Hey guys I had to repost this as the first one got removed by UA-cam! Thank you for being here and happy holidays ya filthy animals 🎅 and The Grinch, home alone 1 and 2, elf, and more holiday movies are posted uncut on patreon.com/colettecherry
I judge them by how they react to "The Emoji Movie".... I'm currently still waiting for one of these channels to react to it. Should be any day now; I just gotta feelin! 🤞🏼🙏🏼
The old people in the beginning who are getting interviewed are real people who lived and grew up in the great depression and the dust ball area, which is why they talk about dust being everywhere and the lack of food. The farming of corn is also a real thing that's happening, there are more corn plantations then regular crops.
I always like how the importance of the love speech by Brand is missed by everyone (including me the first time) until the end when Coop is in the tesseract and he realises it.
I love this movie so much, and I thought I had watched you react to this before, and I had, lol. Glad you got it reposted, and I made sure to like it again. I’m glad they’re showing this in theaters again. I saw this movie in theaters and then I knew it would be something that I might never see on the big screen again, so I went another 2x. It’s such an amazing movie and so emotional, and it makes me tear up or cry almost every time. As always, wonderful reaction.
FYI Colette: This was the first film that Matthew McConaughey did after winning the Oscar for Best Actor. He won for DALLAS BUYERS CLUB (2013), which is worth reacting to IMO (Matthew lost an insane amount of weight for that role). Jared Leto won Best Supporting Actor Oscar for the same movie too.
I loved this movie when it came out. I remember learning some of these concepts in school then never thought about them again. But I like how they illustrate accurately these concepts in a science fiction setting. Two examples: The massive tidal wave on the planet near the black hole. We, of course, have tides on earth that rise and fall. But that's just the gravitational pull of the Moon and Sun. Just not so dramatic. And the fact that the tides don't come in and out. The planet we are standing on is rotating under the bulge of water. The second is relativity. That time runs at a different rate depending on how close you are to stronger gravitational forces. A real-world application is when they launched GPS satellites. In order to calculate your position with high accuracy, time needs to be measured very accurately. The satellites in orbit have very very accurate clocks. But engineers have to account for the fact the time at sea level runs "relatively" slower then the satellite's time 20k kilometers above the surface. Because we are slightly closer to a strong gravitational body. It's not as dramatic as being near a black hole like in the movie. But it's still about 45 microseconds per day.
One really cool thing about the effects in this film is a large amount of it was done before filming with help from world renowned physicists which is not only great for the actors on set but when they ran simulations they actually broke ground on how we understand black holes. The one we see in the film is not only an artists rendition it was a scientifically backed estimation on how they would look and years later when NASA actually photographed a black hole the film was proven correct. Another fun fact the corn fields shown were real and grown specifically for the film and the production company actually made a profit on the harvest.
Yes Coll, this IS your best reaction ever, not because you were quiet, but both because of the film’s calibre, and what little you did say during it, was very smart, very insightful Outstanding Also there is NO SUCH THING as crying too much during I N T E R S T E L L A R if anything, the fault lies with some who do not cry enough
I'm a adrenaline junkie. Flown in just about everything, been in all kinds of vehicles, jumped out of planes. U have to forget... forget, about death, I'd go to space.
This movie is the 2nd debut of Timothée Chalamet and he eventually stared Call me by your name, Dune Parts One and Two, Wonka and A Complete Unknown. You should definitely react to those if you want to see his evolution.
Dune 1 was okay. Dune 2 was trash. The only good thing about that was the better technological advances in movie making. The original movie was far better at the storytelling and stuck to the book. But the hubris of these narcissistic, screen-writers today, who decided they could write it better than a #1 bestselling author, is astonishing. And disgusting.
I loooooved this movie. Saw it 4 times in theatres. Hands down my favourite movie soundtrack. It did win an Oscar for Visual Effects. Was nominated for best soundtrack and best audio mixing but didn’t win either of those
@4:14 - I've had a career in the space program, and in my early days I worked with some of the engineers who worked on the Apollo program. Anyone who says we didn't go to the Moon doesn't know what they are talking about. But we can joke about it: Stanley Kubrick was hired to direct the fake Moon landing videos. But he was such a perfectionist he had them recorded on the Moon. 🙂 @14:18 - I've worked with NASA astronauts. They were on a higher level than the rest of us. When you get 1000 *qualified* applicants for every position, you can choose the best of the best. The best I could do was work on projects and ideas so it would be more routine for my grandkids generation.

Not only is it "real" but it's the MOST SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE MOVIE EVER MADE!! People like Neil DeGrasse Tyson and other extremely well known astrophysicists have had NOTHING BUT GLOWING REVIEWS! This movie is simply a masterpiece of both cinema and science...
A great film! If you want to see two great films with Matthew McConaughey, I recommend "Sahara" a great 2005 Action/Adventure caper. McConaughey stars with Steve Zahn and Penelope Cruz. A great action flick. Finally, I recommend "We Are Marshall" a great 2006 biopic about the tragic plane crash that killed the 1970 Thundering Herd football team of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. A very well done film. McConaughey plays Coach Jack Lengyl. He stars with Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Kate Mara, Anthony Mackie, Ian McShane, David Strathairn and January Jones. A great film. Great reaction Colette!
Merry Christmas! When I watched this movie for the first time, it absolutely blew me away. I believe it is one of the best movies made of all time. Certainly in the top 10 in my opinion.
She is also with Matt Damon in, the Martian 😮😮😮 i honestly didn't think u would do this one. Irony...his opening dream sequence, is something that already happened 😮😮😮. This would for me be a top 3 Nolan film. This, Memento, and The Prestige. Him and his brother, can do no wrong...his bro usually writes the scripts! Type in here, strangers in public play Interstellar on piano!
You want your mind blown even further? Here it goes- Cooper sends the data to Murph from the tesseract (insuring she’ll fix the gravity equation and save mankind) and then dies from lack of oxygen. Everything that happens after that point in the movie happens in his brain as he’s dying. Mann foretells it when he does his little speech before he tries to kill Cooper. “What is the last thing you’ll see before you die? Your children.” 😢
Hi Colette, I had fun watching your reaction to this movie thanks for watching it and I felt your tears😢❤. I'm also sorry about you have to repost this video I hope it doesn't happen to your next video and I can't wait to see your reaction to homolone 1 and 2 and elf and the grinch.💚
@ColetteCherry you underestimate yourself. I watch a few film reactions on UA-cam, but always films I know and have enjoyed. It's refreshing to hear others' thoughts because I always pick up on something that I've overlooked or completely missed. It's always fun, yet humbling to learn from others. I, too, want to catch this in my local imax as I missed out when it was first released. 🎬
They never really explain why the world needs farmers. They aren't exactly planting corn with sticks, they have self driving combines, corn is very low manual labor. So what are all these farmers doing day-to-day?
Please watch TENET and OPPENHEIMER as well. TENET was his first collaboration with editor Jennifer Lame and composer Ludwig Göransson. TENET is in fact my favorite Nolan as audio and visual storytelling meshed together in a way that he hasn’t topped before or since, and the editor played a huge part in that.
@@Tolandruth Just because it may not have worked for you does not make it trash. If anything, I believe he got a lot better in his direction in TENET (especially of action sequences and exposition). No wasted moment (it was go-go-go from frame one), continuously keeping on your toes, and delivering exposition only when required as opposed to spoon-feeding (which was a major issue with INCEPTION), and of course the much-improved action sequences. Editing was easily that film's MVP (Jennifer Lame should have won an Oscar for that instead of OPPENHEIMER IMO).
Lol girl you are lucky I'm not 20 years younger. I was diagnosed with cancer back in August, and had surgery to remove my laryrx, so I can never speak again. Tough blow for anyone, but I was the singer in a rock band, playing all over Wisconsin. Just a hobby, but I am sure going to miss it. I first watched you playing the cowboy video game, lol.
Yup.. I'm a Top honors grad in Aviation Science/ Aero Space, Either wrong politics or doing the job according to the law, it sure didn't turn into the carrier I hoped for. Great reaction Colette, in case you're interested in another space type movie I recommend the movie "The Martian" prayers go out to your career in cinema and screenwriting I believe you can do it Happy Holidays 🎄.
Why do people find this movie so depressing? I mean it basically seems every reactor is crying during this movie. What part was so sad? It was kind of stupid in the end when Murph wakes from cryosleep to only meet her dad for five minutes while the whole movie she was angry that he left and didn’t spend time with her. She then tells him to go to Brandt (Anne Hathaway). Her whole family just gives Cooper a blank stare like they’re zombies, and no one is giving Cooper the recognition he deserves. It’s like Murph took all the credit. And what’s with giving the robot a 90% honesty setting? You need your computer to have 100% honesty. They showed there was a setting for humor. If Coop didn’t like Tars’s wisecracks he should’ve given him a 0% humor setting. People think this movie is smarter than them. But it’s not. It’s all based on junk science. Space cannot be folded. One hour on water planet does not equal 7 years in space. I now know why Spielberg bailed on this project, only to have a less smart director take over and deceive the audience into thinking they’re dumb and he’s the most intelligent scientist on the planet.
Mann sabotaged his robot to explode, if it was jacked with. Mann was right in his end goals, to make it to thr next planet, but wrong in how he went about it.

That bit about unrealized potential was extremely relatable content
"What happens now?" Best line ever!
Small detail that some might miss at the end with Brand is that she takes off her helmet meaning humans can breathe normally on that planet.
