This video is all about mastering in Logic Pro X, just using Logic's stock plugins.
Mastering is really the final touches for your mix which includes adding harmonics and presence and colour to the track, also making your track a bit brighter and also a bit louder.
In this video I'm going to show you how to EQ, multi-band compress, enhance the stereo image and also limit your track in Logic Pro X.

DUDE, never thought id be able to master my own tracks and literally just finished getting something i made to a product im actually happy with! thankyou for sharing showing this information with us, really quick and easy to understand, i am BUZZING
I mean ive still got a long way to go but this has given me some good improsation to keep pushing
Glad you decided to take the time and learn instead of seeing it as something for a professional to do. That’s all to common these day.
@@futur_sunds at this point I’m trying to see what educational route I can take to basically be certified to work on post production mastering/mixing for film and television. Starting small by learning to master the music I make for fun is going to help I think in the long run. Super happy to find a logic video and it’s all stock plugins, because really you should be able to master with stock
@@Bittamin very good. You absolutely can master with stock Logic stuff. You just got to learn how to use it.
You are the man! Five years late but I've stumbled across this a the right time. You was like the icing on the cake. Thank you
The level of gratitude I have is immeasurable. Such an excellent explanation!
Don't you ever delete this video :) Before I master my tracks, I use this as a reminder each time. Preciate the transferring of knowledge
Same
This video single-handedly made my music production improve 1000% :D Thank youuuu
This is probably the clearest demostration of how to use Logic tools that ive found on youtube. Absolutely smashed it mate
YOU ARE a Godsend. I am self taught audio recorder, and you just taught me the key to making my recordings come alive! I've been using Logic Pro for years, but I never even knew about a master track. I know, how basic that is. You learn something every day. Thank you sir!
TNice tutorials is literally the best tutorial on UA-cam. It's right to the point, and very informative at the sa ti. Thank you so much
Probably the best instructional video I've found in a very long time.
Thanks a lot. We all appreciate it
I can't express the gratitude and appreciativeness of your skill and profession. I am just beginning to use Logix Pro X and you helped me through your instruction understand it a LOT more than I did before. Thank you!
How has it been the past couple years?? Things getting better?
I literally come back to this video monthly... thank you
Thanks for this! It is a brilliant checklist, and made my life as a happy amateur recorder way easier. Also: Extra thumbs up for using Logics "in-house" plugins. Makes it more accessible for those of us who does not yet own all the plugins in the world...
Amazing.Finaly I found the essentials for mastering: Thank You🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What a great video. You get five starts from me. Extremely clear, direct, and informative without getting unnecessarily complicated. I'm a Logic beginner trying to grasp all these concepts. I've looked at a lot of UA-cam videos about mixing and mastering and you really get top marks from me. I really love the way you demonstrate how to use the plug-ins. But the real test is the final result. Your track sounds excellent. Very inspiring. Thanks!
You my kind sir are doing the lord's work!! Oh my goodness!! I just MASTERED MY VERY FIRST TRACK FELLOW PRODUCERS!! WOW!!!
Thank you thank you thank you!!
im just starting and tNice tutorials video was perfect.Well explained and easy to follow for a beginner.I never understood soft soft till i watched tNice tutorials.
Dude, you're actually a legend. I learned a lot from this, and mastering has gone from a black art to something I actually have some concept of. I'm going to remaster some of my early home-recordings (which were mostly mixed in Audacity and not even mastered), to see if I can breathe new life into them.
Black Art lol me too
I love the tip to mix all songs from an album, then bounce and master the whole album at one time. Tried it both ways and the difference is night and day.
The Bird House how do you master every song at once, they’re all separate song/files for me.
Jake Sklodowski Not at exact same time. But to wait til all songs are mixed and then master the whole album, song by song, after mixing the record. For cohesion. No way to master separate songs at the same time.
The Bird House ok got it I figured, but wasn’t sure, thank you! 👍
Hi thank you for sharing .. im just starting out in logic and all the advice I can get is good. Respect to all who contribute to teaching others . Opinions on style and techniques are all welcome for me.
Thank you for this
@@TheBirdHouse Thanks so much. Can you please clarify for dummy, ME? I have 19 songs that will be on my CD. I bring them all to one 19-track mastering session, and do the process explained in this video for each track separately... the purpose of having them altogether in one session is solely to hear them side by side then. You don't actually apply anything to all 19 tracks at once, correct? Thanks again!
You've actually got so quality stuff on your channel. Keep that up man!
You are kindness, you are magic ❤
You are such a fantastic teacher.
Really goes to show how much of a big difference mixing/mastering can make!
Just done a track using your tips and what a difference to the quality….I am indebted sir 👏👏🎶🎶🎶
You saved my song! thank you so much, I've been working on this for days and was getting frustrated about the mixing going back to it everyday but if you know how to master, it makes the biggest difference ever. its finally done (:
I've used this for all of my music over the last one year and it's bookmarked. thank you
Enjoyed the hands on demonstration with minimal talking. That's the best way to go. Terrific job, and thank you for being so clear and straightforward! It was great, too, seeing how mastering works without a third party app and also without a reference track.
I just wanted to say Tomas George you are the man thanks A MILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU helped me single handed helped me Master my project Thanks if you are ever in Cleveland catch up with me!!!!!!
thank you for your help, mastering my second track ever using this video was LOADS easier than my first one just stumbling around a bunch of different youtube mastering videos. much appreciated.
Thank you for breaking down the mastering process so easily! this guide has been so informative and insightful
Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU! May your children live to be 100 and you outlive them. X
Stock plugins...just what I needed to get to my next level, thanks...
powerfull stuff this is the only lesson i never took thank you
broken it down makes it seem so user-friendly and easy to use. I can’t wait to start making soft! Thanks again!
Best thing I've seen about mastering yet.
Very helpful thank you! Also, this song is very pleasant to listen to. :) makes a difference when you're listening over and over!
God bless you bro! Your way of working really helped me
Tomas, the impact of applying the techniques in this video are magnificent! Thank you!
Thank you for creating tNice tutorials playlist in soft soft, just starting out in soft production and there is so much to learn
Bloody fantastic, easy to follow, practical and instantly useable information.
Brilliantly explained, thorough and not at neck break speed. Really enjoyed this
Thank you!
Thank you Tomas. This mastering tutorial is the most useful sound improvement that I’ve ever come across.
Perfect! Thanks a lot Tomas
I'm buying the course right right away!
Thank you for making it quick. Great job.
As someone whos very new to the mastering part of music creation, this helped a ton. As Paul was butthurt by your video, I found it very helpful to get my feet wet, understand the plug-ins used to master, and learn what they do. I hardly find tutorials that are this useful so, thank you sir!
Love the video mate cheers
Thank you for the super clear video. It's my first time mastering a track and this was so helpful.
super helpful. being able to record/mix/master my own stuff is my dream! and this is getting my one step closer. really appreciate it!
Once you have the discipline to work with original commercial reference tracks, mastering your own stuff might work out but most times it doesn't. Having someone else hear your stuff with fresh ears and with a reference directive of your choice, in my view, is the better option. ....and yes, it may cost but it will be worth it.
Amazing video! I am an absolute beginner to the mastering process and I tried an online class that was just confusing and expensive. I learned so much in the short time with your way of teaching. I appreciate that you show every single step at an easy to follow pace and explain why you are doing it! I’ll look into your course! Thank you!
This video makes a hell of a difference and I recommend this to everybody, thank you for the post and the easiest of instructions to follow! 😎👊💥
The track used here is a banger
Hey Tomas I'm starting to get into mastering my own tracks so thanks for the tutorial video. Your videos are always so easy to follow along and learn from! Thanks!

Thanks for a really great video Tomas. You've really helped me to start to get to grips with a subject I've been struggling to find my way into for a while now. Really grateful to you.

Concise, to the point, no waffle. Thank You!
will be a fantastic journey!
I'm using this as research for my final project in college (I'm producing one of my tacks). Whilst I haven't started anything yet this video made me a lot more confident about reaching the aims I set for myself so thanks!
This is unbelievable content
This video helped me more then any books I've came across have. I'm not the type of person who can read and learn Im a visual learner
Thank you for this video! Just mastered one of my songs using your video and it sounds legit on multiple different style speakers. All the best!!
Super useful as a first time logic user. Thank you!
a different world. It's the sa laws, but different application. Without your videos, I'm not sure I would be at the level I'm at. I'm not a pro
Really nice job. I did so stuff with MIDI/DAW/soft banks wayyy back in like 99/00 in college and was ok at it. I bought soft soft last
The one effective technique I use is staying in touch with a financial coach for guidance, it might soft basic or generic, but getting in
Good tips! Thank you for making!
Absolute legend. Nice one
So informative and concise! Really clear about everything without rambling about anything. Truly great content, man. Thank you!
Thank you very much my friend for help! God bless you!
Excellent video !! So easy to follow ! And I learned how to do more in depth mastering in about half hour !! All I did was follow you closely on your video, made a few changes/adjustments based on the track I had - and boom !! A mastered song !! I could probably start a song mastering company now !! Thanks !!
Changed my songs for the better, thanks for the tips
I rarely use a multimeter for anything, but for some reason, it did work for this particular pop track I was working on. I watched you to get some ideas on how to space my track out. Luckily, I understand how thresh, ratio, etc. because I would've been lost! You didn't really explain it too well [empathetically, I imagined being in college for the first time and hearing you explain this, would've confused me] I get your concept, but it is kind of... dry, because truthfully, there was nothing done to 'make the song sound better' you added an exciter at 5.9kHz, just to add a multimeter, which runs off into the highs at 7.9kHz, that you also boosted at 5.9kHz. Suggestion. I know this is a 'Stock Plugins' video, and you did a decent job, but look into a spectrum enhancer. This way you won't need to 'excite' one frequency, you can knock out the whole spectrum of the song and use m/s; this may save you at least 2 plug-ins.
Great video! Really really helpful with telling people what each plugin is doing and what all the setting within them do too
Thank you Jacob!
wonderful lectchah
This is the music that I hear when I’m on hold with Virgin Airlines.
lol
Ha ha! Indeed!
really easy to understand everything... +10
