As a monogamous person if either person isn’t enough for the other you need to vocalize that. Being cheated on is a very hurtful lesson and cheating on someone means you don’t have the emotional intelligence to consider the amount of love and trust your partner may have invested in you before causing the harm. At best, the cheated on drops you out of their life, takes the L with time wasted and chalks it up to you not being the one.

But if it's been 10+ years and kids are involved, Idk how I would react.

Plus it’s nice to have a schedule of personal goals when feeling lost and alone. It can provide structure when life feels out of control.
