I find this interesting information and admire how respectful you are of the animals. I'm retired and will never need to know what I've learned on you channel but it's fun.
Ahhh I felt bad when the cows slipped but when they got to their new area it was well worth it they looked like lambs springing about! So good to see 🐮
Can we get a drone view of the whole layout of your barns/shop/milking palour/manure pile/silage and where they are in relation to each other? The whole farm complex? With labels if possible and if not, with a voice over describing what each building/area is.
'Beefers', 'Low[e]s' (la!), and 'the calves' + any other type reared on the farm - please explain what the difference / end usage is? Also, do those calves know instinctively that they're not supposed to 'pancake' in the straw area, or, is it a 'fingers crossed' and a hope that they just don't? And if one does have a moment, how do the other calves respond to the miscreant? Love the drone footage, too! Learning loads about stuff on the farm - thanks for that! Cheers!
Calves everywhere great "problem" to have .Hope you don't cop to much of the winter weather. We are dealing with high 30's and raging bushfire's down here in Tasmania . Bit surreal for this former lancashire lad great video as always
Brilliant video Tom - as usual most informative! I have learnt so much about what’s involved with looking after cattle 🐄 I never realised it was so intense. I just thought cows lived out in the fields🤷♂️looking forward to the next instalment. 👍 great.
keep up the vlogs Tom very informertive great to see how you move/feed/take care of all your stock young and older stock!! your dad is great by the way!!! more of you and dad it looks like you both got diffrent ideas but work out the same in the long run lol.take all best wishes for the future at the pemberton farm.
That is a pretty nice setup for calves given me ideas for my heifer barn when I build one , oh we get snow and ice here snowing here today on top of the ice and snow we already have
I used to drive the milk lorries picking milk up from the farms round north east Scotland so I,m enjoying see what goes on before and after I,d done my collections
Brilliant, love watching, my family were farmers since we can trace the name back. Apart from me, although I can't get away from it, I now have some sheep of my own and slowly renting land. Slow but sure I will get there. Love cows, one day I will get there. Again great content every time.
How do you go about clean the top of your effluent tank with all that grass on it we have to keep it stirred up so no crust gets on it. Have you ever thought of a composting barn they seem an interesting option housed stock My cows are out side all year round
have you tried temping the young stock with meal or silage to entice them into the new shelter i've always found that works for me as food always makes them forget their fears with bring new cows into milking shed and calves onto concrete or new shedding and on a side note i'd love to be working on your farm as im in new zealand where its 30 degrees celsius
Another great vid Tom as for dad he always knows best like mine neither listen to me even if i'am right they're be happy in there new home mucking out shed vid please👍👍👍
Tom would you ever think about doing silage square bales? We do it and we think they don't use as much space as the round bales and you get half the amount of space back to use instead of wasting the space. Tom if you do think about it you should do the 2nd cut in them
Fresh holly with or without berries or does it matter? Do it every year but have been told only berried holly works. What's your opinion guys? Also what do you mean when you say stops licking?
What do you think of the Keenan feed wagon I use a triolet 24 cube tub mixer. I would definitely say that the tub mixers are definitely better for mixing TMR.
Really good video Tom, properly enjoyed it! Forgive my ignorance but the cattle that you’ve moved - are they for breeding/milk/beef? Keep it up. - you’re converting me from arable to livestock!
thanks for this amazing video, excited to watch. tell me if im wrong but if the cows are slipping on their poop and urine. doesnt it mean the farms needs a much better clean?
Hi Tom nice job. But that looked like a bail off hay and not straw. U should off scrapped the yard b4 u moved them. But don't no if it's same calf you see was a bit of bad foot. But just very near the end off u filming the calf's there was a black one by the one gate what sticking so u can Shut them up ether side. Just check your drone video that were i see it. But over thay ran rather well that was better job than you thought it was going to be with calf's. From Andy
Its a bit of Both Tom.. Your making great videos AND we're nice lol.. but seems there is a bit of Coughing amoungst the calves still. Glad you spotted the lame one as I think that was the one that initially fell over in the beginning of moving the calves.. So yeah would be good to see what you find with the lame one..
😂 glad to know I'm not the only one that states the obvious when it goes wrong 😂 😂 oh and if you find me asleep in that lovely deep straw bed... tea, milk and 2 sugars please at 6.30am.... good lad 😉👍

212th! GOOD AFTERNOON TOM,AND THE GINGER WARRIOR WITH A MUSTACHE! HEAD THEM UP, MOVE THEM OUT! RAWHIDE! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA ❤🎉🎉😊😊
machinery and equipment maintenance would be interesting to see. How you keep the machines going that keep the farm going
Tom would you ever think about doing silage square bales? We do it and we think they don't use as much space as the round bales and you get half the amount of space back to use instead of wasting the space. Tom if you do think about it you should do the 2nd cut in them
Rounds have more air around them. Squares can be packed tighter.
Fair enough but in my opinion round bales are heavier
I love the calf videos. Thinking of buying a few meself.
Hi tom excellent videos I watch em everyday whereabouts do you farm ?
Great video Tom. You want to hang some fresh holly branches above the pen to help reduce the ringworm.
do you find the holly stops licking too
@@gerardhealy2110 yes we found it seemed to help.
Fresh holly with or without berries or does it matter? Do it every year but have been told only berried holly works. What's your opinion guys? Also what do you mean when you say stops licking?
@@markcorr6704
Ive always used holly with berries.
with berries to help attract the bacteria
Top Job Mate. You all ready for the snow lol
Good job tom keep it up!!
What do you think of the Keenan feed wagon I use a triolet 24 cube tub mixer. I would definitely say that the tub mixers are definitely better for mixing TMR.

Yeah please bring back the Sunday videos please 😂👍nice vid also
thanks for this amazing video, excited to watch. tell me if im wrong but if the cows are slipping on their poop and urine. doesnt it mean the farms needs a much better clean?

Good utilisation of the buildings u have, be interested to see them on sawdust versus straw as always used straw an never sawdust 🤔
