Amazing this wrist trick really fixed my slice thank you!
I've watched a # of YT vids by 'Pros'' and not one of them made the fixes as clear as you, thank you.
One of the best videos I’ve seen. He explains clearly what causes the slice and how to fix it. Great job!
Simplest explanation I've seen from anyone
Bravo! Phenomenal walkthrough, can’t wait to give this a try. My slice has been a mystery, but now makes more sense! Thank you so much
Appreciate it!!
Very clear explanation of the multiple factors!! I never understood how the wrist cupping could undo the value of the strong grip...can hardly wait to get to the range.
Glad it was helpful. Let me know how it goes.
Best demo ever ! Have tamed my slice by implementing a few of these moves !
Open face is always my weakest with my driver. But did not know about the wrist turn on top swing. Thank u for pointing that out.
you sir fixed my slice, i played 18 holes today hit every fairway that weren't par 3 with an average of 230 yards on each drive. at 73 years of age i will take it. works for all clubs just have to practice more. your instructions are a God send. a light bulb moment for me. thanks if you ever come to Utah i would love lessons.
Perfect explanation. Completely agree that the path has to come first. I tried the grip and wrist combo without changing swing path a couple years ago and it caused a crazy snap hook lol. Swinging left with a strong grip and wrist bent in made it go crazy left.
Informative session Brian.especially that wrist roll.
I drive 200 yards on a good day and these tips really helped me reduce my slice, thanks!
Great informative and very helpful. Thank you for the drills.
Glad it was helpful!
Great explanation and incredible results straight away when I tried it on the range yesterday. The only thing is, I couldn’t increase speed with the bowed wrist: Felt stuck after hitting the ball. What’s the trick to overcome that? Thanks again for a great video
this is the best simple video ever
Just incase the twisting the grip cue doesn’t work for someone I think of extending my right wrist and pretty much the same happens. It’s just easier for me to focus on one thing. I also like to place a tee diagnal to the right of the golf ball and imagine I’m trying to hit through the golf ball and hit the tee. Obviously I wouldn’t hit the tee because the length of my arms bottom out at the ball but for some reason that’s gotten me hitting balls straighter and farther than ever! Everything in this video is exactly what you need if you’re a major slicer. Skills take a long time to master, don’t give up!!!
Excellent advice I can’t wait to try this 👍
I really enjoyed this video I'm trying to fix my slice I'm going to give this a try and hopefully keeps me out of the woods in the bushes good stuff today
Awesome video! Helped me so much thank you :)
The squat drill and wrist bowing helped a ton! Thanks for making this great video
yes Johnny Miller shows rhis also one of the best iron players ever. works for me, on all clubs
Best anti slice video out there !
This is awesome! it help a lot during practice!
Simple & nice will try on the range
Excellent video. I would another factor...grip pressure.
Fantastic job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks. I’ll try that
great stuff
I’m going to try this.
I golfed with an old retired pga certified trainer 10 years ago and he told me all my good drives my right elbow was in. Ever since then no slices.
That is 100% my issue.
@wjb111 check out Top Speed Golf. Clay Ballard is a great instructor. He teaches great forward shaft lean lessons. I added 15yds a club from his tips. Compression Compression Compression!
Elbow in is important but it’s not enough for me. I slice over 75 yards with my driver. My issue is the wrist, the path, and not opening my body. I hit 100 yard (to the right) slices today. It’s so far off center that it’s kind of impressive. I hate it. I practically hit a 90-degree ball
@softdev1 check out TOP SPEED GOLF on UA-cam. Ballard is a great instructor. Grip club path and tempo are key. He has a great forward shaft lean lesson that added 15yds per club for me.
@@softdev1same, but I’ve started hitting some straight recently and they even out to about 250 carry which is fine by me. The swing thought that helped is hips first shoulders second. Now I’m gonna try to incorporate letting my arms fall from this video
I'm irish and have always played cross handed it's the only way I can play. Can I still implement all of these steps?
So good!!!!!!
How far do you need to have the alignment sticks from the ball?
Sick polo where is that from?
People have been selling this path crap for hooks and slices for at least 60 years. And corrections never work. A slice is primarily the result of the newer player who does not understand that you must never open up the clubface in the first place during the swing. They also usually have left wrist breakdown at the top which opens the clubface. This is something a new golfer learns as they play the game. They naturally get a :"stronger" swing. A shortcut band-aid is to PRONATE (rotate) the club closed as the clubhead nears impact. While this is not a fix, it provides the concept of what has to be done and that is..... NEVER OPEN THE DAMNED THING UP IN THE FIRST PLACE. This idea of pronating at the bottom to learn what the problem is actually came to me from a pretty good pro. But.... when you show this to people on the range, 100 percent of them go back to their old open clubface swing within 5 minutes. And that is why it takes so long to get rid of your slice. Some to even most of them never do. You cannot cure a slice until you stop opening the clubface on the backswing. When you finally do, it just shows that you are getting to be a better player. Next thing is a hook will be your problem and better players think this is even worse. You can't win....
Fixing my club path and starting my grip with the face slightly closed absolutely changed how I hit the ball.
@@mightymoose4577 While that strong grip thing will work it is not necessarily recommended. It can and mostly likely will eventually lead to an incontrollable hook. People who use a strong grip need a very aggressive twist through the ball to avoid that hook. David Duvall used that all his life. A really strong turn through the ball. He said he did that for distance as a kid. Few people do that but it can be done. Better players do not use that kind of a grip just because of the hook thing. When you start hooking go back to a weaker grip.
You instantly fixed my driver swing thank you. Im on the range rn
How far apart do I put my sticks?
My bro was saying to me about the grip too need to try it out just felt uncomfortable lol
Hope this helps! Changing grip always feels weird to start!

i swear im doing all of this and still hit a slice most of the time... im swinging in to out and have my clubface fairly closed, i have a strong grip, im not going over the top, i have good hip rotation, and i have my driver its most draw setting, i do the same grip twist, and i still hit a 20-40 yard right slice 9 out of 10 shots...
Good info to work on, and gratefully he did not try to sell me anything
Glad you enjoyed the video
Where did you find that shirt?
I'm going to start with trying to squat
is that a Hi Bore driver..
You said before the drill that turning left wrist to right opens the club face but you did it too if backswing and said it would ensure a closed club head at impact. Seems like the opposite.
your comment is correct, re contradiction
Followed this now my drive is worse than it ever has been
Perhaps pickleball would suit you better. 😏
@@TAYLORFAN50 was a.mid 80s golfer. this messed it all up

If you were a near-single-digit handicap golfer, you wouldn't be on youtube trying to fix your slice.
Golfers are the most overconfident people on the planet. In no other hobby/sport will you find people who think they're so much better than they really are. My guess is that the vast majority of golfers never played a real sport and were coddled their entire lives. They never received a reality check in the form of getting knocked clear off their feet in an actual sport and they never actually compete. Their frame of reference for "greatness" is non-existent, therefore they have this false sense of superiority.

I literally tried this for 2 hours and still was slicing
I know when I slice its because of missing the driver face an inch or more farther away from the center face. Simple. I address an inch or so closer, so upon swinging Im shorter and hit dead center. Very simple.
My slices come from the dead center of the stinking club face... very hard to figure out. Particularly because I used to draw the ball for 3 or 4 years straight
@@jarren32 Hmm. You hit dead center, and it spins and curves like mad off to the side, which is a slice. Incredible! Im guessing your ball is too far forward. Try moving it and see.
What do you mean an inch or so closer? Like you line up to ball closer to heal? Also trying to figure out my slice.
@@gregsomething2963 A slice can mostly come from a hit nearer the toe of the driver, the curved driver face spins it to slice. A center hit goes straighter, cos its a flat surface. I saw a PGA Tour Pro Tee up this way- at address, his Driver shaft/hosel was at the ball, so sweet spot/ center face was long out from the ball about 1 or 2 inches. Because the actual swing you shorten your reach, striking dead center of drive face, no more slice! Works for me too.
@@markweaks2239 Its the other way around, a slice will more likely happen when you hit it heel side, not toe.
Sweaty
this did not work.
It was the grip for me. If you have a weak grip with your lead hand, you will slice it too
Perfect…
None of these so called fixes work. Think of the fairway as a clock, 12:00 is down the middle. Now aim your drive at 12:00 and if your slice winds up at 3:00 all the time then don't change anything. Just start aiming your drives at 9:00 and they will wind up at 12:00 down the middle. I am 75 and I do this on every driving hole. I am a 15 handicap and I love the game.
You are an WRONG
@@ColeWeaver-e2q What the fu*k is "You are an WRONG"
OK, I have seen a guy do the exact same thing however, you lose so much distance on that type of drive. Maybe at 75 why fix it, but if you had earlier you very might well be 10 handicap.
One of the best descriptions of the moves of a slicer, and the remedy!!!🏌♂👍😎
