Lucas isn't made to fix a knocking rod. It can help with LIFTER tick as has been shown countless times. Also can help with minor timing chain rattle at start up. I don't know where you got the idea that Lucas is meant to fix a knocking rod but there is no claim of that on any of their info so perhaps the only thing that you've "myth-busted" was your own faulty assumptions on what Lucas is supposed to do.
If it sounds like a machine gun when idleing bearings are spun completely. However if the rod knock only occurs upwards of 1500-2000 rpm you might be lucky with just replacing the bearing shells. This experiement is stupid becuase you got a huge gap in the bearing. The oil pressure light is probably on aswell.
Yeah that sounds more like a timing chain jumping. Mmm… the infamous Chevy Tranverse and it has the 3.6l v6 these are known for have timing chain issues. My advice it you don’t have the money get rid of it.
If you have an actually damaged engine eg this car the only thing going to fix it is an engine rebuild no oil isz going to fix broken or worn metal if you using the Lucas before during regular intervals you probably wouldn't be having that issue also not sure where you hear you should use the thickest oil possible you should you manufacture recommended oil and mix lucas with that
Lucas Oil additive claimed it can mix with synthetics on the internet it did not in my 2017 GMC Sierra I heard terrible engine noise it was shut off and drained with fresh oil I will never use this product in my vehicle ever thank you
the lifters /rockers are well beyond this additive's short term fix!.. sometimes the only real solution is to go ahead and change them! but is up to you! for if your car has any sentimental value or otherwise... for if not a mechanic? you better start saying goodbye to it....
I stopped a rod knock in a Kia Optima one time that was pretty loud, Ised 2 bottles of Lucas & 2 bottles of 30w oil, Went away 100% then I hurry up & sold that crap the same week.
Its a traverse man, only way to fix them new chevy 3.6s is to light them on fire and walk away.....
Awesome
Or just take care of the motor with oil changes on time
This what shady people do before they sell you a car!

Dude relax lol
Thank you for putting that out there. People don’t want to get misled.

He said in the video it's not a permanent fix

At least it went away for a bit intill you revved it
Oldest knocking excuse in the book.. 'ya a rock must of put a hole in the pan" meanwhile owner hasn't checked the oil in over 2 years 😁🤔
20w 50 that's way too thick man
LUCAS says up to 60-80% with badly worn engine. Therefore try 4 qts w 1 qt oil........ perhaps!
Yeah that sounds more like a timing chain jumping. Mmm… the infamous Chevy Tranverse and it has the 3.6l v6 these are known for have timing chain issues. My advice it you don’t have the money get rid of it.
It doesn't sound as loud as it did before!!! That's for sure!!!
Heavier oil will not help the noise.Thicker oil just makes the problem worse. You need a new engine or sell the vehicle.
R.I.P
When looking at used cars always always go first thing in the morning and start it from overnight cold.

It's a spun bearing, somebody over revved the engine by hitting ice or hard acceleration.
Try prolong with the lucas, it works the best 👌

That motor is junk... That isn't lifter noise, that's rods knocking...
No way........
I've been working on and rebuilding gas motors for 36 years... That motor IS going to throw a rod...
@@richardhall825 wow..... I had no idea....
Just subscribed to ur channel... Going to c what ur up too...😁

Hate to say it but the end bearing is gone... No oil will fix tgat
I see after a deer hit you you got a ram air intake like a trans am
Very interesting...
Hey my 4 3 Vortec makes the same sound!
At the end of the day its a freaking chrysler product lol
Its a chevy traverse
It did wonders for mine.
That thing is roasted
Looks like you ruined it with all the wrong types of oil.
Lol... Oh ya?
It can be 1. Low oil
2. Worn big end bearings
3. Wrong fuel octane fuel
4. Retarded timing caused by worn timing chain/belt
Did you change oil at all run to low? Don't feel bad for people that neglect their engines
A slight knock that pile needs a motor 3.6 good luck garbage
It quite down my 5.3 Chevy
Thank you
You're so welcome
Total bullshit , have used this products for years . They the best of the BEST!!!!!!!
I stopped a rod knock in a Kia Optima one time that was pretty loud, Ised 2 bottles of Lucas & 2 bottles of 30w oil, Went away 100% then I hurry up & sold that crap the same week.
Was it able to drive away?
Dont give me ideas now lmao 👀🤣
LUCAS says up to 60-80% in badly worn engines....... so in this case 4qts of LUCAS
Well there goes that. Awesome video, thank you.
Use Gear oil 😂
Flush the engine couple time then use Lucas .
Or put used motor in it, the vehicle looks fine otherwise.
Chevy treverse ut oh
Cheap oil did not help.
You wasted your money dude it's either got a wrist pin bad or you spun a rod bearing that Motors junk
Updates ? How did you figure to use the high mileage vs the regular Lucas stabilizer ?
Update: motor was still bad... Parted it out... Made good money... The end.
