Beautiful work and interesting video too! The 20s and 30s music in the background was great with the work. I'm subscribing for sure. I want to see more like this.
Well-done!...a complete transformation from tired old thing to bouncy baby boomer...the fabric, surprisingly, is exactly right...others would have used a geometric idea...too obvious...thank you...dgp/uk
I'll tell you dude, I finally broke down a couple years ago and bought a Festool sander with the dust collector. Worth every single penny. It's genuinely magical. Don't let anyone tell you that it isn't worth it.
@@ArtDecoFurniture The ETS 125 or 150 100% I've used many sanders and it's by far the best. The sander and extractor are the only Festool tools I own. Do yourself the favor of factoring in the cost for full boxes of discs. They are expensive, but they go the distance. I haven't had to buy a new box of discs since I bought the first batch. I find that the discs go much much further than conventional orbital discs. Good luck!
New to the channel from getting this in my recommended, DEEEEEEEEFinitely gonna be subscribing the work here both on the piece and the editing for the video is INSANELY great!!!! Keep up the great work :D
You've just gained another subscriber! That's a gorgeous piece, really a lovely little piece of furniture now. I would have never thought of adding the fabric panels, but they really make the piece! I would have just been trying to replicate the faux veneer with real veneer, in the same pattern, but I like your treatment so much better. Some very nice touches on this piece, too: the drawer bottoms, the "gilding", and rdging it all in black just makes the rest pop. Very impressive! Also, you did a great job of explaining what youre doing, how youre doing it, and had great background music, too, balanced very well. Im very much lookingforwards to seeing more!
Your work is awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 But why decoupage that fabric onto the sides? Why not use more veneer? The decoupage works, but it seems a bit too loud/busy for the piece & seems to compete with the other gorgeous lines & features that are true to its style…just a thought 💭 💭💭
@@ArtDecoFurniture what do u think about doing a more muted or subtle fabric pieces or using actual decoupage papers? When I saw this fabric on this piece, the first thing I thought of was a black background with little gold stars on it???
Just take that bag off of the sander. I have the same one and don't bother using the bag. Hook it up to a vacuum and problem solved. That's what I should do with my new shop vac. 4:15 Fluted is with grooves and reeded would be raised like on these nightstands.
First, absolutely awesome, second I subscribed. Welcome to the world of flipping fun on you tube! My friend Owling Dog pointed me this way. With pieces like that my friend, shouldn't take you long to get subs! I think I have been doing this for 2 years and at 1.4k subs only! I just finished a piece that was so old nobody can tell me what it was used for. Your pieces are pristine, sometimes mine are. This last one went totally chippy boho. Can you tell me what type mod podge you used, Matt, gloss? Very impressive piece.
Just found you and I just subscribed. I LOVE all things art deco and these are just beautiful. I also never knew you could heat bond wood glue like that. (Does it have to be a special wood glue or will any brand work?) Keep up the awesome content and you’ll have a bunch of followers.
Great work friend just keep those video's comin and show off that excellent work, have a nice day !!! Brian UK !!!. 😀😀👍👍. And God Bless America !!!.

What a work of art! Well done, I admire your creativity. Subscribed.
Lovely work. Might gold leaf be a nice alternative to gold paint?
@@timwilkinsongs thank you! We have worked with gold leaf, but not on these Art Deco pieces. Worth considering for sure.

We do natural wood sides as well. There’s a market for both we’ve found.

Hermoso.. ❤❤❤😂
Beautiful! I think the veneer on top is actually walnut. I sell wood for a living and it doesn’t have the grain pattern oak does.

Hey, very exciting to meet fellow furniture people here! Mod Podge brand, matte finish was what we used this time. Thanks so much for the comment.
Beautiful work! So unique! Can you tell me please where I might find that lovely fabric? Thanks.

You might want to look at a silicone brush to save yourself frustration, brushes, time, and glue. Well worth the investment!! IMO
