We have to give this guy credit, at the very least, for his dedication in explaining the hundreds of Linux distros that look so similar. It’s no easy task. I’m not a Linux desktop hater-in fact, I was once a distro hopper myself. But I eventually stopped when I realized that most distros are essentially the same, with frequent releases mainly driven by the community wanting to maintain its presence in the market.
It can bring the app window in foreground already just by hovering the mouse on a windoe, even in Gnome 46, just turn on the 'Hover Click' available on same setting page.
I finally understand what you mean by "here" 😂 In English we say , "now" . Example: "You can change the theme colors, HERE" "You can change the theme colors, NOW" I assume that in your native language "here" has the meaning (in the place of this context) but "now" in English means (in the UPDATED CONTEXT) I also assume that "now " in your native language has a specific use case for "time of action " only (as it does in Japanese, too) but Glad to finally see what you've been trying to say. 🤣😂🤣
I find using gnome to be the most edficient workflow ive had. On my laptop i setup different workspaces for different apps. Switching between the app is done using three fingers swipe left and right, and I set select windows on mouse hover. So basically one move to switch. I wonder how you guys using it on desktop with mouse though.
I just upgrade from Ubuntu 24.04 to 24.10 and it went good so far. ** 1 Question regarding having different background wallpaper images for each workspace? Does anyone know how to easily do this? Gnome extension Wall paper isn't supported with this new Gnome 47, but I guess it will upgraded soon. But is there a way so I could assign a different picture as wallpaper for for say 3-4 workspaces?
I messed with adding "Open in Terminal" in the right click with some commands and it still didn't work. On top of it, Ctrl+Al+T stopped functioning also. How may I fix it?
Incredible! Gnome 2 had themes, then they removed that in gnome 3 and it was revolutionary. Now after many years, they introduced accent colors (PLASMA has themes, colors and accents): TRULY REVOLUTIONARY!!! It really changes everything...😂😂
I heard GNOME are working on 2 icons, that will let you minimise and maximize windows, all with a single click. If any when this comes out, THIS WILL BE THE STUFF OF LEGENDS. I heard they might place it before the close window button. I'm getting shivers just thinking about it. 🤔😉😭😂😂
yeah they have many option to change and customize but the design still looks very old school style for most moder looking interface with gnome extensions I can customize whatever i like
Half of the extensions don't work. The power mode does not switch, and if you inadvertently turned on the economical profile, everything will freeze on it. I still use Windows because Linux has not yet produced a single working bug-free DE
Great, but it's still completely unusable to me if I have to go to workspace view to get in and our of every single app and workspace. Gnome needs a taskbar. Gnome is like a Ferrari with a solid black windshield. You have to drive it inconveniently with your head out the drivers window, Ace Ventura style.
Im on Linux but honestly this OS will never be mainstream because of how fragmented are devs and community, everyone just doing their own crap and forking forks of the forks.
"Looks like Safari and works like Internet Explorer"
Maybe a bit harsh. 😉

I'm using PikaOS Beta 4 (Debian based) from their wiki page, it defaults gnome 47 & I love it.
How is it?
@@LinuxTex so far seems very stable. Hopefully they release soon in Oct. 😌
Couldve used fedora 41 ws instead
Good video man
Appreciate it

Very good information, thanks. 🎉,😊👍ℹ️🙏💯

Gnome is like Apple now - "here is COLORS ACCENTS!!!! INNOVATION!!! "
KDE/Android users - 🚬🗿 we have that about 10 years LOL

Nautilus is what's holding Gnome back as the best distro.
Are gnome tweaks part of settings this time?
Can this latest version of Gnome, be downloaded for Garuda Linux?
Does it come in Arch now?
