    Better alternatives
    2:29 - Ranger -> Yazi
    5:01 - Axcel -> Aria2
    6:52 - Neofetch -> FastFetch (features) or nerdfetch (speed)
    7:30 - LSD -> erdtree or eza
    11:12 - NCDU -> Dust (may or may not be better)
    12:28 - TLDR -> tealdeer (a faster tldr client)

    • @hopelessdecoy
      @hopelessdecoy 2 місяці тому +4

      Wait FAST Fetch is not for speed?

    • @RenderingUser
      @RenderingUser 2 місяці тому +9

      @@hopelessdecoy fastfetch is faster than neofetch. But also slower than nerdfetch. This is because nerdfetch only displays very little info, while fastfetch displayed an entire page of information. Even more information than neofetch. But still faster. So fast fetch technically has the highest speed to information ratio. Nerdfetch is minimal, which is what I like.

      Literally, I was thinking this while watching the video. Some of the video apps are deprecated and the ones that are not, have better alternatives. Is a list of apps that were used 7 years ago.

    Your notes shows you installing axel in place of neofetch. however neofetch has for the most part been replaced with fastfetch.

      Yep, it’s looking like fastfetch will be the neofetch equivalent of the next generation of Linux users.

    Oh wow... A... File manager... A task manager... An app that shows your specs... How insane and reality breaking... No app has ever done any of those things before... Thank you so much for not just click baiting your viewers! You're definitely not like those typical click-hungry youtubers at all!

      Absolutely revolutionary! I mean, I would have just incorrectly called these "very useful", but obviously that would be under minding just how INSANE these all are! I'm gonna have to call in to work today, no way I can function after being delt such a direct shock to my nervous system.

      There is also cheat.sh, which is intended to be used with curl, such as "curl cheat.sh/cat", etc. It also works for programming languages, for example "curl cheat.sh/rust/arc". This can easily be combined to make tooling to fetch documentation.

    you cannot make a tutorial video and ask to install with one specific command. apt works for a specific distros only and assuming everybody will use ubuntu or similar distro is a huge mistake.

    • @kendrapokhrel1086
      @kendrapokhrel1086 2 місяці тому

      That is now a help for only a handful of distros. Some of us do search the internet and find things for ourselves but if you plan on making a tutorial video and talk about how every linux user can do these, you should also know that the commands provided works for every distros out there. These kinda tutorials create a sense of confusion among those using red-hat based distros(dnf/yum), arch(pacman), openSUSE(zypper), gentoo(portage), slackware(pkgtools/slackpkg), void(xbps), solus(eopkg), nixos(nix), last but not the lease alpine(apx).
