The best golf teacher on youtube!
Agreed.
Agreed, wonderful lessons!!!
For sure
Definitely
Agreed
Can’t believe I’m getting these lessons for free! Man appreciate you so much with very clear and detailed instructions!
Clear, concise, and a fantastic lack of hot air!
Totally.
One of the best videos for beating the slice I’ve ever seen
... grip, hips, turn, takeaway, bowed left wrist, extension, ...
All the bases covered in simple, easy to understand (and apply) terms. Great job, Jonathan!
Keep up the good work 👍🏻
The only thing missing is shoulder tilt and “clearing the hips”.
Thank you, this information fills in the gaps of my current knowledge. I summarized your thoughts for later reference:
1. The Grip. With a marker, place two dots on your left hand.
1. One dot is placed on the meat of your palm, right in the center.
2. For the second dot, extend your thumb out on you hand. Where the right side of the thumb connects with the wrist is little indentation. Just inboard from this point, place your second dot.
3. For the dot on the palm, first place it directly on the front center of the grip and proceed to grip the shaft with your fingers with the thumb appearing a little more along the side. When you look down at the dot on the back of your left hand, it should appear more on the right of your grip or along the right edge of your shaft.
4. If done correctly, it will allow you to close the club face through impact, reducing the slice.
2. Upper body vs lower body. Pay attention to where your upper bode is relative to your lower body. Keeping your centers aligned, (head, spine) during take back will prevent the reverse pivot which makes it difficult to swing the club head in to out. Just be aware that you want to keep your upper body more away from the target relative to where your lower body. You should feel your hip staying left and your upper body turning away from the golf ball. Be careful not to physically move you weight more into your trail side. Stay fairly centered with your shirt buttons more to the right than you belt and it doesn’t have to be a lot.
3. Club face down. Control where the club face is pointed in the back swing. As you go back, you want the club face angled down toward the ground. If your club face is pointing straight forward or higher, as the club is parallel to the ground, when you get to the top of the back swing your lead wrist will likely be very cupped and that’s going to influence your swing direction to be more out and across the ball. Whereas if you keep the club face more down or closed when you get to the top, it’s going to make your lead wrist is more flat or bowed, it’s going to influence the swing path to be more in to out. To affect this change, as you’re making the back swing, feel as though the club face continuously turns more down towards the ground. Don’t just angle the face down, feel as though the club face continues to turn more down towards the ground in the back swing. Feeling this exaggerated position will help you achieve the position you’re actually trying to achieve.
4. Forearm Rotation. Control how much the club face is closing after impact. A lot of players with the driver show the lead hand above the trail hand with a wide gap between the elbows after impact. This is a sign that you’re keeping your club face open through impact. Instead, get the toe of the club to overtake the heel at a faster rate. The way to accomplish this is to focus on what your forearms are going to be doing through impact. As you’re going through impact, you must straighten out your trail arm and make sure that your trail forearm rolls more above the lead forearm leaving very little space between your elbows. As a drill, you could get the forearms of both arms to touch each other.
5. Strike location. Pay attention to where you’re striking it on the club face. Spray some foot powder on your club face to determine exactly where the club strikes the ball. Work to hit more centered or toward the toe. Todays clubs are designed for more of a draw near the toe. Swinging over the top tends to drive the heel of the club into the ball first or if you have the club face open, that’s also going to make the heel of the club strike the ball first as well. If you take a foam noodle and place it pointing at the target and just outside the toe edge of the club. This will give you feed back if you wander outside the proper swing path.
Man that swing looks and sounds powerful as heck! So easy and smooth too.
I agree with you guys, this is one of the BEST golfing teacher on UA-cam. I wish I can hit the thumb up LIKE and subscribe for you a million times, you deserve much more than that . Thank you so much for your precious lessons Jonathan 👍👍👍
Jonathan thanks you've shown me what I couldn't see myself. I truly appreciate the content of this video. 😊😊
Thank you! I see why I kept slicing. Will test this out to fix it. Because of you Jonathan, my driving distance is getting closer to 300 yards and I just learned the driver 2 weeks now. It's all in the technique & resilient mind. I am stubborn.
Great techniques and explications as always Jonathan. Clear and straight to the point. Thank you!
Very good job !! Thank you so much. Help me a lot.
Glad I found this channel. Clear, concise, no waffle! Brilliant. Subscribed.
Thanks Jonathan. You explained the subject in a very simple way, easy to follow. Will try what I learned here at the driving range soon.
By far the best teacher on UA-cam, I have seen videos of 5 different channels and this tops them by a lot.
Super clear and easy to understand
Wow glad i stumbled onto this channel. Amazing instruction and i like how it’s concise and to the point...doesn’t waste the viewers time
This. Is. Gold! Thanks JKM! I believe a lightbulb went off in my head with the fore arms suggestions in the follow through!
Thanks Jonathan! This is my go to training video as my shots start to wander off. Excellent video
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I have been hitting the ball long with my driver. Long hook, long slice, long pull and long push. I used your hand placement instructions and drop my score 11 strokes. Just in case you missed it I again want to say thank you.
Great lessons! Just started playing golf, these are fantastic tips! Much appreciated.
Seen a lot of golf tips but these are easy to follow and straight forward! Thanks
Thank you Johnathan! Your instructional videos are excellent! This is just what I needed to straighten my drives and hit more fairways. You are an excellent coach!
Amazing video...For me one of the best videos for slice correction
Great communicator. One of the best online tutors with a rare ability to explain modern swing ideas to the average golfer.
Wow, you're really an amazing teacher. Clear, concise, understandable tips anyone can recreate.
Best teacher on UA-cam
This is the best I've ever seen for anti slice driver tips. God bless this man and this content. I hit my 3 wood farther than anybody In my group hits their driver. 260 on average with roll out mostly straight or slight fade.. BUT I can't even pick up the driver without getting so nervous. I've hit my driver over 300 yards but 80 percent of the time I'm hitting slices to the other fairway. Releasing the club is my problem with driver I'm trying to push it straight. Can't wait to play a round on Saturday and step up and bomb my driver. Everything makes so much sense with the forearms touching . Rory McIlroy is prime example of the follow through. Thanks again!!!
Hi Jonathan Having discovered your videos about 10 days ago and having watched hundreds of golf instruction videos on UA-cam yours are by far and away the most comprehensive, clear and detailed I have seen. In all the lessons I have had over the years no one has mentioned some of the things you have. They are like gold and have awakened my desire to improve using your drills etc. Please keep up the good work, as I now realise how bad my golf swing has become and if you are ever in Portugal then I will be the first in the queue for lessons. Just Brilliant.
Very clear and easy to understand. thank you so much Mr Jonathan.
You are an absolute treasure to the golfing world. Thank you so much for doing this for free. You gained a new subscriber!
Very logical and easy to understand, now I just need to apply!! Great job!
Crystal clear explanation as always. I review this particular video as soon as my fade/slice rears it’s ugly head. Thanks for all you do Jonathon!
I am a new subscriber. I love JKM’s approach and simple explanations. As a life-long slicer I have tried dozens of fixes without understanding the dynamics of the swing. Will bring this lesson to the course today, with a better understanding of why the ball is slicing.
Only seeing ur videos now Jonathan so im watching them all back, love ur work, great videos. Keep up the good work
Another great, helpful vid! Thanks Jonathan!
Great lessons and best coach!!
I've drastically improved because of watching your videos. Thank you.
My favorite coach. So easy to understand and practice your drills.
where has this man been all my life??? unlike Hank Haney this is actually helpful.
This is the best anti-slice video I have seen. Excellent. Thank you.
Comprehensive content. Best instructor on UA-cam.
You are (hopefully) reading these comments. Not everyone can / will pay for lessons. Yours are almost invaluable. I've read Hogan's book, Little Red Book, Green Book & the YellowOrangeBlue Book had there been one. I learned more in these 11 1/2 minutes watching your vid than those combined. No idea how you're able to cut thru the clutter and deliver multiple simple & powerful swing corrections so easily. At 70, imagine how bizarre it was to see my very first intentional draw. I call it my JKM draw--especially since I hit another with the next swing. It needed a better name than "holyshitIcan'tbelieveIhitthat".
Great content as always. I love your swing by the way, really cool and seems effortless.
Tried tip number 3 and instantly fixed the slice. Thank you!
Enjoying your lessons very much.
thats nicely explained and clearly demonstrated, without dramatics.thank you
My first time seeing this. He's identified my usual miss, a push right, a fade or a slice. It's mid-October in Colorado, might not have an opportunity to test this but I'll need to watch this again early next spring. I need a ton of help so I'll be back. EXCELLENT!
Very smart move putting up continuation videos to keep it going at the end. Brilliant!
Hi JKM, fantastic, used the tip for a correct grip and it straightened things out immediately. Thank you so much.
You are the best online teacher I have ever experienced - you explain and demonstrate better than any golf instructor. Your instincts for the " how to " are unbelievable! Bob
Absolutely the best driver instruction ever created. Incredible
I'm not a slicer but I am trying to revisit various fundamentals including grip, posture etc. I found quite a lot of useful information here - good video.
Thanks - just found your channel, looking forward to trying your tips & advice this spring!
Great video too... Highly needed to natural fade hitters like myself. Thnx for sharing. Keep up for your great teaching ✨.
Top tip regarding grip, clear, simple and effective. Thanks
Excellent and clear instructions.
Big tks.
Just so simple and easy to understand love it
Great Tips!! I love the one with the dots!! Definitely going to try it!! I always had a Out to In swing, through the years (33) I always compensate for it BUT now I do slice a-lot! Your lesson makes a lot of sense, Definitely going to try all 5! Kind regards from South Africa 🐘🦏🦒🐃🐆🦛🐊🦈🐋🐬⛳️🏌🏻♀️

Hello there Jonathn . I'm in my mix eighties just back playing after some health issues my driving was like I was fighting a fire , spraying it more left than right . After taking your tips for straightening out my faults I feel that you put your finger on my problem . I'm off out to the back yard to practice . I feel confident already that I can get back on track quickly . Your explanation is clear all I need to do now is work to achieve some sense of direction down the fairway . Many thanks for the tips . You're sincerely . Old young Pat.
I got instant results and fixed my slice by changing my grip, thanks Joe!
Seriously good instruction and explained so well. 👍👍👍👍
Unbelievable content , thank you ! Got some sharpie marks on my left hand and after 3 swings my path went -8 to -3 . Added in step two and five and have a nice fade and consistent. Smash even jumped up giving more carry.
Beautiful and efficient swing, thank you sir!

Thank you! Jonathan. I hit the bell. Hope to follow your swing.
Thanks Jon, Great content as always!!
You are an amazing teacher ! I am lucky to find you -
I will try all 5 things at once. Thanks!
I did this “ placing of hand as explained above “ it made a difference in reducing my slice with the driver !
Mind you I have a Ping G30 SF driver and I try all the usual stuff as well - but the placing of hand on club as above was critical - thanks !
Amazingly clear and effective instruction. Excellent lesson. Just applying your Step 4 alone during my last round completely changed the direction of my ball flight from weak fades to piercing, running draws that added much needed distance. I was shocked to see and feel such a dramatic change. It was very gratifying to see the ball do that! Thank you so much for the help!!!
Subscribed, many thanks Jonathan
Sweet could use this. 🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼
