This is super helpful Angie! Have you tried the CoTz Face Natural Tone SPF 40 Sunscreen? It's available at Ulta and has a matte finish...no white cast and feels like a primer. It makes my skin really smooth and is perfect under makeup (at least for my dry, 41 y.o. skin).

For those of you who find Australian Gold facial sunscreen a bit drying, I recommend trying Elta MD Physical 41. Very similar, but a little less matte. Still not shiny like some of the other Elta MD sunscreens.

Thanks for addressing mineral as a body sunscreen. Dr. Sam Bunting said mineral sunscreen is best for preventing sun damage because of the oxides, including iron oxide.I look forward to trying the Make Prem as my body sunscreen. You got me using Australian Gold, which I really love. Paula's Choice Daily Wrinkle Defense is my every day face sunscreen.

I just wanted to say thank you. I'm 37 and due to my hysterectomy 3 years ago I have aged dramatically!!! I used to be confident in my appearance but now all of my makeup sets into my pores and wrinkles. 4 years ago i was still getting carded and now people guess me for being 10 years older than i am😥 my confidence dropped to the point that im the girl you see shopping right before the store closes in her pajamas. I've watched and tried so many of your tips and tricks. YAY! im finally wearing makeup again! I'm regaining confidence without breaking the bank. You are absolutely beautiful! I appreciate all of your hard work! Thank you. Have a beautiful blessed day.
P.s. you've probably figured out that im not John Smith 😆 I'm Vanessa. I never comment until now so it's cracking me up

@Ooh LaLa endometriosis had my bladder and colon attached to my uterus. It ended up being an 11 hour surgery with a blood transfusion. It really took a toll on my entire body. Now my calcium levels are really high. I guess that causes the opposite effects when the are too high. Im getting bone spurs all over. I've had one and about to have another back surgery, ive had 3 teeth pulled in 2 years. I think the stress and pain is contributes to my very noticeable 11 lines but i seem to aging very fast. I didn't have any wrinkles 3 years ago. Now my entire face is covered.

I had a somewhat similar experience with rapid aging a few of years ago when i was 38. I had to have 3 CT scans done on the same day: neck, chest, and abdomen. Before this i routinely was thought to be in my late late 20s/early 30s. But in the few weeks following the scans (which have a large amount of radiation exposure in each one), i had rapid aging: i got noticeable nasolabial folds, marionette lines, the beginnings of 11s, and the apples of my cheeks basically disappeared, leaving a sort of mild texture of vertical lines, showing where the deflating happened. I also started getting "neck cords". I was under a lot of stress and worry at the time too, and had insomnia problems, and was eating mostly vegan, so it all may have contributed to a dramatic sudden aging effect.

Have you tried Peter Thomas Roth Max Mineral tinted SPF 45? It's one of my absolute favorite mineral spfs. I think it came out a year or so ago. Also Skin Medica Essential Defense tinted spf 32 is one I buy over and over and Paula's Choice Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 is quite nice. This was a great video. I was about to get Australian Gold, when i bumped into the following review on Amazon:
Australian gold makes a lot of claims about this product that give the user a sense of safe ingredients. However, their rating on the EWG Skindeep website is a 6 where 1 is safe and 10 is toxic.

Awesome as per usual, Angie.. I look forward to these every year. Thank you for all the leg work! :) I never was a big fan of chemical sunscreens for my skin - I am truly convinced they made my melasma worse. Elta MD is my fave...followed by Australian Gold - but only on extra warm days when I'm more "dewy" as it is just a smidge dry for me during the winter/cooler months.

I’m looking at environmental friendly brands today . Been learning about some ingredients harming sea life and the bleaching of our reef. Soon they will ban them , I believe . We love our barrier reef. Also who needs extra questionable chemicals on our skin . Cheers 😊 ladies wear hats !

Raychel Sabino yes, that is what I do, use it as makeup on my ‘ no makeup, makeup days’. I still put on a setting spray over it. It helps a little but that could be the setting spray I use , I am on the hunt for the,end all, be all, setting spray for my mature skin. Any suggestions on one would be great....have a good day🤗 🇨🇦.

Thank you for doing this! I recently purchase the EltaMD SPF 44 and I love it. I was using the PC Ultra Light 30 but the tint doesn’t work on my skin tone especially in the summer months when I have a tan. I’m a man and need a sunscreen that works for my skin tone because I don’t use makeup. EltaMD is one of the only brands that makes a tinted mineral sunscreen for those of us with med and darker skin tones. I’m grateful for them! So many fair skinned people complain about the tint being dark however you have dozens of other options to choose from. I don’t.

I would love to see you review Japanese sunscreens! I've been using the Skin Aqua UV super moisture gel for a couple of years now and it just really seems like Japan has tons of options with SPA 50 PA++++ while realizing that consumers will want to wear sunscreen under their makeup.
The sunscreen I use has a milky watery consistency, is moisturizing, and feels like a necessary prepping step for my makeup. My face feels a bit too dewy with it on its own, however.

Love these (and skin care😍) videos!! So excited to see one of my favorites, Colorescience mineral tinted spf but super surprised it didn't work that great for you. This makes me realize it's more about skin types and maybe types of foundations used??🤔 I have mature (51yrs) skin and because of daily Retin-A use, it's super dry so this sunscreen paired with my favorite CYO foundation is absolutely amazing for me. No settling into wrinkles and my skin looks so soft nourished all day. Another must have is Peter Thomas Roth tinted mineral too.🥰

I used an Elta MD for a few years. I don't remember which actual one it was, but I seem to remember it being slightly tinted and having zero chemical sunscreen, just the minerals. It was SO drying around my eyes, but was very effective. So, was a trade-off for me, I had more lines, but less sun damage :( So then I got an inside job (used to be a landscaper)!

They have a few different types (lighter and heavier weight I believe) and I’m pretty sure Angie has reviewed them in previous videos.
I bought or received a sample pack of sunscreens at Ulta last year as a gift after purchase, all travel size. It had La Roche Posay, Coola, Clinique, Shiseido and more. I didn’t have a problem with the La Roche Posay. It was my 3rd favorite.
My skin is very odd when it comes to sunscreen. I have a reaction to most, but not all chemical sunscreens and I typically can’t wear mineral on my face that’s over SPF 30. It causes sensitivity.
To my surprise I absolutely adored the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 50+. I didn’t dare wear it every day but had no problems on the days I did. No reaction, no sensitivity, it sunk in well and makeup went on beautifully over top of it.
They make it in the regular, sport and sensitive skin formulas. No tint. It’s white bit left no cast on my skin.
