@@orangewarm1I’m convinced y’all just hate on anything that’s well received just to be different 💀 this movie is nothing short of perfection and rotten tomatoes is known for giving great movies lower ratings than they deserve
This is one of the most emotionally powerful and emotionally draining movies I have ever experienced. When Cooper says goodbye to his daughter before he leaves it always makes me tear up, but when he sees the video messages from his children and sees how they have grown up over the past 23 years, I breakdown in tears and ugly cry just like McConaughy!
I never understood the naysayers who've always called Nolan a cold and emotionally distant filmmaker, I always just show them THIS movie as a pretty definitiv argument.
"Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it" Truly incredible. Incredible.
Watching him pretend to predict and understand the movie on "First" watch just goes to show what truly brilliant mind he has. He's so much smarter than us mere mortals.
I’ve rewatch this movie so many times. In my opinion this is Nolan’s masterpiece. I don’t think he’ll ever top this. So many memorable scenes and music.
I had no intention of sitting here and watching the entire hour. But it’s been a minute since seeing Interstellar so here I am. What a phenomenal movie. Thank God for filmmakers (& their teams) that are trying to make movies like this. It’s rare.
Hans Zimmer deserves every award there is for his movie scores. These movies don’t hit the same way without that Hans Zimmer score. Hans Zimmer score playing as humanity’s last hope fades away TARS “It’s not possible” Hans Zimmer score growing Cooper “No, it’s necessary” Hans Zimmer score playing as he saves humanity
So many memories from seeing this in theaters. I remember when they were attempting to dock with the spinning station, I caught myself wide eyed and not breathing almost the entire time.
Just wanted to express my sincere thanks to the both of you for sharing this reaction. Movies like this feel timeless, so watching your reaction helped me fall in love with the movie again. The space docking sequence, Hanz Zimmer's exceptional "organ-ic score", and the line "Because my Dad promised me" are among my favorite parts of the film. Thank you Reel Rejects for sharing this reaction!
The girl who plays young Murphy her name is Mackenzie Foy She played as I think the daughter of Bella in the twilight saga breaking Dawn part 1 an 2 and was in the conjuring 2013
As a father of a 7year old daughter, this film completely broke me from the moment McConaughey decides to do the mission. The seen of him and Murf before he leaves is one of the most impactful scenes ever.....'I love you forever' 😢❤
You notice when then tried docking on the rotating station after Mann messed it up, Cooper turned into the G force as he's the experienced pilot where Brand allowed her face and head to pull away from it causing her to lose consciousness.
As someone who has spent entire years without stepping out of my home, even with all the entertainment and good food in the world, it is very difficult to stay emotionally stable.
The interviews in the introduction are actually from a real documentary. The Dust Bowl(2012), by Ken Burns, is a docu-miniseries that recounts the Dust Bowl, in the American Midwest and parts of Canada’s Prairies, bordering the American Midwest, during the Great Depression, in the 1930s.
42:39 this part right here 😭 Jessica Chastain’s acting in this part is perfect, the pain and fear in her voice upon even considering her dad left her to die just breaks my heart everytime I see it
Fav movie of all time, always baffles me that so many people don't rank this as Nolan's best (TDK or The Prestige are arguable imo, the rest clearly isn't). The best combination of idea, visuals, but also emotion and characters, which hasn't always been his strong suit). Seeing it in IMAX again after a decade solidified it. It's crazy that it sold out everywhere for almost all screenings (here in The Netherlands as well). Seeing it for the first time was my favorite movie going experience & seeing it again was my 2nd favorite movie going experience.
Because it's very tough to follow for most people, and can feel like science mumbo jumbo... nolan makes insanely good movies and you can never really go wrong with them. I didn't like this movie for a long time, but the more I watch it, the more I love it.
Love how we are learning more and more about blackholes! Based on current knowledge, the colouring of the energy around the blackhole should be blue. I love this movie!
One of my favorite scenes from this movie is such a small moment; the smirk the Anne Hathaways character makes when Murphy says “Gravity” is what brought them to the facility. I haven’t been able to properly put in words why yet, but hopefully someone here can?
Possiblt my favourite reaction of any on the channel ever. How Coy and Tara were after the movie is how i fwlt after my 2nd watch. Not enough words to hustify its greatness. How it gets you in a deeper level than you can imagine. Loved this. Great pairing always these 2 as well.
This movie is exhausting, emotionally, mentally, physically. When I initially watched it I didn’t like the explanation of the bookcase ‘anomaly’, but over the years I’ve come to enjoy it more and more. One of my favourite Nolan movies. Great reaction. Thanks.
I watched this movie with my partner in the past year. He was suprised I hadn't seen it and was so excited to show it to me. Now I'm not a quiet person when we watch movies together, I like to joke around and Crack quips (I'm quiet in a theatre) but I think this is a movie I was just so quiet in. I sat in awe. When McConaughy is going through the years of videos his kids sent, my heart broke. I have a son. I can't imagine being so far away and being basically the same age and watching him grow up, not even being apart of it. I think we had to pause the movie because I was so gutted. Thinking about that scene just gives me a pit in my gut. Such a beautiful movie. And the message about love. Ahhhh I'm crying! And I barely got to that moment in the reaction. What a way to start my day 😅 😭 Does encourage me to follow my heart, though. Love transcends everything, and quite frankly when I actually listen to it, to that gut instinct, it has yet to lead me astray. Note: I absolutly HATE space! But I could watch this movie over and over. Even though so many of the space shots make me want to puke lol
This isn't just one of the best Sci-fi films ever made, but one of the best films ever made that literally changed science fact going forward, thanks to Nolan hiring real astrophysicists and theorists.
This movie was great when I first saw it but now I've got two daughters and this film wrecks me. It makes me cry like a baby. Probably my favorite Nolan film.

I was 28 when this came out and I went to the theater alone, and when I walked out I posted on facebook "This is not only the best movie I've ever seen, but I also don't see a way in which anyone can make a better movie than this!". It's been 10 years and I still stand by that statement. This movie is a true masterpiece and the peak of what filmaking should be!
I was so waiting for this, my favorite movie of all time (followed by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, in a close second)… I’m already ready to cry with you!!😢❤
Interstellar is easily one of the biggest regret of myself not seeing in theaters. At the time, I didn't know who Nolan was (I mean, I watched The Dark Knight Trilogy but I mostly known them as Batman films, not a Christopher Nolan film), I wasn't sci fi geek at the time, and I wasn't mentally prepared for a heavy movie with a duration of 169 minutes. It wasn't until Dunkirk that made my eyes focused more on Nolan's skills as a filmmaker and it was the moment where I searched his filmography, watched Interstellar at home on HBO and realized that I should've known Interstellar better when it came out in 2014
And now it's coming out in IMAX so you can go and see it! Just like me man. Back in 2014 I chose to see hunger games instead of Interstellar....🤦 One of the biggest regrets of my life. Now it's coming back to IMAX! And I'll be sitting there right in the middle row!
"Mostly practical effects"? Did you really mean "Extremely heavy VFX." LOL I am not sure how you deduce this movie is "practical" when every space scene in this entire movie is VFX, and this movie takes place in space for over 75% of the time. If you mean "practical effects" as in sets instead of green screen with the actors doing close-quarter acting scenes, then agreement there. However, no, space scenes were not "practical." That is physically impossible to be practical. Mr. Nolan referred to close-up shooting/scenes as "practical" more than CGI. He worded his interview very poorly, because it is extremely obvious this has heavy VFX usage. Many other VFX professionals have mentioned this as well.
@ we are on the same page. Nolan’s films in general I meant. I understand this is a heavy vfx film when in space. But it isn’t shitty cgi for cgi sake. His desire to build sets, use rear projection, plant corn rather than use cgi is what I mean. He’s blowing dust on his actors and not doing it in post. He’s on the ice on location in Iceland rather than in a warehouse He shoots on actual water on the first planet. Of course he needs effects for the huge waves. Other directors would make the waves AND the water they wade through cgi. Nolan films overall will look great forever due to his dedication to being as practical and in-camera as he can.
I booked tickets to watch the re-release this Friday at a real IMAX theater. It'll be my first time watching anything in a real IMAX format, and I am beyond excited. This is easily one of my favorite movies of all time.
I’m booked for next Wednesday! Same story here. When I was 18, I didn’t know the difference between IMAX and LieMAX yet. Now, 10 years later, Here I come, IMAX 70MM
I fell asleep before he got into space the first time I watched this movie and it took me years to eventually try to watch it again. By the time I did watch it I had a son, and this movie brings me to tears every single damn time I watch it. It is easily my favorite movie and it probably always will be.
Hands down this will forever be my favorite movie, it's contribution towards real science, the emotion it makes you feel, one of Mathews best movies ever
Oh yea, man… this movie hits WAYYYY different when you have children. Before I had children I was like “that’s a good movie…” After kids……… Jesus Christ….. Especially having a daughter and son… When she’s on her death bed and he asked “How did you know I’d make it back?” And she says “Because my dad promised me.” Tears… Just tears… As a dad you tell your child something and then you fight to the death to keep to your word.
The moments of silence during the discussion at the end.. exactly how I felt after watching this one years ago. To review our own lives, what matters and what is possible for the future. Great reaction!
I work in a major retail store that sells televisions (non-commission) and the scene I always use to show the difference between the quality of TV’s is the spinning docking scene. Everyone’s always on edge watching that scene, the music and visuals are amazing
One of the reasons I like watching your reactions is because you catch things I didn’t, or you bring up interesting points/theories I hadn’t thought of. So fun! Thanks.
I love Matthew McConaughey so much, he is one of my favorite actors and two of his movies are in my top 10 faves of all time: Interstellar and Mud which is my favorite movie ever. McConaughey is so good in it, I highly recommend reacting to it
I think I’ve realized why I enjoy watching your reactions to movies that I love. It makes it feel almost like I’m watching the film for the first time with you guys.
This movie is such a great reminder of why I ended up loving sci-fi movies! I fortunately got the chance to get IMAX 70MM tickets for December 9 and I'm going to do a review on it when I get the chance because I have another movie I didn't realize I got tickets for XD but in all seriousness, this movie is an emotional roller coaster that leaves you feeling everything. I absolutely can't wait to see how it feels in IMAX. I remember watching this movie in a Thursday night showing with my grandparents and while my grandma didn't understand the ending, we watched it again for an astronomy class I took in my third year of being in the university and she ended up loving this movie once I Explained it to her and because she passed this year, this movie is going to emotionally wreck me but I have to see this movie in honor of her. This reaction was exactly what my thoughts were 10 years ago so I can't wait to see how my thoughts have changed within this time. Love you reactions guys!
Beautiful movie. Showed this to my son a year ago (17 at the time) and by the time Cooper met Murph again at the end, he was literally balling in tears over the emotions. It struck him so hard to the core.
I saw this movie when it first came out and thought it was great, but it hits so much more emotionally now after I became a father. Understanding the true loss he has through this movie is heart wrenching.
One thing about Coopers promise to Murph, is that he says “When I return we might be the same age” And, when he meets her for the last time, they are the same age, just as he promised
I saw this in theaters (sadly not in IMAX) and it was incredible. Truly an unparalleled movie watching experience and what a theater was meant to be. A place to inspire awe. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the theater at the end.
I love that, at the end, you mention that this December 20th is the only December 20th of this year. This December 20th happens to be my dad's birthday, who passed this year, and would have been 92. Hit me hard. Incidentally, my dad was born on the exact same day as John "Higgins" Hillerman from Magnum P.I. December 20th, 1932. This also underscores my need to keep in closer touch with my daughter and grandkids, who live on the coast opposite of me. Great reaction, guys. Loved it.
Was so blown away in every which way possible at the end of this in the Theater as was everyone else. One of the handful of times where people's mouths were open, looking at each other in total silence in complete astonishment as to what we just saw.... All these years later I love the reactions of those seeing it for the first time and seeing their minds being blown. Also crazy that its being re-released this coming weekend in IMAX! Have my tickets for Saturday's show and 100% know I'll be blown away again with tears in my eyes... ❤❤❤❤❤
Back when this movie premiered, I had no interest to watch it because I did not liked Inception, which came before it, I remember my aunt dragging my ass out in the biggest Imax screen in my hometown to see it and oh man ,I'm so glad i did! What a masterpice experience for the soul and heart, I would sell my sould to get to see it again for the 1st time
i mean the music throughout the whole movie is great because its hans zimmer. but specifically the music during that docking scene for me is just the absolute best score for a film ever made. its just ridiculous
You are so right about watching this in different times of your life. When I saw it when it came out I didn’t have kids. After having kids when I watch this movie now it is so different and the emotions I feel are so much more intense watching it now being a father. This movie is a masterpiece.
Tara impressed no tears during the video message scene. Me and 3 of my best friends broke down when we saw this at opening night at IMAX and never talked about it on the way back just straight to the college bar haha
One of the strongest film scores of all time. It perfectly captures the emotional core of love, loss, and the vastness of space and time. Hans Zimmer has a lot of fantastic scores under his belt, but this one seems to fly under the radar sometimes.
Yes one of my all time favorite movies and my favorite film score of all time. I saw Hans Zimmer live back in September and when he performed this score I got goosebumps such an unforgettable experience.
Movies like these always hit a chord with me idk why his future self influencing his past self to go on the path he doesn’t want but it ultimately pushes him more toward tht wait nvm it was good ending but still shi crazy

I fell asleep before he got into space the first time I watched this movie and it took me years to eventually try to watch it again.
By the time I did watch it I had a son, and this movie brings me to tears every single damn time I watch it. It is easily my favorite movie and it probably always will be.
Those interviews (other than Ellen Burstyn) are real, except the interviewees are referring to the Dust Bowl era in the 1930s.
Apparently Nolan created the Dust Bowl era so he could film those people's reactions for this film in the future. (I might have just made that up.)
I still have the Interstellar soundtrack album on my regular playlist to this day. Zimmer did a masterpiece on this one.

Hands down this will forever be my favorite movie, it's contribution towards real science, the emotion it makes you feel, one of Mathews best movies ever
Definitely in my top 3 movie soundtracks.

My favorite movie! I have watched this film countless times and it still invokes such a strong emotional response from me. Such a masterpiece!
Not hyperbole, I think that was the best reaction in this channel's history. Thank you Coy and Tara!
Oh yea, man… this movie hits WAYYYY different when you have children.
Before I had children I was like “that’s a good movie…”
After kids……… Jesus Christ….. Especially having a daughter and son… When she’s on her death bed and he asked “How did you know I’d make it back?” And she says “Because my dad promised me.” Tears… Just tears… As a dad you tell your child something and then you fight to the death to keep to your word.
''its not possible! ''
''NO, its NECESSARY''
“No. It’s necessary”- Cooper 😎
The docking scene is sooooo fu
The moments of silence during the discussion at the end.. exactly how I felt after watching this one years ago. To review our own lives, what matters and what is possible for the future. Great reaction!
I work in a major retail store that sells televisions (non-commission) and the scene I always use to show the difference between the quality of TV’s is the spinning docking scene. Everyone’s always on edge watching that scene, the music and visuals are amazing
One of the reasons I like watching your reactions is because you catch things I didn’t, or you bring up interesting points/theories I hadn’t thought of. So fun! Thanks.
Knowing how much Tara is a nerd for all things movie production related, this movie is going to blow her mind.
Coy, you’re the perfect guide for Tara to have on this adventure 😂
What's your FAVORITE Space Travel Epic???

This one 100%
I love Matthew McConaughey so much, he is one of my favorite actors and two of his movies are in my top 10 faves of all time: Interstellar and Mud which is my favorite movie ever. McConaughey is so good in it, I highly recommend reacting to it
Kudos to Tara for getting to the "He's the ghost!" realization almost immediately. Love you guys!
I think this is my favourite combo, Tara and Coy :)
I think I’ve realized why I enjoy watching your reactions to movies that I love. It makes it feel almost like I’m watching the film for the first time with you guys.
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Interstellar, the greatest films EVER!!!
I was fortunate back in September to see Hans Zimmer Live in Boston. The music from this was performed and it was emotional and just incredible.
Beautiful movie. Showed this to my son a year ago (17 at the time) and by the time Cooper met Murph again at the end, he was literally balling in tears over the emotions. It struck him so hard to the core.
What can I say, This is a masterpiece of cinema! From Nolan to the cast this is hands down just brillant and I cry everytime I watch it
I saw this movie when it first came out and thought it was great, but it hits so much more emotionally now after I became a father. Understanding the true loss he has through this movie is heart wrenching.
One thing about Coopers promise to Murph, is that he says “When I return we might be the same age”
And, when he meets her for the last time, they are the same age, just as he promised
❤❤❤❤❤
The poem Michael Caine reads at 24:05 is “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by Dylan Thomas.
This is by far my favorite movie of all time. So glad you guys are finally getting around to watching it.
Back when this movie premiered, I had no interest to watch it because I did not liked Inception, which came before it, I remember my aunt dragging my ass out in the biggest Imax screen in my hometown to see it and oh man ,I'm so glad i did! What a masterpice experience for the soul and heart, I would sell my sould to get to see it again for the 1st time
Let’s goooooo one of my favorite movies of all time
i mean the music throughout the whole movie is great because its hans zimmer. but specifically the music during that docking scene for me is just the absolute best score for a film ever made. its just ridiculous
4:03 I'm similarly weirded out by his voice sounding like Paul Atreides.
Timmy had to learn to survive in a Dust Bowl Earth before he could ride the sandworms of Arrakis.
I remember seeing this movie the weekend it came out and I knew it immediately this would be a classic .
The soundtrack alone warrants half a box of tissues every-single-time.
Coy, your appreciation of TARS' humor rivals my own. He's my favorite robot.
18:58 hits super hard to me personally because i used to refuse to say goodbye to my dad every time he went on tour :(
At this point I dont think any movie will top this being my favorite. It is absolutely perfect.
Movies like these always hit a chord with me idk why his future self influencing his past self to go on the path he doesn’t want but it ultimately pushes him more toward tht wait nvm it was good ending but still shi crazy
Good reaction.
Crazy how you guys get the 'immersive' experience in such a very bright room.
Hanz Zimmer is the composer for the score. He's done the dark night rises, inception, transformers, dune, and many more.
Im a huge cinephile and ill tell you now the docking scene had my heart racing like no other scene before, its a masterpiece for sure!
C'mon Coy.. you can't "speculate" out loud on a rewatch😑🤫 but great reaction video for one of my all time favorite films🙌
