      That's interesting about not being allowed single calf boxes in France. It can take a while for ideas, information and research to catch on. Each country can still set their own laws even within the EU so it will just be something that only certain countries will have. It will probably make it's way over here one day.

    Having been a senior registered nurse for humans I felt sorry for the calf having no local anaesthetic I am sure there is a reason. However after the vet squeezed all the pus out over the straw did you leave the calf there or would you get rid of the infected straw and give the calf new straw. Sorry but it’s my nurse hat on wanting everything to be clean and sterile. Plus you should wear gloves when washing the wound out as you could get bacteria into a cut in your hand or under your fingernails. It makes me shiver to think you may go off and eat something with your hands even if you have washed them beforehand!!

    • @WS-ij1fu
      @WS-ij1fu 5 років тому +1

      Do you wear gloves when wiping your arse ? His antiseptic/antibacterial handling procedure are fine, if they were not, the vets would soon instruct him otherwise.Watch his video on the vet doing a hernia repair op on one of his calves - nothing remotely like the conditions that would should apply to humans.

      I don’t feel you need to be rude in your reply to a genuine question that I asked Tom. I also was not being critical I was genuinely asking a question. Animals no matter if they are farm animals or not feel pain my concern was for the calf that’s all. As for the pus all over Toms hand that was a genuine concern for him. Also for your information I don’t get faeces on my hands (so don’t need gloves) at all I use toilet paper then wash my hands plus antiseptic gel. It’s a bit different getting pus all over your hands. Think before you make rude comments.

    • @WS-ij1fu
      @WS-ij1fu 5 років тому

      @@suegermaine3119 It wasn't a rude comment it was a genuine question.You say that you do not know why a local anaesthetic was not used in the same sentence as "Having been a senior registered nurse for humans" well you should because the same reasons apply.The pus getting on his hands ? he spends his days covered from head to toe in shite ! If you think that toilet paper is an effective barrier against fecal bacteria then you really need to learn some microbiology."It’s a bit different getting pus all over your hands"- no it is not, that's either a Staph.
