep me focused and going. Like a support group! Thank you for the videos! 18/6-carnivore-36 weekly. 75lbs crazy energy levels several ailments eliminated!
As for me here, i have fasting 20 to 23 hrs for the past 4 months. Am now on my desired weight goal. I just wanna do 16/8 to maintain. But not to loose any further.. I think it also works for me. Because i don't want to go back to grazing. Am going with this approach.
I am 55 and struggled with my weight going through the menopause, putting on 10kgs in the last 2 years. Nothing worked to shift this. I started IF 3 weeks ago starting at 20:4 and so far so good and have lost 2kgs. Absolutely loving how this is making me feel and so glad to feel the weight starting to come off. Thank you for your inspiration and videos. I’m sharing with all my friends who are struggling going through this life change😊
That's amazing! Congratulations! You're doing amazing for taking control of your health and healing. Keep going and know that you're living in a miraculous BODY. 💗🙌
Hi Mindy - I'm from the UK and I started 16:8 fasting three weeks ago after seeing your video with Steven Bartlett on DOAC. I decided to go in hard with a 24 hour fast to begin (as you do!) and when that was successful, I knew I had the willpower I needed to manage 16:8! I usually fast from 7pm til 12pm (so I'm actually doing a 17:7!) each day, though I've tried mixing it up with different timings and a couple of 20 hour fasts. Just water and black unsweetened freshly hand-ground decaf coffee during the fasting windows. I've also radically changed my diet and am now primarily eating eggs, fruit, meat, fish and nuts. So far, according to the scale, I have lost 8lbs in the last 16 days! I have never seen results like that with conventional 'dieting'. What's more, I feel better than ever - not deprived at all, never desperately hungry and my mood, physical energy and mental clarity are better than they have been in a long time. To add context to the above, I started at the beginning of June at 250lbs, BMI over 36 and with recent issues with depression and anxiety.
@@shamsjacobs4771 It brings me great happiness to know that I am giving you hope! ☺ Don't give up! I know myself from years of experience how deflating and impossible a task weight loss always seems to be but always remember that you have all the power within you to do it! Your body already knows what it needs to do, it's just your brain has conditioned itself to think otherwise! Exercise your brain with lots of healthy, nutritious whole food and it will soon change its tune! And always remember, Rome wasn't built in a day. Even if you are only able to make one small change today, that small ripple you have created will eventually become a tide! ☺ Good luck!
I’m 61 I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for over 1 year. I went from 173 lbs to 139 lbs. my glucose level was over 110 now it’s under 90 and feeling great 😊
My introduction to fasting was a hospital emergency room visit due to a reaction to steroids prescription for a nasty throat infection. My blood sugar was 400. It put me in a diabetic state and of course the hospital sent me home with insulin with the notion that I would forever be a diabetic. I'm petrified of needles and the thought of having to inject myself for the rest of my life nearly did me in. I spent hours every day going through UA-cam videos and came across various channels that advocated fasting for insulin resistance. I jumped on that right away! I kept testing myself and I no longer take insulin and my blood sugar is normally at 99-100. Only my podiatrist advocate and guided me toward fasting. The medical professionals are so behind any research or they are beholden to the pharmaceutical companies.
Thank you for everything you do Dr. Mindy! I've been IF since February and lost 25 lbs. My question is- I see all these Instagram fitness coaches really hating on intermittent fasting complaining that it's starving your body and basically decreasing your calories. They also keep pushing calories in/calories out claiming it's scientifically proven for people to lose weight. I've done Calories in/out and the moment I eat too much I gain weight. I haven't seen this happen with IF. I'm just confused when I see these Instagramers hating on IF so much that a part of me makes me think... huh? Is IF really just decreasing your calories? So is there some truth to calories in/out?
it’s gotta be calories in and out and the type of food because i can eat a lot of calories like chipotle or chicken fried rice. I work too many hours i don’t have time for making meals. But i thought with intermittent fasting you didn’t have to change your diet. I’ve been intermittent fasting 20:4 since feb and i’ve been stuck fluctuating at 195-200. I just feel like if you still gotta change your diet i feel like you should just do keto and stop fasting
Congratulations on your weight loss success with intermittent fasting! While calories in/calories out is a principle in weight management, the timing and quality of your meals matter too. Intermittent fasting can help regulate hormones and improve metabolic flexibility beyond just calorie restriction. It's essential to find what works best for your body and lifestyle. Keep up the great work!
To each his/her own. But I get suspicious when someone on line tries to control you with fear and demands you eat more! What's their agenda? I've been doing intermittent fasting for 6 months and have lost 35 lbs. I feel good and my doctor is happy with my lowered b.p. and cholesterol etc. I read in the business section that ConAgra is not happy because consumers are purchasing much less of their snack foods. Whether this is because the public is wising up to how bad these items are for your health or how outrageously expensive they've become, I don't know. I do know my grocery bill is about half of what it was before I began intermittent fasting. Mostly because I'm eating so much less carbs. I still have a treat occasionally after a meal. But a few bites fill me up and no crazy cravings.
I’m 42. Week 10 of IF and keto. One 72 hour fast in between. Only walking. 12.7kg down so far. IF is amazing and so far the 72 hour fast seems to have cleared my IBS. So happy
I love all your videos, I’ve learned so much Thank you. I’m also obsessed with all your Tops. Can you please mention in your notes what you’re wearing and where we can find them. 😊
I’m 50, have Crohns, T2D, BP and Obesity/FL. Started on keto 3 months ago. Was losing inches but not weight on the scales until I got into the IF. Did 2 weeks of IF 2 x a week and 2 weeks of IF 3 x a week to break myself into it. Have swapped ratios gradually. (12:12, 16:8, now on 18:6) Keto alone had my BS go from 28 to an average of 6. (Australian measurement) Only early days but can already see results with my complexion, clothes and having to slide my car seat forward because my stomach was no longer touching the steering wheel. This is no longer a diet for me, it’s MY lifestyle. Was tested yesterday with my first outing. I stuck to it by eating the contents of the sandwiches. (meat, salad) I found a way to make it work, instead of making excuses. Thank you Dr Mindy🙏🏻😘
I’m 56 post menopausal and I’ve been doing 16:8 with some variation of extend fasts and I’m down 27 pounds and have been doing it for 7 months. It’s the best lifestyle for me! I started at 165 and am down to 138. I’m 5’-2”. 😊
💙🙌
I fast from 3 pm til 8 am Monday thru Friday .
Very inspiring ! ❤
Soon to be 60 and I feel better than I did at 20!❤
So awesome 🙌 thank you for sharing your journey! 💙

Thank you.
Thanks for watching and sharing your success with me! 🙌
Wow congratulations!! And it only gets better, your whole life will change!! Well done!!
Thats amazing...keep up the brilliant work! 🫠

For me, the fasting part is easier than the eating part.
I jave this problem now... because when its time to break fast im like what do i eat urg
💙🙌
kimchi , sauerkraught, bone broth and protein. Ease back into eating because You haven't eaten for 24 hrs. Lower carbs on that day. Next day also don't over eat. That info is in some of her videos and podcast
@lorrainestokes336 yes I ate that exact food in a different order but that's my day 1 refeed. Bone broth, kimchi, sauerkraut olives then eggs.
Me too
I'm a 64 year old woman from the UK. I was totally fed up being overweight, feeling unhealthy. A lifetime of yo yo dieting since my mid twenties always ended up with me putting the weight back on with interest. Now I have hope. I've dropped 33 pounds since last October thanks to intermittent fasting. I currently do 18/6 but will try 16/8 once I stabilise at my desired weight once I lose another 24 pounds
I am confident I will get there
It has been so easy, I don't feel humgry and enjoy my food more than I ever have. Try it. You will not regret it.😀🇬🇧❤️
How's it going? I'm in the UK, South coast and want to try this. I'm 55 and have put on menopause weight. Any more tips? Wishing you all the best
Mindy.

Thank you for posting your comment it is very encouraging to see the method works for people in our age group. Congratulations on your success 🎊
What did you eat though?
Did you eat for certain length in between those fasts?
I have been trying to lose weight for so long incorporating fasting but so far not much success. I am just wondering what is it that you all brilliant women do that I don’t 😢
Since I started IF (12pm-6:30pm) and changed my diet to Keto, I lost 13 pounds and feel fantastic. I still “cheat” sometimes in my fasting window (a glass of red wine 1x/week) I have Lots of energy and mind clarity which motivated me to get back to the gym. I’m 54 and in perimenopause so this was life changing for me.
Thank you for your honesty 🙏🏾🙌🏽
With the 10am to 6pm eating window, I lost 7.8% of my body weight 🙏 and could not believe it! I'm 56 yrs old now and have always been a health advocate but no matter what I did...was stuck on a weight plateau...BUT just within a period of 3 months of following Dr. Mindy's IF advice and eating nutritionally-dense food, I have now reached my ideal weight which I haven't even achieved for the past 3 decades!!! Tremendously grateful and could not thank you enough❣️❣️❣️

I don't call anything "cheat" meal, or drink, because psychologically that would mess with my brain, lol
I eat what I feel like eating ( including cheese etc)and drink wine when I feel like it (I live in France, lol)
So a huge thank you, Dr.

@@DrMindyPelz Hello, I have a question on ADF. How long can it be done? I’m 2 months in and just taking this week off. Should I start back on ADF or go back to varying my fasts? I have about 5 -8 more pounds that I want to lose.
45 pounds down so far.
hi Mindy, I have lost 34kg in 6 months with intermittent fasting. I love your videos! thank you
Hey, congratulations. Please advise what you ate? Please please ❤
I do 12pm - 8pm. It works great! ❤
When I do a 16:8 I also do the 12 to 8. Other don't fit well into my daily life.
I do these hours too! Works very well and very doable.

Before the world of Dr Mindy Pelz, i started fasting and did 16:8. Only diet change was less to no sugar. Bit of exercise in the morning and i lost a pants size!!!!!
🙌
I do the 16:8 started in January this year and am down 28lbs.
Amazing!! Way to go!

Just broke my 3.5 day fast! Watching this video to remind me of the benefits and not stuff my face later in the day 😂 good luck- you've got this!
IF changed my life. Changing my diet too. Now in maintenance weight, doing 16:8, 17:7 and occasional 36 hour fasts.
🙌🔥 Congratulations!! Doesn't it feel amazing to be the decision maker of your own health. 💙
Thank you. I can’t wait to read, “Fast Like A Girl.”
Dr. Mindy, I am forever grateful for your research and I hope you have a sit down with Dr.Berg who is also on your wavelength.
Thank you so much.
Congratulations!! Fantastic! 🎉🙌 💙
I love Dr. Berg!!! I also found him first. We hit the jackpot with the wisdom from Dr. Berg and Dr. Mindy. ❤
Mindy!!! =)
I'm 5'8" and went from 129 to 123 with daily 18:6 and 20:4 on Sundays. Tysm, Dr. Mindy!
You took the steps and made the changes. You're a powerhouse! 🙌🎉🎉
I’m a 48 year old woman, and I’ve lost 45 pounds in 7 months using intermittent fasting and healthy keto. This stuff works!!
Will give an update on 29th November which is my birthday 🎂
Thankyou Universe ❤Thankyou God. Thankyou for bringing this positive change in my life.❤

I compressed it to 2 hours and feel great trying to lose weight and be overall more healthy.
@@antoinettefrancis5036
Why don’t you start by cutting out the junk and focusing on healthier foods (assuming you eat junk) then when you get used to that, focus on that and eating three meals a day and nothing after dinner, then when you get used to that, keep doing those things, but push your breakfast back an hour at a time
( that’s how I originally started)
Good Luck 👍 😎
I’m 55 and I have almost 2 yrs.of fasting and went down 65 lbs.
And not planning to go back to 237 lbs.
I stay away from sugar, bad carbs, and packaged products and increase my protein ❤
Fantastic! Keep on going! 💪🤗
Coffee with double cream in the fasting window? Doesn't that break your fast?
@@natsR87 No, coffee with cream in my eating window. Eating meats, eggs, cheese, vegetables, Greek yogurt and berries. Some days 18 hour fasts, others 20 hours. I can't drink black coffee, tried it the first two mornings, so waiting until my eating window for my coffee, that's the only downside. 😐
@MangeTout-fv8sj ah ok. I drink the black coffee, it took me about 2 weeks to get use to it. Its really not bad now at all
I wait until my eating window to have my coffee too.
Thanks for watching and sharing your success! 😃
congrats! what eating style do you follow?
@@KimSluyk I usually do 18/6 or 19/5. Thanks! At first I started 16/8. I noticed I had to make sure I eat plenty of protein with my breakfast, as well as all meals. I also try to make sure to have vegetables with every dinner. It’s the easiest thing I’ve ever done!
@@CaroleRodrigue thx! what style meaning keto, low carb, etc? what hours do you fast?
You dear lady are our hero❤. Thanking you from every bit of my being.
🙏💙
My story is a little different here. I do 16:8 to gain weight (low bmi close to 16). My doc told me to have 8 meals per day, which gave me constant heart burn and made me at low energy all the time. 16:8 helps me to control my GERD, helps me take in nutritions better, and with resistance training, I finally started to gain weight, and that is healthy muscle weight 😊
Thanks for watching and sharing with me! 😃

I am a postman and go to gym 3 times a week.
I tried all kinds of ways to lose weight and just kept putting it back on.

So grateful I saw your interview on Diary of a CEO. Thank you ❤ , your a life saver. Will update my status as I go. Hopefully I can inspire others as well. 🎉

I love dr Mindy she changed my life. I have lost 20lbs so far. I would love to loose 10lbs . I would love to be in your academy class

💪

On march 18,2024 I was 230 high cholesterol, my A1C was 6.6 high blood pressure and I’m only 36. Today 4/12/24 I’m 208 and I’m getting my blood checked next week to see the results
That’s quite an accomplishment, and you should be proud. It’s not easy at times, but so worth the healthy gains:)
My A1C is now 5.5.

Way to go! Congratulations on your awesome fasting achievements! Keep on going! 👏👏🎉
Thnx. You give me hope. I'm currently at 229lbs and feeling hopeless.

I went from 173 lbs to 139 lbs. my glucose level was over 110 now it’s under 90 and feeling great 😊
I love to research all stuff !,people & things😊I always come back to you Dr.Mindy your the best ! You really care about everyone ❤love you Dr.Mindy 🎉
Something I once read: If it’s working for you, stop reading. ❤
IF is more than just losing weight...it is healing systems in your body
I’m 42. Week 10 of IF and keto. One 72 hour fast in between. Only walking. 12.7kg down so far. IF is amazing and so far the 72 hour fast seems to have cleared my IBS. So happy
Congratulations!! 👏🎉
Thanks for watching and sharing your success with me! 🙌
