when adding oil 98% of people do it wrong. The oil bottle was designed in a way that you don't spill it. Flip the bottle the other way, so the spout it on top not on bottom. This will allow you tip tip the bottle further before the oil comes out.

Seriously, good for you kid. There are not as many people in your age group, or even as young adults, as there used to be that want and are willing to learn the skills needed to take care of a vehicle. While I agree that you should probably change the oil fully since it's pretty bad, I applaud you for KNOWING HOW!!! The biggest problem with a lot of vehicle related maintenance and especially with a lot of gear heads that build their rides to be fast, lifted, lowered, _________ (fill in the blank) is their personalities and attitudes. While competition is great to build skill and knowledge, way too many of them take it to extents of pettiness. It's sad really... They feel superior by their severely inferior mentality. Once you get around the smarter, much more mature group of gear fanatics it's an entirely different level of learning and enjoyment. EVERYTHING that has to do with cars, regardless of whether you know everything or are beginning, like I am, or invent the fastest ride to ever exist, you'll have haters over stupid shit rather than respecting you and appreciating your work! I think it's awesome you're learning this stuff. I'm 33 years old and do not have anyone to show me how to work on cars or teach me. I found your video because my car has a knock in the engine and I am in my own to fix it. Use the haters comments as fuel lol, just don't become one of them!! Best of luck, and thank you for the video. I'm gonna buy and use those products after I do my oil change to hopefully buy me some time to figure out the cause of my car's problem!! Take care!!

Oil does not take care of rod knock.
Rod knock is the equivilant of your rod conneter rolling around on the crankshaft journal. As its doing that it getting hot. Its getting hot because it not properly getting oil coating to inner bearings that should be there. So as its heating up its warping and eventually will throw a rod through your engine block. Or completely fail.

I have been using RISOLINE & STP every time I do a oil change with good quality motor oil. Don't Overfill More Oil Than Engine Required. Always Change Oil Filter.
Change Oil, Filter With Oil Additive Every 5,000 minimum to 8,000 maximum miles & Engine Will Last.
Check Motor Oil, Transmission Oil Levels, Antifreeze Levels Every 1,000 miles. Only Use Specific Type Of Transmission Fluid For Vehicle Type. If Wrong Transmission Fluid You Will Ruin Transmission In A Short Time. Always Check Transmission While Vehicle Engine Is Warm Up & Running. Never Overfill Transmission Fluid, As This Will Also Damage Transmission In A Short Period. Make Sure When You Open Bottles To Cut Out Aluminum Seal On Bottle, Heard Of Aluminum Seal Getting In Engine Oil Fill & Causing Damage. Keep On Trucking.

Just cut the muffler off ! then it'll be louder than the rod knock. That oil is only going to quiet it for a little while and then the engine is going to go. You'd be better off putting in new bearings. Yeah it's a lot of work but it's cheaper than a new vehicle.

I'm sure you've already dealt with the old chevy 350. But they notoriously have lifter issues when getting up in miles and its difficult to tell the difference in a collapsed lifter knocking/ticking/chugging, to the sound of a bottom end rod knock. Typically the bottom ends are pretty bullet proof on those trucks unless you starve it of oil, which caaaaan happen if the oil pump o-ring goes bad with super high mileage, but you would have very low oil pressure which you can easily test. More likely it is a lifter. It would not cost too much to pull the heads and replace the 16 lifters&headgasket and picking up a used camshaft for a total of like 200-350$ and do the job on a weekend. It's fairly straightforward and plenty of DIY videos. BTW you're a fucking goober and I find it hilarious when you blow shit up. Oh, and ALWAYS get your 2stroke bikes jetted properly so they don't fry rings/bearings/etc. If you don't know how to it would be worth paying someone to properly jet it, and do your best not to engine brake excessively. Oh, maybe pay a bike/car tech to come help you buy shit and give you the A-okay bill of health. But keep doing dumb shit buddy!!

Young man, respect your time, effort &labor just a little bit more. Your labor &time is unrecoverable &worth more than any parts or supplies. Once u jack up, secure, tool up& lay down; u might as well drop all of that filthy oil& the equally filthy oil filter b4 getting up. A complete service would've been a better use of your time, talents &resources.
There's NO way that I would've bent my knees &back ¬ come up w/fresh full synthetic oil& filter. Never tilt your oil dip stick upward. Always keep it poiting toward the ground. Gravity will distort an otherwise accurate read. If u remove & clean the dipstick b4 the oil change &leave it out; u won't hv2 clean it again, as the level will creep upward as u fill& remain an accurate read. Don't 4get 2fill (prime) your oil filters b4 installation 2reduce the initial dry start. Don't 4get 2use fender covers& funnels 2avoid wasting product &making a mess during servicing. The cleanup, smoking engine or oil fire is yet another waste of your time.

Buy a $10 bearing, and replace it. That's how you fix rod knock.

MOTOWENS actually my buddy and I did just that after their van had been run without oil. It had spun a coupl rod bearings and it was knocking very badly. You could grab the bottom of the rod and move it by hand. It is a DODGE 3.3L V6. We put all new rod bearings in, cleaned out the oil pan and oil pickup, put fresh oil in and had it running again in about 3 hours. Around $50-60 in parts, oil etc... It's still running fine over year later and they drive it a lot. I never would have thought it would last that long if I hadn't seen it myself. Of course it's front wheel drive and the oil pan was easily removed, probably not so easy on a rear wheel drive pickup.

your gonna be spending 30 hours cussing at your blown up motor like you did with that FUCKING KTM!!! and that POS YAMAHA, you gotta put out to get out when it comes to motors, if you "only drain one quart cause you dont wanna do a full oil change" you can expect to be walking everywhere in a few days, if you 1/8 ass the fuck out of everything you cant expect to get more than a fuck you in return
