I find your enthusiasm uplifting and a great start to the day. You can even make looking at a pile of beats educational and interesting, watched twice so far. Admire the interactions with our Dad. I’ve always liked the way you start your videos Tom. It’s actually the reason I first subscribed to your channel and have been watching every video since. Don’t change the way you start them for a few that don’t know, and understand you the way your loyal subscribers do. Your cows loved the extra treat. When our dairy operation was in business I would hand feed our cattle apples when they were in season.

Tom- advice here from an ex dairy manager of 32 yrs- I fed fodder beet at my last place for 12 years. I used to, to start with put it into a 16 cubic meter sherbourne Reynolds twin blade feeder with the concentrate and a little straw to chop, which it did v well, turn off. Nxt feed, just add maize and wholecrop. I found the cows sorted and ate all the beet straight away. So tried putting everything else in the feeder then the beet, whole last and that worked really well. The beet lasted a lot longer, so timid cows, hfrs got a chance. They loved biting it, chewing and there's little chance feeding whole beet, that a large chopped piece can get stuck in a cows throat which was always a worry to me when chopping it up. Looks like your Kennan wouldn't chop them up a lot anyway if it's got a few knives missing???
Hi Tom ...We used to feed sugar beet to our cows but we pulped it first then added molasses that would mix perfectly in the Keenan ..and your Dad is correct it made some difference to the quality of milk and the quantity...the cows really produce top quality milk and we found them a lot healthier...but our wonderful government stopped farmers growing beet...plonkers...silly mistake we now import sugar...!!!!!!!....

I never understand why people pass judgement on youtubers; usually it's someone who has jealous issues. Your enthusiasm is obviously working for you 1. not only because you love it, but because 2. we love it too! Farming's your passion, forget acting your age, have fun as you can! I never understand why people pass judgement on youtubers; usually it's someone who has jealous issues. Your enthusiasm is obviously working for you 1. not only because you love it, but because 2. we love it too! Farming's your passion, forget acting your age, have fun as you can! Many of us understand how stressful farming is in the first place, you got to keep the energy going.
